4 Electricl Precutions Wrning Never open ny covers on the document cmer except s specificlly explined in this User's Guide. Never ttempt to disssemble or modify the document cmer. Refer ll repirs to qulified service technicins. Unplug the document cmer from the outlet nd contct your locl deler or Epson for help under the following conditions: If smoke, strnge odors, or strnge noises come from the device If liquid or foreign objects get inside the device If the device hs been dropped or the housing hs been dmged Continuing to use under these conditions my result in fire or electric shock. Do not ttempt to use ny dpter other thn the AC dpter nd power cord included with the device. Using n improper dpter my cuse dmge, overheting, fire, or electric shock. Be sure to use the AC dpter with the proper voltge indicted in this guide. Use of different power source my result in fire or electric shock. If the AC dpter, power cord, or document cmer is dmged, turn the power off, unplug the AC dpter from the electricl outlet, nd contct your locl deler or Epson for help. 5 Cution Turn off the document cmer nd unplug it fter use. Mke sure the power is turned off, the plug is disconnected from the outlet, nd ll cbles re disconnected before moving the document cmer. If mlfunction occurs due to sttic electricity, thunder, nd so on, the product begins recovery opertions. During recovery opertions, do not touch ny switches on the product. When using the mounting points under the document cmer to secure it to tble, crt, or stnd, fsten the two bolts securely but do not overtighten them. Do not use dhesives. Do not plce the document cmer in poorly ventilted plce where het cn ccumulte. Do not plce the document cmer on crpet, blnket, nd so on, or cover it during use. Do not instll the document cmer in hot loction, such s ner heter. Route cbles so tht they re not tripping hzrd. Otherwise, they could trip someone nd cuse fll or injury.

6 Clening Precutions Wrning Use dry cloth (or, for stubborn stins, moist cloth tht hs been wrung dry) for clening. Do not use liquid, erosol cleners, or solvents such s lcohol, thinner or benzine. Do not plce ny continers of liquid on top of or ner the document cmer. Do not spill liquid or spry fine mist into the document cmer. Liquids entering the document cmer my cuse mlfunction, fire, or electric shock. If you spilled liquid, turn the power off, unplug the AC dpter from the electricl outlet, nd contct your locl distributor. Using the dmged device my cuse fire or electric shock. Never llow objects of ny kind to enter ny openings in the document cmer. Do not leve objects, especilly flmmble objects, ner the document cmer. Doing so my result in fire or electric shock. Cution Unplug the AC dpter from the outlet before clening to prevent electric shock. Usge Precutions Cution Do not look into the lens when the LED illumintion lmp is on. The bright light cn dmge your eyes. Do not use excessive force when djusting the document cmer. The document cmer my be broken, resulting in personl injury. Do not plce hevy objects on document cmer. Otherwise, it my be dmged. Do not try to press the rm flt or fold it bckwrds. Otherwise, it my be dmged.

7 Bttery Precutions Wrning Incorrect bttery usge my cuse btteries to rupture nd lek bttery fluid, which could result in fire, injury, or corrosion of the remote control. If bttery fluid gets in your eyes, do not rub your eyes. Wsh them well with clen wter nd contct doctor immeditely. If bttery fluid enters your mouth, rinse immeditely with plenty of wter nd contct doctor immeditely. If bttery fluid comes in contct with your skin or clothes, wsh with wter to prevent possible skin dmge. Keep btteries out of the rech of children; they re choking hzrds nd re very dngerous if swllowed. Prepre two replcement mngnese or lkline AA btteries. Do not instll btteries of different types, or mix new nd old btteries. Insert btteries so tht the polrities (+ nd -) re correct. Not doing so my cuse lekge, overheting, or explosion. Be sure to replce both btteries with new ones of the sme type. Not doing so my cuse lekge, overheting, or explosion. Remove the btteries if you will not be using the remote control for long period of time. When bttery runs down, tke it out of the remote control immeditely. B [A/V Mute] button Turns the video nd udio of n Epson projector on or off.* C [Source Serch] button Chnges the input source connected to n Epson projector.* * This is not supported by some projectors. 17 Connecting Follow the instructions in this section to set up the document cmer.

