1 Optipay BV/RC/CC into a Non-Fascia Vending Machine This document contains information for installing and configuring the JCM Optipay DBV-01 Bill Validator, RC-10 Bill Recycler and A-66 Coin Changer into a Vending Machine without a Fascia style door. The Royal RVV500 (Type B) Retrofit Kit includes the following components and support guides: 1 - Installation Kit (JCM Part No: ) containing: 4 - #8-2 Kep-lock Nuts (Part No R) 1 - Retrofit Guide (Part No: R). 1 - Royal Parts Kit (#56120) (JCM Part No ) containing: 1 - VMC Circuit Housing (RIK# 56589) 1 - Driver Housing (RIK#56591) 1 - Bottom Cover Plate (RIK#56594) 4 - #8-18x½ Self Tapping Screws (#902004) 4 - #6-2x¼ Machine Screws (RIK#901004) 6-4 inch Plastic Cable Ties (RIK#91606) Tool Requirements 1 - #2 Phillips Screwdriver 1-11/2" Deep Well Nut Drive 1 - Pair Wire Cutters 1 - Power Drill with a 7/64 Drill Bit. 2 OPTIPAY BV/RC INSTALLATION STEPS PERSONAL NOTES AND COMMENT AREA Use the following steps to install a combined RC-10/DBV-01 unit into a Royal RVV-500 Vending Machine containing a Non-Fascia style front door: Write any pertinent notes or comments regarding your particular installation here. 1. Remove power to the Vending Machine. 2. Remove the two (2) screws securing the top Controller Cover (See Figure 2 a).. Remove the two (2) screws securing the bottom Controller Cover (See Figure 2 b). 4. Unplug the five (5) Small Driver Connectors. Note the key positions of each connector (See Figure ). Remove the two (2) screws that mount the Driver Housing in place (See Figure 4). 6. Remove the four (4) screws securing the Driver to the removed housing (See Figure 5). 3 5. Using the remaining 4 inch plastic cable ties, bundle the interconnecting RC & BV wires harnesses together. 6. Fill the Optipay CC Coin Changer with the correct denominations of coins (See Figure 1). Plus Key Figure 2 Optipay CC Keypad 7. Install the removed Driver onto the new Driver Housing using the four (4) new 6-2x¼ Machine Screws supplied in the kit and set aside for a later step. (Note orientation shown in Figure 6). 8. Unplug the main VMC Circuit and note the proper connector locations and color key order (See Figure 7). Remount on New Circuit using the New #6-2 x ¼ Screws Unplug and Remove the Circuit Connectors. 7.Press the Plus + Keypad Button the Coin Changer twice (2 times) to reset the coin counters (See Figure 2). 8.Insert a variety of bills and coins into the Optipay BV and CC to determine if the entire JCM Optipay Payment System is operating properly. Note Wire Color Order and Plug Locations. Figure 1 Filling the Optipay CC OPERATIONAL CHECKS RETROFIT INSTALLATION OPERATIONAL CHECK Follow the final operational checks outlined in the respective Optipay product Installation Guides. If further detailed instruction is necessary, refer to the related primary service manual for each of the component parts of this system interconnection, or call JCM Commercial Technical Support for additional instruction. Figure 7 Unplug the Main VMC Circuit Connectors Figure 6 Remount Circuit onto New Housing 9. Unscrew and disconnect the ground wire connections fastened onto the frame (See Figure 8 a). 10. Remove the main VMC Housing by loosening the two (2) retaining bolts, and slide the housing to the center hole and off of them (See Figure 8 b). 11. Remove the six (6) screws securing the VMC Circuit to the removed the housing (See Figure 9). Remove Six Circuit Screws. 4 12. Install the removed VMC Circuit onto the new VMC Housing using the original six (6) screws previously removed from the old board housing. Note the orientation of board to housing mounting slot holes when reinstalling the board (See Figure 10). 1. Hold the Driver Housing previously set aside during Step7 into its new location at the top of the door. Mark the mounting hole locations with a felt tip marker and drill two pilot holes in the frame at these locations (See Figure 11). OPTIPAY CC INSTALLATION STEPS 1. Install the Optipay Coin Changer into the machine where the previous Coin Changer existed (See Figure 27). 2. Connect the 4-pin Molex Optipay CC Communications Connector into the Optipay RC mating receptacle (See Figure 28). Connect 4-Pin Molex Connector Mark and Drill Two Circuit Holes Remount VMC and Replace Six Circuit Screws. Install the A-66 Coin Changer 14. Install the Driver Housing into its new position using two (2) of the #8-18x½ Self Tapping Screws supplied in the kit. 15. Reconnect the Driver connectors noting the proper connector locations and color key order previously recorded in Step (See Figure 12). 16. Reinstall the main VMC board Housing and board onto the two retaining nuts, slide down and tighten in place (See Figure 1 a). a Remount & Tighten the Two Circuit Housing Nuts Replace the Five Circuit Connector Plugs. Connect the 6-pin Molex Optipay CC Communications Connector into the inline MDB Harness mating connector (See Figure 29). 4. Connect the Multi-pin Communications Connector into the DBV-01. ). 5 CASH BOX When the Recycler is not used, slide the white release tab located on top of the DBV-01 forward (See Figure 24) and pull the Cash Box up and out to remove it. Release Tab Slide to Front Cash Box 17. Reconnect Ground wire connections (See Figure 1 b). 18. Replace the main VMC Circuit Connectors noting the proper connector locations and color key order recorded in Step 7 (See Figure 14). It may be necessary to adjust the wiring harness length to accommodate the new VMC location. This can be accomplished by loosening the six (6) screws that retain the door harness channel in place. Figure 24 Cash Box Removal SENSOR MODULE To remove the Sensor Module, press up [1] on the release rod locking bar and pull the module outward [2] from the frame (See Figure 25). Install the Top and Bottom Cover Plates (See Figure 15 and Figure 16). 20. Install the RC-10 Bill Recycler onto the Optipay DBV-01 Bill Validator (See Figure 17). Interconnect the Bill Validator s Communications Harness to the Optipay RC (See Figure 18). 22. Remove the Cash Box from the DBV-01 and install the combined DBV-01/ RC-10 into the door by sliding the top end in first and upward (See Figure 19). 5

6 NOTE: Set all DIP Switches to their appropriate settings as described in the related JCM equipment s installation guides (See Figure 21). Caution: Tighten mounting nuts until snug. DO NOT over tighten. 2. Install the Cash Box onto the DBV-01 when bolted in place. DIP SWITCH LABELS AND SETTINGS Figure 22 illustrates the label differences between the early and later version DBV-01 DIP Switch Blocks. Route the new wiring down and to the right of the newly installed DBV-01/RC10 combination through the existing cable clamp (See Figure 20 b), and secure it in place with a new cable tie supplied in the kit (See Figure 20 c) JCM Logo 2.
