4 DECT FORUM TASKS Forum creates industry standards via ETSI (e.g. GAP, now CAT-iq program, ULE) and other relevant bodies Ensures interoperability with operators with certification programs. (e.g. new VoIP services for CAT-iq) Expands DECT technology into new geographies (e.g. USA, Japan, India, China) Expands DECT technology beyond telecommunications (e.g. ULE)
5 DECT FORUM STRATEGY Engage with operators to establish IP Voice HD voice Defend spectrum as needed & communicate situation to members Ensure consistency & reliability A well established foundation Search for new geographies balance interest of members with feasibility Launch ULE alliance, prepare for multiple non-telephony business

7 TYPES OF MEMBERS Board Elected by the General Assembly for a 2 year period Full responsibility for Strategy, work program and financial affairs of the Forum Must be a full member Full Member Has full access to all documentation of the Forum including working groups (WG s) May choose to participate in selected WG s and guide the WG s agenda & program Must be a full member to take part in certification programs and use DECT Logos Full voting member in the annual general assembly Associated Member Has full access to all documentation of the Forum including the working groups (WG s) Maybe invited by the board to take part in a WG, w.r.t relevant valuable expertise Not a member Access to DECT related ETSI specification, industry follower
8 OBJECTIVES The Mission of the DECT Forum is to support a collaborative environment of the CAT-iq industry and the DECT industry and drive programs to develop and improve CAT-iq and DECT wireless technology in order to exceed wireless communications expectations and meet the needs of a technology-shifting world To achieve this, the DECT Forum: Campaigns for the CAT-iq and DECT technologies in the best possible way with the funds that are available Protects and expands the allocation of CAT-iq and DECT frequencies worldwide Encourages its members to take part in the enhancement of the CAT-iq and DECT standards and applications through active participation in the standardization bodies and interoperability and certification programs Stimulates and inspires the DECT Forum members to utilize the full frequency spectrum with applications and products Provides comprehensive information and marketing support for its Members
9 KEY BRANDS DECT Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication Operates in an unlicensed, protected frequency band. Developed by the European Telecommunication Standardization Institute (ETSI) and is recommended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for worldwide deployment. DECT 6.0 Interference Free Communication The DECT technology has been allocated in the USA in the frequency band MHz by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for Unlicensed Personal Communications Services (UPCS) in DECT 6.0 can easily be integrated into WLAN and WiFi systems without negative impact because DECT 6.0 resides in the UPCS band. CAT-iq Cordless Advanced Technology internet & quality Drives the convergence of telephony (voice) and the era of broadband networks (data). Provide s new application categories (e.g. ULE) and product devices. CAT-iq is designed for the next stage of Home Gateways and meets the requirements of operators and service providers in terms of reliability and interoperability
