2 1 X10 Collector in general 2 Mounting Cosmos X10 is mounted on the DIN-rail to the customer s control cabinet. Figure 1 Cosmos X10 Figure 2 Cosmos X10 is mounted on the DIN-rail Cosmos X10 is a basic level data reporting system. It can be used e.g. in condition based maintenance. The data from the source device is collected with Modbus/TCP and S7 protocols via the X10 s Ethernet interface. Also other protocols are supported via expansion modules. The collected data is then utilized several different calculation types by Cosmos X10 and it will further forward the technical and production result reports to the customer s CBM system. The files are delivered over the SMTP mail in zipped XML format by default. X10 also support the delivery via secure HTTPS connection of instant values as well as different type of files to the cloud. Different kinds of file servers are supported as well. Cosmos X10 system s hardware and software are starting in automatic sequence after the X10 device is powered on. User actions are not needed after power outage situations. The X10 booting status can be checked from the LED status indicators and those statuses are described in more detail in Chapter 2.

3 3 Hardware 4 Software Cosmos X10 hardware is based on an embedded system platform with additional real time clock hardware component. Cosmos X10 software implementation is logically divided into four components; collector, calculator, reporter and data delivery. 3.1 Connections Cosmos X10, connections (see Figure 4): 1 Power source: External via expansion header, VDC or 5 VDC (1*) 2 HS USB 2.0 Client port: Access to USB0, client mode via miniusb 3 HS USB 2.0 Host port: Access to USB1, type A socket, 500 ma LS/FS/HS 4 Ethernet: 10/100, RJ45 5 SD/MMC Connector: MicroSD, 3.3 V 6 Digital input 4 pcs 7 1 wire bus 8 HDMI Note Optionally two RS232 serial port and one RS485 port. If the optional choice is used the enclosure depth is 40 mm. The collector component is responsible for establishing the Modbus/TCP client or S7 communications with all the configured measurements. X10 uses an internal configuration file for defining all the input and output related communication parameters e.g. for Modbus and cloud communication. The calculator part is handling the number crunching and it calculates the hourly and daily based data and stores the technical and production data results into the internal database. The reporter is the third part of the software and it s taking the calculated data from the internal database and creates the XML-based data document for the condition based monitoring system. Reporter copies the archive file in a place defined by the customer. The fourth component is the data delivery. It can be established via or the local fileserver or even directly to the Azure cloud platform. Data is also available via local database if needed for the local data occur. Generally speaking data delivery system levels are packet deliveries e.g. once a day or instant values via predefined meters, gauges or text boxes * 1 Figure 4 Cosmos X10, connections

4 5 6 Typical use cases LED status description Case: Single unit setup Cosmos X10 device will be integrated into the customer s unit. The X10 is collecting the data from customer s unit controller by using some well-known protocol. X10 is connected to the existing Ethernet switch and poll data from the unit main controller. Data is sent out to cloud via modem. Customer can look values from Cosmos cloud by using portable device or PC Case: Multiple devices Cosmos X10 device will be integrated into the customer s unit. X10 is connected to the existing Ethernet switch and poll data from the several different main controllers. X10 also is measuring internal temp from the different locations. Temperatures are measured via integrated one-wire bus. All data is sent out to cloud via LAN network. Customer can look values from Cosmos cloud by using portable device or PC. Case: Cloud interface Site side configuration is similar, as case above, but data is needed in customer existing IT system or customer internal network. Cosmos cloud has data out interfaces from the cloud. By using these interfaces customer can use existing applications and analyzing tools against the real-time data. Case: Turnkey The Cosmos product family has solutions from sensor to cloud. Cosmos designers are capable to design hardware, software, communication and ICT. Typical cases are also electrical cabinets (design, manufacturing) and modifications to existing systems. 1 Figure 6 inputs via integrated LEDs, these LED statuses are explained below. 6.1 X10 internal status X10 internal status LEDs (bright blue) are integrated into the printed circuit board. There is an opening on the top cover of the X10 for the LEDs. 1 USR 0-3 LEDS are indicating following statuses, see Figure 6: USR0 is configured to blink in a heartbeat pattern USR1 is configured to light during microsd card access USR2 is configured to light during CPU activity USR3 is configured to light during emmc access 6.2 Digital input LEDs Four status LEDs for digital inputs can be found from the upper side of the X10 device, see Figure 6: 2 I1 3 I2 4 I3 5 I4

5 6.3 External status LEDs Three external status LEDs can be found from the upper right corner of the X10 device, see Figure 6: 6 Run 7 Collect 8 Send 9 Link The LEDs are giving the following information about external statuses. Connection to file server failed Power off or after boot up sequence Link information OK After power on, or no link information No link information 7 Troubleshooting If something seems to be out of order, please, try the following: The X10 will not start : No LEDs lit or Run LED lit but no Internal heartbeat LED (bright blue) lit Check that the power cable is connected to the X10. Reboot the X10 by unplugging the power connector, please, wait ten seconds and plug it back in. The X10 starts, but the collector program does not start: Run LED and/or Collect LED are. Check that the network cables are connected to the correct ports. Reboot the X10 by unplugging power connector, please, wait ten seconds and plug it back in.
