3 Glossary of Terms Access Control Software: Software used to setup, manage and monitor the access control system. Access Control System: All hardware and software components that interoperate to selectively restrict access to an area. Access Credentials: An access control card, fob or pin code used for identification purposes on an access control system. AES: Advanced Encryption Standard developed for secure electronic communications. API: Application Programming Interface Defines the correct way for a software developer to request services from another application. Clock and Data: A signalling method used to send data between the card reader and the controller. CR123A: A lithium ion battery which is a standard battery in the security industry. Dual port Ethernet switch: A networking device that allows IP devices to be connected on a network. Euro Profile: A type of cylinder lock design predominantly used in Europe which uses a single piece of metal to connect both sides of the lock. IOM: Input Output Module used as part of an access control system where signalling to other equipment is required. IP Controllers: Hardware that controls the access control system by communicating with the server and the reader. IP Hub Controller: Hardware that controls wireless elements of an access control system by communicating with the server and with the wireless locks. IP Rating: Ingress Protection Rating, classifies the degrees of protection against both solids and liquids in electrical enclosures. LED: Light Emitting Diode. Line of Sight: Unobstructed open air. POE: Power over Ethernet. PSU: Power Supply Unit RS485: A serial interface standard in which data is transferred. TCP/IP: Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol Token: Card or Fob USB: Universal Serial Bus WCF: Windows Communication Foundation Wiegand: A signalling method used to send data between the card reader and the controller.

4 General System Specification Overview (a) The system shall manage the access control of the building through the use of access control software and IP controllers communicating with proximity readers and/or keypads. Access credentials used for identification purposes shall include cards, fobs and/or pin codes. The system shall be scalable up to a maximum of 4,000 access control points. (b) The IP controllers available from the manufacturer shall include a single door IP controller with a dual port Ethernet switch and POE+ (IEEE 802.3at Type 2) compatibility, a two door IP controller and a four door IP controller with an inbuilt 3 Amp PSU. (c) The IP controllers shall all be capable of storing up to 60,000 unique users each with up to five access credentials. (d) The system shall be compatible with an IP Hub controller, powered over POE and/or 12vDC and capable of controlling up to 32 wireless locks. (e) The readers available from the manufacturer shall include proximity readers (mullion, panel and surface mount) and a pin code and/or proximity keypad. The readers shall be configurable to be able to provide a Wiegand or clock and data signal to communicate with the controllers. (f) The wireless locks available from the manufacturer shall communicate with the IP hub controller over the 868MHz frequency over a range of 150 metres line of sight. The wireless lock shall be compatible with euro profile cylinders and be powered by one CR123A battery on the secure side of the door lasting for up to 200,000 activations. (g) The access control software shall be a role based software with clearly defined and separate modules for the installer of the system, the administrator of the system and the security guard monitoring the system. (h) The access control software shall have a PRO version and a Lite version. The Lite software shall be a fully featured free of charge access control software to include features such as time and attendance reports, muster reports, card designer and anti-passback. The Pro software shall have a multi-tenant module and be capable of operating on unlimited PC s utilising a client server architecture and controlling a maximum of 4000 access control points.

