Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cable or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate properly, or has been dropped. This triangle flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of non-insulated dangerous voltage within the product s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. Warning: to reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel. This exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding plug. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult and electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. WARNING: Only use attachments/accessories specified or provided by the manufacturer (such as the exclusive power cable and fuse). WARNING: The mains plug/appliance coupler/direct plug-in adapter is used as disconnections device; the disconnections device shall remain readily operable. CAUTION: These servicing instructions are for use by qualified personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the operating instructions unless you are qualified to do so. Do not install this equipment in a confined or built-in space such as a book case, drawers or carrying bags, and keep ventilated in open space; the ventilation should not be impeded. 3 Getting Started The MPF-1 provides outstanding performance in a robust design, offering superior protection against abnormal power circuit conditions. Input: 3/7 Unfiltered and Unprotected VAC, 50/60Hz Output: Filtered and Protected VAC, 50/60Hz Unpacking Unpack the product fully. The carton should contain: The Tone Control Labs MPF-1 Mains Power Filter Power Plug and Cable for input Power Socket and Cable for output Welcome card Operating Features: Voltage Spike/Surge Protection, interference from atmospheric discharges and line surges; Filter Noise generated from other equipment on the mains power line; Filter EMI/RFI coupled to mains power lines. If an item is missing or damaged, report this to your dealer as soon as possible. Retain the packing for safe transport of your unit. If you dispose of the packing, do so with regard to any recycling regulations in your area. Placement Place the unit on a sturdy shelf or table, on the floor or a rack. If you use an equipment rack, ensure the unit has adequate ventilation.

4 Input / Output Panel Features 3 Fuse 4/7 The MPF-1 will accommodate both 120 and 230/240 VAC sources. The 5 Amp slow-blow fuse supplied with the unit is designed to protect your unit and output connections against damage from either voltage source. To remove the fuse, disconnect the AC input power cable and rotate this connector in the anti-clockwise direction. Replace the blown fuse with a slow-blow T5A 250V, 5x20mm. 1 Power Switch Push this switch vertically to the (I) position to apply power to the unit. There is no light/visual indicator in order to save energy. 2 Input Cable The MPF-1 is supplied with a non-detachable three conductor cable and local standard compatible connector. Never disconnect the earth pin of the AC line cable/connector as this is for your protection as the devices connected to the output of the MPF-1. 4 Output Cable The MPF-1 is supplied with a non-detachable three conductor cable and local standard compatible connector. Never disconnect the earth pin of the AC line cable/connector as this is for your protection as the devices connected to the output of the MPF-1.

6 Warranty 6/7 Tone Control Labs Tone Control Labs (TCL) warrants this product against any defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from the original date of purchase. Should you experience any difficulty with this TCL product, please contact us as described below. If it is determined that the product has become defective within the warranty period and must be returned to the factory, TCL will issue a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and shipping and packaging instructions. Return shipping will be paid by TCL within the United Kingdom only. This warranty shall not apply to any goods that have been repaired or altered by anyone other than TCL or a TCL authorized service centre. This warranty does not cover damage to the product resulting from accidents or misuse. This is your sole warranty. There are no warranties which extend beyond the terms described herein.
