Function: Office Completed: 2013 LEED Status: Gold Certification Pending Architect: Integrated Architecture Project Manager: Ken Bailey Project Superintendent: George Colvin Contact: Julie Towner, (616) PROJECT DETAILS When Rockford decided to move its offices to downtown Grand Rapids, an empty warehouse on a Brownfield site offered an irresistible opportunity to demonstrate the company s commitment to sustainability. Rockford successfully renovated the former paint and powder-coating company into a high tech, energy efficient office. The new office features an underfloor air system, green roof and roof light monitors that, combined with exterior glazing, bring daylight and views to more than 80% of occupied spaces. Rockford worked with the existing structure and materials resulting in 90% of the building s waste being reused or recycled. The result is a repurposed facility that achieves a 30% reduction in square footage per employee while increasing the amount of flexible team meeting space its staff needs. A 38% reduction in energy costs will keep operating expenses low and is a key factor in the building s anticipated LEED gold certification. PROJECT PROFILE