5 Hardware Requirements Four Door IP Controller (a) The controller shall control up to four access points (entry and exit). (b) The controller shall support IP and RS485 communications. (c) The controller shall have an inbuilt monitored 3 Amp power supply housed inside a metal cabinet. The 3 Amp power supply will be sufficient to power the controller, up to 8 readers and the battery recharge. (d) The controller shall support Clock & Data and Wiegand format. (e) A memory card slot shall allow additional functionality: door plan, extra user rights, distributed intelligence and monitored tamper. (f) The controller shall be capable of storing up to 5000 log events in the event of loss of communication to the server. Once communication is restored, the events will be uploaded to the server. (g) The controller shall be compatible with a two door IP controller, a single door IP controller, an input/output module and an IP Hub controller from a single source manufacturer. (h) The controller shall be capable of storing up to 60,000 unique users each with up to five credentials. Display (a) The controller shall be programmable via an integrated keypad with LCD display. The controller shall be capable of programming and operating independently from application software if required. Cabling Requirements (a) Controller to Server: CAT5 cable or technical equivalent. (b) Controller to Controller: I. CAT5 cable or technical equivalent II. Belden 9501 III. Max distance: 1.4km (c) Controller to Reader: I. 8 core screened Belden 9504 or equivalent II. Max Distance: 100 meters Communication Requirements (a) Controller to Server: TCP/IP LAN. (b) Controller to Controller: I. RS485 (c) Controller to Reader: I. 7 Single Door IP Controller (a) Each controller shall control one access point (entry and exit). (b) The controller shall support IP and RS485 communications. (c) The controller shall have a dual port Ethernet switch allowing for the connection of IP devices. (d) The controller shall support Clock & Data and Wiegand format. (e) The controller shall be capable of storing up to 5000 log events in the event of loss of communication to the server. Once communication is restored, the events will be uploaded to the server. (f) The controller shall be compatible with a four door IP controller, a two door IP controller, an input/output module and an IP Hub controller from a single source manufacturer. (g) The controller shall be capable of storing up to 60,000 unique users each with up to five credentials. (h) The controller shall be capable of being powered using POE+ (IEEE 802.3at Type 2) via a single CAT5e/6 network cable. Display (a) The controller shall have status indicators to indicate that the controller has power, doors are online or offline and whether or not there is a fault on the system. Cabling Requirements (a) Controller to Server: CAT5 cable or technical equivalent. (b) Controller to Controller: I. CAT5 cable or technical equivalent II. Max distance: 1.4km between controllers (if using RS48 controller network) 100m between controllers (if using dual port Ethernet switch) (c) Controller to Reader: I. Two core screened Belden 9504 or equivalent II. Max Distance: 100 meters between controller and reader Communication Requirements (a) Controller to Server: TCP/IP LAN. (b) Controller to Controller: I. RS485 using controller network (up to 16 doors) II. TCP/IP using dual port Ethernet (c) Controller to Reader: I. Clock and Data or Wiegand interface Power Requirements (a) Operating Voltage: 12 Volts DC (b) POE+ (IEEE 802.3at Type 2): I. Utilise CAT5e/6 network cable Dimensions (a) The controller shall have a dimension of 235mm x 255mm x 85mm.

8 Input Output Module (a) An Input Output Module shall be available from the single source manufacturer (b) The IOM shall be compatible with all controllers described above. (c) The IOM shall support eight Input s and 8 Output s. (d) A maximum of four IOM s may be connected to any of the controllers described above (4 Door, 2 Door or 1 Door Controller) giving 32 relays and 32 inputs per controller. (e) The IOM shall communicate with the controllers over RS485. (f) The IOM shall NOT require the server to be running to operate. (g) The IOM shall be used in applications where signalling to third party equipment is required. Examples of this are elevator control, alarm systems, CCTV, air conditioning etc. Display (a) The IOM shall have status indicators to indicate that the IOM is communicating with the controller and if an event occurs on the IOM. Cabling Requirements (a) IOM to Controller: CAT5 cable, Belden 9501 or technical equivalent. Communication Requirements (a) IOM to Controller: RS485 Power Requirements (a) Operating Voltage: 12 Volts DC Dimensions (a) The IOM shall have a dimension of 235mm x 165mm x 55mm.

9 IP Hub Controller for Wireless Locks (a) Each hub shall control up to 32 wireless locks within range. (b) The hub shall communicate with the wireless locks using the 868MHz frequency up to a range of 100metres line of sight. (c) A memory card slot shall allow additional functionality: door plan, extra user rights. (d) A hub Group shall be responsible for managing the 32 locks in its Group. For fault-tolerance and high reliability, the manufacturer shall allow up to four hubs in a hub group. (e) The hub shall be capable of storing up to 5000 in the event of loss of communications or power loss. (f) The hub shall be compatible with a four door IP controller, a two door IP controller, a single door IP controller, an input/output module and the access control software from a single source manufacturer. (g) The hub shall be capable of storing up to 60,000 unique users each with up to five credentials. (h) The hub shall support signal strength monitoring. (i) The hub shall support the auto discovery of wireless locks. (j) The hub can be interfaced with the fire panel to accept a signal in the event of a fire. Upon activation (communication with the hub), the wireless lock will unlock. Display (a) The Hub shall have status indicators to indicate that the Hub has power, wireless locks are online or offline and whether or not there is a fault on the system. Cabling Requirements (a) Hub to Server: CAT5 or technical equivalent Communication Requirements (a) Hub to Server: TCP/IP LAN (b) Hub to wireless lock: 868MHz frequency Power Requirements (a) PoE IEEE 802.3af source with battery back-up and/or, (b) +12V, 1Amp source with battery back-up Dimensions (a) The hub shall have dimensions of 235mm x 165mm x 55mm.

