3 Important Information Please read carefully user manual before proceeding to product operation in order to ensure its proper functioning. Please read carefully the instructions below before proceeding to the window installation so as to prevent electric shock, injury, etc. When installing the DEC/DEF Z Wave windows, it is necessary to observe the following recommendations: Above all, follow safety rules. The use of electric mechanical actuators for window operation is connected with a risk of injury. Although, the actuator is equipped with an overload switch, the forces which operate here are strong enough to cause injury. If the DEC/DEF Z Wave window is easily accessible, e.g. the lower window edge is situated lower than 2.50m above the floor level, then special safety measures should be adopted so as to prevent health hazards. This equipment is not intended for use by people (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities as well as by people who do not have experience or knowledge of the equipment, unless this is done under supervision or in accordance with the equipment user manual provided by a person responsible for the safety. Please pay attention that the children do not play with the equipment. After unpacking, check the window elements for any signs of mechanical damage. Installation should be performed by a qualified person in accordance with manufacturer instructions. Before connecting the window, make sure that the power voltage corresponds with voltage specified on the data plate. Plastic containers used for packing should be stored out of children reach as they may be a potential source of danger. Children are not allowed to play with controllers, devices should be stored out of their reach. The window should be used according to its intended design. The FAKRO Company shall not be responsible for any consequences being the result of improper window use. Any activities relating to cleaning, adjustment or dismantling electric parts of the window should be preceded with disconnecting the power supply. Electric parts cannot be washed using solvent based substances or open stream of water (do not immerse in water). Any repairs of the window should by carried out by service authorised by the manufacturer. Electric wires supplying electricity to the power source must have suitable area (2xmm2). Permissible cable length for the mentioned area is 30m. WARNING!!! Danger of crashing. While window closing the actuator exerts the force of 250N (app. 25 kg)!!! 3/8

4 Description of the DEC/DEF Z Wave The DEC/DEF Z Wave window is intended for installation in flat roofs. It is equipped with power supply, actuator, rain sensor, remote control and cables for connection of Z Wave accessories. Actuator of the DEC/DEF window is equipped with the module of the Z Wave wireless control system. Radio communication is two way and exploits radio frequency depending on part of the world (EU 88,4[Mhz] AS/NZ 92,42[MHz] US/Canada 908,4[MHz] RU 89[MHz]). Products of FAKRO and other manufacturers compliant with the Z Wave standard are compatible with each other. The drawings below present general view of the DEC/DEF Z Wave window. The power supply along with the actuator are positioned in the frame of PVC window. Electric wires are run from the power supply to place of Z Wave accessories connection. The ZWP0 remote control is used for automatic control of the DEC/DEF Z Wave window. Actuator is programmed to work with the remote control (channel, first group of movement buttons). In case of change in the configuration of the Z Wave network see the NC85 Programming and Usage Instructions included with the remote control. The DEC/DEF Z Wave window is equipped with the rain sensor as standard. 5 Description of the DEC/DEF Z Wave The window actuator mounted under PVC cover is 5VDC electric device. During the course of the instructions, the term window actuator or device will be used. 6 Description of the remote control Pilot ZWP0 jest dostarczony w zestawie z oknem DEC/DEF Z Wave. Siłownik okna jest fabrycznie zaprogramowany do pilota na kanale nr. The actuator of the window can be programmed to one of the controllers e.g. the ZWP0 remote control, the ZWG, ZWK keyboards or the ZWMP, ZWMA modules offered by FAKRO or any other controller of other manufacturer compatible with the Z Wave system. All information concerning specific procedures i.e. INCLUDE, ASSOCIATE, DELETE, EXCLUDE, LEARN MODE is described in the NC85 Programming and Usage Instructions included with the product. Information how to program the window actuator by using controllers of other manufacturer is to be found in manuals of these devices or on the website of the manufacturer. When controlling the window actuator, the channel LED is on as long as data transmission is made. The channel LED being on for few seconds indicates a problem with reach. Triple flash of the channel LED indicates an invalid data transmission. 7 Reach of Z Wave devices Reach of Z Wave devices Radio signal reach depends on the type of construction, the materials used and the Z Wave devices location. This window is equipped with the rain sensor as standard. When it starts raining, the sensor sends command close to actuator of the window. Additionally, the ZWP0 remote control operates AMZ Z Wave and AMZ/C Z Wave roof awning blinds as well as VMZ Z Wave vertical awning blinds and ZWS2 actuators. The ZWMP weather module in cooperation with the rain sensor closes roof windows and unfolds AMZ Z Wave awning blinds when the first drops of rain appear. 7/8

8 Warranty Warranty The manufacturer guarantees correct device functioning. It also undertakes to repair or replace faulty device if damage is a result of material or structural faults. The warranty period is 24 months from the date of purchase, fulfilling the following conditions: Installation has been performed by an authorised individual, as per manufacturer recommendations. Seals remain intact and no authorised structural changes have been made. The device has been used in accordance with its intended use as per user manual. Damage is not a result of improperly made electrical system or atmospheric phenomena. The manufacturer is not liable for damage which occurred as a result of improper use or mechanical damage. In case of failure, the device must be submitted for repair with a Warranty Card. Defects revealed within the warranty period will be removed free of charge no longer than 4 days after accepting the product for repair.
