Windows constantly caches READ activity to the file-system cache WRITES don t get same benefits, and HAVE to be committed to disk Why does this matter? All writes need to be protected Standard methods of RAID apply 2-6x overhead So what does this mean? If most of the activity is WRITE, and needs to be protected then VDI solutions have to be optimized for heavy WRITE workloads 12