10 Card Reader Requirements and Technologies Card Technologies Supported (a) The card reader options available from the manufacturer shall be capable of reading the following technologies: I. 125kHz (Standard RFID) II MHz (MIFARE Classic) III MHz (MIFARE DESFire EV1) Mullion Style Proximity Reader (a) The reader shall have a robust polycarbonate housing suitable for mullion mounting. (b) The 125kHz version of this reader shall support HID-compatible tokens in addition to the tokens of the manufacturer. (c) The reader comes with a 3 metre pig tail lead (CAT5e Cable). (d) The reader shall be IP67 rated for internal or external use. (e) The reader shall support a clock and data or Wiegand output. (f) The reader shall have a tri colour LED. (g) The reader shall have a built in buzzer. (h) The reader shall have a vandal resistant cover available from the manufacturer. Technical Details (a) The reader shall operate between -20C and +50C. (b) The reader requires +5V DC to +12V DC to operate. (c) The reader has the following dimensions: 37mm x 120mm x 15mm (d) The reader shall have a maximum distance from the controller of 100m. (e) The reader will use 8 core screened cable (Belden 9504 or equivalent) to connect to the controller. (f) The readers can be paralleled for entry and exit readers to a maximum current of 500mA if powered from the controller.

11 Proximity Reader (Surface or Flush Mount) (a) The reader shall have a robust polycarbonate housing. (b) The 125kHz version of this reader shall support HID-compatible tokens in addition to the tokens of the manufacturer. (c) The reader shall be IP67 rated for internal or external use. (d) The reader shall provide a clock and data or Wiegand output. (e) The reader shall have a tri colour LED. (f) The reader shall have a built in buzzer. (g) The reader shall be capable of being surface or flush mounted. Technical Details (a) The reader shall operate between -20C and +50C. (b) The reader requires +5V DC to +12V DC to operate. (c) The reader has the following dimensions: Surface Mount: 95mm x 130mm x 25mm and Flush Mount: 95mm X 128mm X 19mm (d) The reader shall have a maximum distance from the controller of 100m. (e) The reader will use 8 core screened cable (Belden 9504 or equivalent) to connect to the controller. (f) The readers can be paralleled for entry and exit readers to a maximum current of 500mA if powered from the controller. Panel Mount Proximity Reader (a) The 125kHz version of this reader shall support HID-compatible tokens in addition to the tokens of the manufacturer. (b) The reader shall be IP67 rated for internal or external use. (c) The reader shall provide a clock and data or Wiegand output. (d) The reader shall have a tri colour LED. (e) The reader shall have a built in buzzer. Technical Details (a) The reader shall operate between -20C and +50C. (b) The reader requires +5V DC to +12V DC to operate. (c) The reader has the following dimensions: 62.5mm * 58mm * 25mm (d) The reader shall be mounted along with a panel mount flush plate onto a single gang electrical back box (e) The reader shall have a maximum distance from the controller of 100m. (f) The reader will use 8 core screened cable (Belden 9504 or equivalent) to connect to the controller. (g) The readers can be paralleled for entry and exit readers to a maximum current of 500mA if powered from the controller.