18 Connecting the Document Cmer Directly to Projector 18 You cn connect the document cmer directly to imge devices, such s projector or externl monitor, using computer cble or HDMI cble. the document cmer re output from the projector. Only udio from the SD crd is output. You cn lso connect the document cmer to projector through computer. s "Connecting to Projector Using Computer" p.20 Connecting Using Computer Cble (Supplied) Connect the Disply Out port on the document cmer to projector using the computer cble. Imges (live or on n SD crd) from the document cmer re output from the projector. Audio is not output. When imge devices tht support the HDMI CEC stndrd re connected to the document cmer, opertions for the document cmer nd the imge device cn be linked together. Set HDMI Link on the document cmer. s Function - HDMI Link p.41 For necessry settings on the imge device, see the documenttion provided with the device. When Using Computer Connecting Using n HDMI Cble When the Computer In port on the document cmer is connected to computer using computer cble, you cn project PowerPoint slides or imges from ny other ppliction from projector. Connect the HDMI port on the document cmer to projector using n HDMI cble (commercilly vilble). Imges (live or on n SD crd) from

19 Connecting the Document Cmer Directly to Projector 19 This connection method is only vilble when the document cmer is connected to computer using computer cble. If the computer you re using does not hve VGA output port, connect the computer directly to the projector. Imges on the computer connected to the document cmer re only output from the Disply Out port. You cn switch the projected imge between [ ] or [ ] using the [Source] button on the document cmer or the remote control. [ ]: Projects imges from computer. [ ]: Projects imges (live or on n SD crd) from the document cmer.

20 Connecting to Projector Using Computer 20 When the document cmer is connected to computer using USB cble, you cn operte the document cmer from the computer. Using the softwre supplied, you cn sve imges nd video, djust picture qulity, zoom, nd so on. s "Using the Computer Softwre" p.44 Connect the USB-B port on the document cmer to computer using USB cble. Next, connect the computer to the projector. The cble used to crete the connection differs depending on the computer nd projector you re using. See the documenttion provided with the computer nd projector you re using. You cnnot project imges by directly connecting the document cmer to projector with USB cble. Connect the document cmer to USB 2.0 port of computer. If you connect it to USB 3.0 port, it my not function properly. Do not connect multiple document cmers to one computer t the sme time.

22 Positioning the Document Cmer 22 Rise the cmer rm with one hnd while holding the bse of the cmer with your other hnd. b Rotte the cmer rm s shown. Attention Do not try to press the rm flt or fold it bckwrds. Otherwise, the document cmer my be dmged. The cmer rm cn only rotte within the rnge shown below. c Position the cmer hed bove the projection re.

23 Plugging In nd Turning On 23 Connect the document cmer to the projector with cble before turning on the document cmer. s "Connecting" p.17 Connect the power cord s shown nd plug the cord into wll outlet. d Select the pproprite source on the projector depending on the port to which you connected. Live imges from the document cmer re projected from the projector. b Press the [t] power button on the document cmer or remote control. The power indictor flshes blue. When strtup is complete, the power indictor nd the cmer indictor re lit blue. Strtup tkes pproximtely 15 seconds. c Turn on your projector.

24 Projecting 24 Plce your document on the tble under the cmer hed. Align the center of your document with the mrk on the side of the document cmer. If necessry, you cn djust the brightness of the imge using the [ ] or [ ] on the document cmer or remote control. When projecting A4-size or letter size pper, lign the edge of the pper with the guides on the side of the document cmer. The mximum pper size tht cn be projected is A3 lndscpe. c Press the [Focus] button on the document cmer or the [Auto Focus] button on the remote control. The focus is djusted utomticlly. To shrpen hrd-to-focus objects, use the [ ]/[ ] buttons on the document cmer, or the [Focus] buttons [ ]/[ ] on the remote control. b Slide the [ ] lmp switch to illuminte the document. d To zoom in on prt of the imge, press the [Zoom] - [z] button on the document cmer or remote control. Press the [Zoom] - [x] button to zoom out.

