3 1) Introduction This document describes the installation to be implemented in the building. The system shall be based on open protocols (KNX, Modbus, IP, DALI, etc.) and shall be implemented by a partner installer of Schneider Electric. The reference architecture is the following: Reference architecture 3

4 2) Control/Automation of the building 2.1) Control interfaces In order to enable maximum flexibility and scalability in time, the commands shall be interoperable with the KNX protocol (ISO/IEC ). The attribution of command functions can be modified by simple reprogramming of buttons/detectors, with the help of the ETS software of KNX configuration. The user interface configuration and modification has to be done directly in the web page of the controller ) Commands by push-buttons The different terminals are controlled individually from multi-function KNX buttons. These buttons enable to manage, from 1 or 2 buttons, the lightings (ON/OFF or diverse), roller shutters, blinds, heating, scenarios, etc. It is possible to use ranges of multi-function buttons connected directly on the KNX bus. It is possible to create interface from other ranges of push-buttons with the help of interfaces installed in the flush box of the button. The push-buttons and interfaces also integrate the functions: of timer short call/long call (lighting, scenarios, etc.) The KNX ranges are divided into: Push buttons Movement detectors Thermostats Infrared receivers for command of terminals via an infrared remote control The infrared codes of the remote control can be known by a universal remote for optimization of the remote control numbers in the house. For reason of aesthetics and functionalities, the switchgear range should be chosen from among the ranges of Schneider Electric brand. The different ranges of multi-function push buttons of Schneider Electric are: Altira range M-plan range Artec range Trancent range 4

5 Plus Push Altira range Plus Push-Button M-plan Glass range Plus Push-Button multifunction with in-built thermostat Artec range Trancent range (touch glass 1, 2 or 4 zones) - The Plus Push-Button (Altira, M-Plan, Artec ranges) for bus systems have, according to the range, two (single push-button), four (double push-button), six (tripe push-button) or eight touch surfaces (quadruple push-button). It is possible to allocate different functions to the push-buttons. It is hence possible to switch, vary the intensity, order the blinds or call the scenarios. It is also possible to command each touch from the push-button of infrared receiver (in case of infrared received push-button), by means of an IR remote control. - The push-button of the Trancent range can be programmed as single, double or quadruple touch-plate. The tactile surfaces situated opposite each other can be configured as a pair of keys (double surface) or as individual keys (single surface). 12 configuration options are available in total. The Trancent push-button exists in 1, 2 or 3 modules (i.e., 4, 8 or 12 buttons): 1 module Trancent 2 modules Trancent 3 modules Trancent 5

6 Compatible terminals: It is possible to create interface of all types of push-buttons by using push-button interfaces: 2-input Push-button interface 2.1.2) Commands by detectors (and exemption) The mode of lighting management is based on taking account automatically and in combination of small movements on the office floors (detection of presence) and of extra natural light. In period of occupation (presence detected), this principle can be subject of an exemption by the user: Passage into Automatic mode Manual control Passage into Manual mode In period of non-occupation (no presence detected), the lighting will be switched-off after a few minutes. The choice of light sources, luminaires and power supply auxiliaries shall enable a regulation of the lighting by analog (1-10V) or DALI type digital ballast. The detector has a IR receptor in order to be controlled with a remote control. 7 2.2) Management of terminals 2.2.1) Lighting management The lighting command orders (originating from push-buttons, touch-screen, automations, etc.) are received by the actuators which enable the direction of the loads. These actuators are either modular (in the switchboard, recommended for better maintenance), or built-in (flush box, center pot, etc.). For management of Led variation, it is advisable to use Leds with 1-10V or DALI ballasts for an optimal management of the variation of lightings. 8 2.2.2) Management of roller shutters Each roller shutter is steered individually from a dedicated KNX push-button besides the roller shutter or from a KNX push-button already used for lighting. A centralized management shall enable general opening and closing of the roller shutters, for example by distinguishing the floors. It is possible to order the roller shutters by remote controls (infrared remote control combined with a push-button with IR receiver). Roller shutters/blinds Actuator (8 roller shutters 10A) Compatible terminals: The KNX actuators enable management of 4-wire roller shutters (ascent/descent/neutral/earth). For the roller shutters of different technologies, it should be checked from the roller shutters manufacturer on the existence of a gateway to KNX (number of manufacturers are compatible). 9 2.2.3) Management of heating and air-conditioning Management of fan coil units The temperature of each zone should be controlled individually and locally from the KNX thermostats, with the possibility of modifying the operating modes (Comfort, Eco, Night) locally and from the graphical interface. A time schedule will enable managing these comfort modes and will be configurable from the graphical interface. The management of heating is a time-proportional management. The different parameters of this management are configured in the KNX thermostats. Actuator of fan coil units & Valve (except adaptor) Actuator of fan coil units: - MTN Compatible terminals: Many fan coil are compatible with the KNX system, but technical details have to be validated. The KNX system manages the heating by room (but does not manage the generation). The valves can be those of the collector manufacturer Management of VRV systems It will be possible to be interfaced with VRV systems of different manufacturers. The compatibility has to be validated by the system integrator. 9

