1 Training Title LATEST/ADVANCED COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS USED IN SCADA SYSTEMS Training Duration 5 days Training Date Latest/Advanced Communication Protocols used in SCADA Systems June $3,750 Dubai, UAE In any of the 5 star hotels. The exact venue will be informed once finalized. Training Fees 3,750 US$ per participant for Public Training includes Materials/Handouts, tea/coffee breaks, refreshments & Buffet Lunch Training Certificate Define Management Consultancy & Training Certificate of course completion will be issued to all attendees. Language: English TRAINING OVERVIEW The present day Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systemsconsisting of SCADA hosts, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and field devicesmonitor and control process equipment and systems from multiple locations andexchange data from various distributed control systems along the local and widearea networks. In addition, today s emphasis on using Open Standards such as communication protocols (DNP3, TCP/IP and IEC 60870), hardware and software, as well as focusing on keeping the costs down. One of the latest developments in remote access is hosting the SCADA system in a cloudbased environment. This enables users to significantly reduce costs and achieve greater reliability, while gaining the ability to remotely access data from a wide variety of hardware platforms over many types of networks. This comprehensive course covers the latest and advanced communication protocols used in SCADA systems. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
2 Describe the essentials of SCADA systems Describe why open systems are important List the main advantages of using DNP3 and IEC Describe the essentials of the layered communications architecture Describe the essentials of the SCADA hardware and software Describe the key components of an RTU List the different communication philosophies used Describe the RS-232 and RS-485 standards List the key components of the Modbus protocol Explain the seven different layers of the OSI model Relate the DNP3 model to the appropriate layers of the OSI model Describe the DNP3 protocol message structure Describe the operation of DNP3 Describe MODBUS and MODBUS PLUS. Describe protocols for Local Devices (Local Area Network, Field devices to PLC/RTU and from PLC/RTU to SCADA. Sensor Network which are simple basic ON/OFF Field devices connecting. Fieldbus Networks which are used to connect analog and smart devices. Control Network which are used for peer to peer connections between control system such as DCS/SCADA, Analyzers and Safety PLC Systems Wide Area Networks (WAN). Fiber Optic based Network Wireless Radio /Satellite Network. WHO SHOULD ATTEND The Course is designed for personnel with a need to understand the techniques required to use and apply SCADA and DNP3 industrial communications technology as productively and economically as possible. This includes engineers and technicians involved with: Control and instrumentation Control system Electrical installations Field technical support Maintenance IT Personnel Instrumentation Maintenance Technicians Electrical Engineers and Technicians Plant Operations Engineers, Supervisors and Operators Maintenance Supervisors Project Engineers TRAINING METHODOLOGY The latest educational methods and strategies will be employed. The course is designed to maximize delegate benefit from the outset.
3 Questions are encouraged throughout; this provides opportunities for participants to discuss with the presenter and others, specific problems and appropriate solutions. All delegates take away a detailed and comprehensive copy of the material presented; therefore minimal note taking is encouraged to ensure maximum delegate participation and attention. Practical hands-on training ensures knowledge retention. At the end of the session there will be a question-and-answer session to allow participants enough time to seek answers to grey areas and to seek clarifications to any misconceptions or problems they may have regarding the subject concerned to the course. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. 30% Lectures 30% Workshops and work presentation 20% Group Work& Practical Exercises 20% Videos& General Discussions COURSE CONTENTS Module (01) Introduction 1.1.