25 Projecting 25 You cn zoom up to 12x opticlly nd 10x digitlly. (When the opticl zoom rte reches the mximum vlue, it switches to the digitl zoom.) When using the opticl zoom: [ ]: Projects imges from computer. [ ]: Projects imges (live or on n SD crd) from the document cmer. When using the digitl zoom: To enble the digitl zoom, press the [Menu] button nd set Imge > Digitl Zoom to On. When using the digitl zoom, you cn scroll (Pn/Tilt) the enlrged imge by pressing the [ ], [ ], [ ], nd [ ] buttons. Imge qulity declines when using the digitl zoom function. Switching the Projected Imge When computer is connected to the document cmer, you cn switch the imge projected from the projector using the [Source] button on the document cmer or the remote control.

26 Projecting 26 Outputting Imges nd Sound When connecting multiple devices to one document cmer, the imge nd udio re output s follows. When [ ] is selected using the Source button Disply Out port: Imges from the computer HDMI port: Live imges from the document cmer USB-B port: Live imges from the document cmer nd udio from the internl microphone Imges on the computer connected to the document cmer re only output from the Disply Out port. When [ ] is selected using the Source button When projecting live imges from the document cmer Disply Out port: Live imges from the document cmer HDMI port: Live imges from the document cmer USB-B port: Live imges from the document cmer nd udio from the internl microphone When recording live imges or tking photos using the document cmer, imges nd udio cnnot be output from the USB-B port. When projecting imges from n SD crd Disply Out port: Imges from the SD crd HDMI port: Imges nd udio from the SD crd When computer is connected to the USB-B port, the SD crd viewer is unvilble. Freezing n Imge Press nd relese the [Freeze] button on the document cmer or the remote control to freeze the imge. After freezing the imge, you cn remove your document while leving its imge displyed on the screen. Plce your next document under the cmer lens nd press the [Freeze] button gin; your presenttion continues without interruption. Projecting Smll Objects To project smll object, lower the cmer rm. You cn plce the cmer hed within pproximtely 10 cm (4 inches) of the object. To zoom in on prt of the imge, press the [Zoom] - [z] button on the document cmer or remote control. Press the [Zoom] - [x] button to zoom out. Displying Whitebord Imges You cn use the document cmer to disply lecture or presenttion t the front of room, or to cpture imges of whitebord or chlkbord. Press the [Rotte Imge] button [ ] on the remote control to turn n imge upside-down. You cn lso rotte the imge by pressing the [Menu] button nd then selecting Imge > Imge Rottion > 180 degrees. Rotte the cmer hed nd set it in the direction of the object.

27 Projecting 27 Projecting Through Microscope Projected imge b Press the [Focus] button on the document cmer or the [Auto Focus] button on the remote control. To disply objects s seen through microscope, use the included microscope dpter. Before instlling the document cmer, mke the following settings: - Focus the microscope nd djust the zoom - Press the [Menu] button, nd then select Imge > Microscope > On. Imges my not be displyed correctly depending on the opticl properties of your microscope. The imge is utomticlly focused. You cn mke n udio/video recording of your projection. The recorded imges re sved to the SD crd. s "Recording Movies" p.32 Attch the microscope dpter to the microscope's eye piece.

28 Projecting 28 c Adjust the height nd ngle of the cmer hed, nd then ttch it to the microscope dpter. b With the microscope's eye piece in the center of the microscope dpter, tighten the three screws on the microscope dpter to secure it in plce.

29 Turning Off 29 Turn off the document cmer fter use. Press the [t] power button on the document cmer or remote control. The following messge is displyed on the projected imge. b c Press the [t] power button gin. The projected imge disppers, nd the power indictor turns off. Disconnect the power cord nd ny other connected cbles, nd then fold down the cmer rm.

30 Displying Sved Imges s Slideshow You cn sve live imges from the document cmer to n SD crd nd then disply the sved imges nd movies s slideshow. This section explins how to perform opertions using the document cmer or the remote control. You cn sve imges using softwre on your computer. s "Using the Computer Softwre" p.44 FAT16 SD crds (up to 2 G) nd FAT32 SDHC crds (up to 32 GB) re supported. EX-FAT SDXC crds re not supported. SD crds with security function cnnot be used. Attention In the following situtions, dt on the SD crd my be lost or corrupted. If the crd is subjected to sttic electricity or electronic noise If the crd is not hndled correctly If mlfunction occurs or during repirs If dmge occurs due to nturl disster Note tht Epson ccepts no responsibility for lost or corrupted dt, even if the loss occurs during the wrrnty period.