12 Pin and Proximity Reader (a) The reader shall have a robust polycarbonate housing. (b) The reader shall be an integrated keypad and proximity reader (c) The 125kHz version of this reader shall support HID-compatible tokens in addition to the tokens of the manufacturer. (d) The reader shall be IP67 rated for internal or external use. (e) The reader shall provide a clock and data or Wiegand output. (f) The reader shall have a tri colour LED. (g) The reader shall have a built in buzzer. (h) The reader shall be capable of being surface or flush mounted. Technical Details (a) The reader shall operate between -20C and +50C. (b) The reader requires +5V DC to +12V DC to operate. (c) The reader has the following dimensions: Surface Mount: 95mm X 130mm X 27mm and Flush Mount: 95mm x 128mm x 21mm (d) The reader shall have a maximum distance from the controller of 100m. (b) The reader shall be a keypad with NO proximity reading capability (c) The reader shall be IP67 rated for internal or external use. (d) The reader shall provide a clock and data or Wiegand output. (e) The reader shall have a tri colour LED. (f) The reader shall have a built in buzzer. (g) The reader shall be capable of being surface or flush mounted Technical Details (a) The reader shall operate between -20C and +50C. (b) The reader requires +5V DC to +12V DC to operate. (c) The reader has the following dimensions: Surface Mount: 95mm X 130mm X 27mm and Flush Mount: 95mm x 128mm x 21mm (d) The reader shall have a maximum distance from the controller of 100m. (e) The reader will use 8 core screened cable (Belden 9504 or equivalent) to connect to the controller. (f) The readers can be paralleled for entry and exit readers to a maximum current of 500mA if powered from the controller.

13 Wireless Lock Requirements (a) The wireless lock shall be a real time wireless networked electronic lock that can be installed on most internal wooden doors (36 60mm wide). (b) The wireless lock requires a euro profile lock casing with an 8mm spindle. (c) The wireless lock communicates wirelessly with the Hub (as described in controller section above) using 868MHz frequency (128 bit AES encrypted communication). (d) Up to 32 wireless locks can communicate with the Hub within a 150 metre range (line of sight). (e) The wireless lock always has free egress on the secure side of the door (f) The Hub can be interfaced with the fire panel to unlock doors in the event of a fire. This shall result in the wireless locks remaining open once they communicate with the hub. (g) The wireless lock and hub can be added to an existing access control system by the same manufacturer using the same access control software. Battery Life (a) The wireless lock shall support up to 200,000 activations using one CR123A lithium battery (b) The wireless lock shall use a capacitance sensor to detect access tokens. This shall greatly increase the battery life of the lock. (c) The software will monitor the wireless locks battery life and provide an alert in the event of a low battery. (d) In the event of a fully depleted battery there shall be a mini USB port covered by a rubber lip on the unsecured side of the door. A mini USB cable connected to a laptop can be inserted to provide ample power to allow a valid token access to the secure side of the door where the battery can be changed. Card Technologies Supported (a) The wireless lock shall be available in the following reader formats: I. 125kHz (Standard RFID and supports HID) II. MIFARE Classic III. MIFARE DESFire EV1 Form Factors & Dimensions (a) The wireless lock shall be available in the following form factors: I. No Key Override II. Key Override on outside only III. Key Override on both sides (b) The manufacturer will provide the necessary space for the euro profile cylinder but shall NOT provide the euro profile cylinders as part of the offering. (c) The wireless locks dimensions (excluding handles) shall be 45mm X 293mm X 30mm Compliance (a) The wireless lock shall be fire rated for 30 minutes and 60 minutes and comply with BS EN :2014. (b) The wireless lock shall comply with the BS EN 1906/2013 Grade 3 (37-B010) - door furniture with high frequency of use. (c) The wireless lock shall comply with MIL-STD 810G Method Annex E random vibration test. (d) The wireless lock shall have been successfully tested to over 1,000,000 handle uses by Exova or equivalent independent third party organisation.

