1 The Host Controller (HST-00) within a Savant System provides numerous functions including highlevel automation and control functions, user interface interpretations, system administration, and monitoring. The HST-00 is designed for redundancy, having two Savant servers (host controllers) SVR-00. The HST-00 is an always-on solution limiting automation and control service interruptions. The + redundancy scheme allows the secondary host controller to seamlessly switch over to the role of the primary host controller. The redundant host architecture ensures Savant service availability in case of a host failure. The HST-00, within any Savant System, may act as the main media server housing and controlling playback of any itunes content and supports mobile devices (ipad, ipod touch, and/or iphone ). 6 Specifications for Mounting Device in Rack The HST-00 can be mounted in a U rack style enclosure. The next figure shows a partial view of a typical rack used to house an HST-00 and other devices. The HST-00 is compatible with all standard 9-inch National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) rack-mounts. HST-00 The exploded view (below) of the HST-00 shows the front access with removable faceplate, sliding trays, mounting brackets, and optional top cover (RCV-3000). This is a rack-mount shelf for the second generation Apple Mac mini form factor. The open shelf design allows for proper ventilation and easy wiring.