31 Sving Imges 31 You cn sve imges from the document cmer to n SD crd s still imges. Imges re sved in JPEG formt (1920 x 1080). You cn chnge the bckground color for the imge in Bckground Color. When White is set nd the imge is sved, if you print the imge on white pper, the re round the imge my not stnd out. s Function - Bckground Color p.41 Insert n SD crd into the SD crd slot on the document cmer. d Repet steps 2 nd 3 for ny dditionl imges you wnt to sve. If there is no spce on the SD crd, the messge "No free spce on the SD Crd." is displyed, nd the imge is not sved. b c Project the imge you wnt to sve. Press the [Cpture] [ ] button to cpture the imge. The number of photos vilble is displyed t the top right of the screen next to, nd cptured imges re sved to the following folder on the SD crd:

32 Recording Movies 32 You cn sve imges nd udio from the document cmer to n SD crd s movies. Movies re sved in AVI formt (imges: Motion JPEG 720p/30 fps, udio: Liner PCM). You cn record individul files t the following sizes: Cpcity: up to 2 GB Recording time: up to pproximtely 29 minutes If the mximum cpcity or recording time re exceeded while recording, the movie up to tht point is sved nd the recording ends. 50 Problems nd Solutions 50 Opertion Problems No imge ppers on the screen After you press the [t] power button, wit few moments for the imge to pper. It tkes pproximtely 15 seconds for the document cmer to output n imge. Mke sure ll necessry cbles re securely connected nd the power is on for the projector nd the document cmer. s "Connecting the Document Cmer Directly to Projector" p.18 s "Connecting to Projector Using Computer" p.20 If you hve connected lptop, see the following. s "Problems Connecting Lptop" p.51 To project live imges from the document cmer, press the [Source] - [ ] button on the document cmer or the remote control. Select the correct source on your projector. The source refers to the port on the projector to which you hve connected the cble. Press the projector's power button to wke it from stndby or sleep mode. Mke sure the imge hs not been "muted" or turned off. Also see if your document cmer is in sleep mode. If the power indictor on the document cmer flshes, reconnect the power cord. If no imges re output even fter pressing the [t] power button gin, stop using the document cmer, contct your locl deler or the nerest service center provided in this guide. s "Epson Projector Contct List" p.52 Imge Qulity Problems The imge is fuzzy or out of focus If the surroundings re drk nd the contrst in the projected imge is low, the document cmer's uto focus function my not work correctly. 51 Problems nd Solutions 51 Imges must be DCF-complint, JPEG files to be displyed, such s from digitl cmer. Do not edit the imges, s this my chnge their formt nd prevent them from being displyed. Imges must be nmed using the formt ABCD1234.JPG, where ABCD is ny combintion of upper- or lowercse letters nd 1234 is ny combintion of numbers. (For exmple: Pict0001, Pict0002) Imges must be plced in folder nmed DCIM\123ABCDE, where 123 is ny combintion of numbers nd ABCDE is ny combintion of upper- or lowercse letters. If this folder structure does not exist, first crete folder nmed DCIM, then crete folder within it with the desired nme. (For exmple: 100EPSON) Imge files do not hve the correct time stmp The document cmer does not hve built-in clock. Therefore, when you view cptured imge files from your computer, the ctul time they were creted is not displyed. Windows Hold down the lptop's Fn key nd press the key lbeled with or CRT/LCD. (See your lptop mnul for detils.) Wit few seconds for n imge to pper. To disply on both the lptop's monitor nd the projector, try pressing the sme keys gin. If the sme imge is not displyed by the lptop nd projector, check the Windows Disply utility to mke sure the externl monitor port is enbled nd extended desktop mode is disbled. (See your computer or Windows mnul for instructions.) Mc From the Apple menu, open the System Preferences utility nd select Displys. Click the Arrngement tb nd select the Mirror Displys checkbox. Problems Connecting Lptop If imges re not displyed from PC lptop, you need to set up the lptop to disply on n externl monitor.
