This contains a great deal of information about the build standard of the unit, allowing dcs to advise on the suitability of software updates, whether a hardware update is advisable and (sometimes) the cause of a particular problem. The following example is based on a Delius with serial number DE-0B5-6S8-1A9-2C4-5F A typical serial number DE 0B5 6S8 1A9 2C4 5F This code group means: PODUCT CODE. DE = Delius, EG = Elgar / Elgar Plus, PU = Purcell, E = erdi, S = erdi a Scala, N = erona, DE = erdi Encore, P8i = P8i, SCK = Scarlatti Clock, SDC = Scarlatti DAC, STT = Scarlatti Transport, SUP = Scarlatti Upsampler, PP = Puccini Player, PUU = Puccini U-Clock, PCK = Paganini Clock, PDC = Paganini DAC, PTT = Paganini Transport, PUP = Paganini Upsampler, DDC = Debussy U-DAC. OPTIONS CODE. First character = product options (e.g. interface fitted). Second character: B = Black, S = Silver. Third character = voltage setting: 1 = 100, 2 = 115/120, 3 = 200, 4 = 215/220, 5 = 230/240. Products designed between 2005 and 2008 have only 2 voltage settings: 1 = , 4 = Products manufactured after 2008 have 5 voltage settings. CONTO BOAD CODE. The build standard of the Control board. A small number of 6A & 6B Control Boards of an older design were manufactured in 1998 as batches 032 & 033. These can be distinguished by the batch numbers, and through being fitted to older-style products, mainly Elgar and 972.) TOP BOAD CODE. This covers the build standard of the case parts, mains transformer, Power Board, Boards, back panel wiring and anything else. CONTO BOAD SEIA NUMBE. Each Control Board has a unique serial number, this is usually used in the unit serial number (e.g. D067099). Older units will have a 5-digit serial number (e.g. D06799). The first 3 digits are the batch code, which will be consistent with the Control Board Code. More recent designs developed since 2006 use a 4-digit serial number (e.g. DE3456).