10 3) Collection of energy information The metering of energy information (electricity, water, gas) will be performed over Modbus open protocol. Some Modbus devices will be directly available in the system, for a quick and easy integration. But it will be also possible to create Modbus profiles for devices that are not included in the system. The electrical metering will be performed with mono-phase/three-phase meters enabling the display of consumption measurement information. The metering of fluids (water, gas) will be performed with Smartlink type impulse meters of Schneider Electric. The energy information will be displayed in real time on the graphical interface. Consumption curves will be traced: - daily (hourly consumption) - monthly (daily consumption) - annually (monthly consumption) It could be possible to compare a value during 2 different periods. It could be possible to compare different value during the same period. It is possible to create load shedding logics based on the consumption, for example the cut-off of power outlet in case of overshooting the thermal consumption threshold. 11 4) Technical alarms 4.1.1) Binary Information It will be possible to recover technical binary informations. This information can: - Be displayed on the control panel - Lead to an alerts, via to inform the occupant The contacts can be: - Floating - 24 Vdc Vac KNX binary inputs Smartlink KNX binary inputs - MTN Etc. 12 - of current (4..20 ma, etc.) - of voltage (0..10 V, etc.) KNX analog inputs KNX analog inputs : - MTN Etc. 5) Protection and feedback The protection should be in-built or have the ability to integrate an OF or SD type auxiliary. The status of the circuit breaker should be communicated in real time to the supervision organization through the Modbus RS485 protocol. 13 6) Graphical interface 6.1) Logic controller 6.1.1) Description The controller used for access by Smartphone, tablet or computer should be modular (DIN) and should not exceed three modules of large size (3x18mm), in order to facilitate the integration in the electrical cabinets. The controller should communicate in the following open standards: KNX according to the ISO/IEC standard and Modbus. The communication can be done by two-wire KNX, Modbus RS485 or IP - KNX/IP Modbus. The regulator should be CE marked. The implementation of the system should be executed by a partner of Schneider Electric. It will not be integrated to an additional and specific interface for commissioning. The function should be integrated in the controller. - spacelynk logic controller : LSS ) Logic controller configuration The configuration of the controller shall be done by a KNX system integrator. The KNX and Modbus integration shall be quick and relevant. The creation of trends, schedulers and logical bloc function shall be quick and easy (drag and drop). 6.2) Smartphone, tablet and computer The system should enable viewing and controlling the different functions of the building from a Web interface accessible from a Smartphone, touch screen, tablet, or a computer. All brands and models of Smartphone, tablet and computer shall allow this connectivity. The proposed solution shall not implement an application but shall be viewed by a browser directly ) Graphical interface for tablet and computer 13

14 The interface should be completely configurable, conforming to the requirement of the end users and maintenance resmonsible. From a tablet or a computer, it will be possible to integrate the graphical representation of the floor and area plan. The interface shall include tabs to enable navigation from one function to another. 15 The graphical interface should be completely modifiable and adaptable to the need of the occupant ) Graphical Interface for Smartphone From a Smartphone, the display will be simplified for visual clarity. Example of graphical interface of Schneider Electric brand: 6.2.3) Functions The user interface should enable the control of all the functions within the KNX installation. - Switching of lighting and dimming, central command and by zones - Control of roller shutters and blinds, central command and by zones - Control and adjustment of heating/cooling settings and modes (comfort, eco, night), central command and by zones The scenes will be set conforming to the needs of the end user. These functionalities will be available at the time of installation ) Time schedule The interface should enable time management, i.e., weekly and monthly programming. It will be possible to define the time and days for certain automation actions such as heating, lighting and blinds. It will also be possible to determine the specific days for the holiday periods, for example special events which differ from your daily schedule ) Metering The interface should enable viewing the metering information which will be collected from KNX/Modbus measuring products. According to the case, the metering can be directly implemented by using Modbus/KNX, or taken on an impulse meter with an impulse measurement module. 15

16 The screen should enable viewing the measurement data over different periods of time, for a maximum duration of 10 years. The metering information of different time periods will be available to compare one with the others. It should be possible to extract measurement information in a CSV format in order to view, store and trend with the help of another tool, as Excel. It will be possible to create links between measurement and control of energy in order to optimize the energy consumption ) Camera It is possible to display the IP cameras on the interface. All the cameras in M- JPEG format are compatible. 16

17 7) Option : DALI into Canalis Cabling 7.1) Lighting The luminaires must be equipped with gradable electronic ballasts communicating from the DALI (IEC 62386) digital bus. They will be adapted to these types of luminaires: halogen, CFL, LED 7.2) Electrical wiring systems The prefabricated electrical wiring system and the luminary connection sockets will integrate the energy distribution and the DALI communication bus from the plant with the ballasts by respecting the following standards: Immunity for commercial, residential and light industry environment: IEC Issue for commercial, residential and light industry environment: IEC Digital addressable lighting interface (DALI): IEC All low tension switchgear particular rules for prefabricated wiring systems: IEC The system will enable the reconfiguration of lighting areas in case of change of the installation (reallocation of ballasts in the different zones). 7.3) Branch connectors They integrate the feed for the luminaires as well as the connection to the communication bus. If the branch cable does not integrate shielding for communication should not exceed 2m. 17