14 Software Requirements (a) The access control software shall be a role based software application. There shall be clear and separate modules for the Installer, the Administrator and the Security Guard. (b) The software shall be available in two forms Lite and Pro (c) The software shall be capable of scaling from one site to multiple sites and be controlled from a centralised server. (d) The software shall support a developer friendly public API which shall be made available as an XML Web Service. (e) A SQL server database shall be used for storage of system data. Software Authentication (a) The software application shall request an operator s user name and password before entry to the system is granted. (b) The password shall be fully encrypted to prevent it from being easily copied. (c) The software shall not be displayed until the identification of the operator has been verified and access is granted. (d) When defining the operators access levels, the system shall allow the level of assignment to be specified. These levels include the following: I. Read only: This type of privilege level does not allow the operator to create or modify II. III. components in the specified area of the system. However, they are allowed to view those records. Modify: This type of privilege level does not allow the operator to create components in the specified area of the system. However, they are allowed to view and make modifications to existing records. Full: This type of privilege level allows the operator to create, modify and view components in the specified area of the system.

15 Lite Software (a) The Lite software shall be downloadable free of charge from the manufacturers website. (b) The Lite software shall have software updates which will be free of charge from the manufacturer. (c) The Lite software shall be capable of operating on 1 PC and up to 100 doors. (d) The Lite software shall support the following features: I. Add / Delete Users II. User Groups III. Door Groups IV. Timezones V. Real Time Events VI. Anti Passback VII. System Alarm Acknowledgement VIII. Elevator Control IX. Random Challenge X. Muster Report (Fire Roll Call) XI. Graphical Site Maps XII. Counting Areas XIII. Card Designer XIV. Holidays (e) The Lite software shall support the following reports: I. Validate Users II. User List III. Card Expiry IV. User Tracking (Fire Muster Report) V. Audit Trail VI. Event Analysis VII. 16 Pro Software (a) The Pro software shall have a charge associated with it from the manufacturer. (b) The Pro software shall be downloadable from the manufacturers website but will require a licence key to unlock the software. (c) The Pro software shall have regular software updates which will be free of charge from the manufacturer. (d) The Pro software shall be capable of being installed on unlimited PC s and to manage a maximum of 4,000 doors. (e) The Pro software shall have the multi-tenant module available. (f) The software will have a client server architecture where clients will have full functionality but no data will be stored on the client PC s. (g) The Pro software shall support the following features: I. Add / Delete Users II. User Groups III. Door Groups IV. Timezones V. Real Time Events VI. Anti Passback VII. System Alarm Acknowledgement VIII. Elevator Control IX. Random Challenge X. Muster Report (Fire Roll Call) XI. Graphical Site Maps XII. Counting Areas XIII. Card Designer XIV. (b) The API shall provide clear calls to allow for efficient integration with third party applications. (c) A user import tool shall be available as an additional chargeable module. (d) The user import tool shall allow for integration into HR databases or Active Directory.

17 Server Specifications Software (a) Application Server Software Requirements: I. Windows Server bit, or 64 bit Microsoft.Net Framework v.2.0 with SP2 or later version. (b) Database Server Software Requirements: I. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with SP2, OR Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition with SP2 or later version. (c) Client Requirements: I. Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 7.0 or later version. Hardware The minimum hardware requirements are as follows: Database server: Processor: P4 2.4GHz Memory: 2 GB Application server: Processor: P4 2.4GHz Memory: 1 GB Hard disc: 100GB Token/Credential Requirements (a) The access control tokens/credentials shall be available in the following form factors: I. Proximity card (Printable for ID purposes) II. Proximity fob (Not printable for ID purposes) III. Half shell proximity card (Not printable for ID purposes) (b) The technologies available from the manufacturer for the various form factors include: I. Proximity card (125kHz, MIFARE, MIFARE DESFire EV1) II. Proximity fob (125kHz, MIFARE) III. Half shell proximity card (125kHz) (c) The technologies available from the manufacturer for the various form factors shall have the following read ranges under normal operating conditions: I. 125KHz card, fob and half shell card: 8cm II. MIFARE card: 5cm, MIFARE fob: 3cm III. MIFARE DESFire EV1 card: 5cm

18 Manufacturer s Warranty (a) The manufacturer provides a 5 Year warranty on all controllers, input / output modules, wired readers, tokens/credentials and software. (b) The manufacturer provides a 2 Year warranty on the wireless lock. -END-
