3 Power & Control Sys CANPOWER Power House Canrig is committed to manufacturing safe and reliable systems that provide all the power and control required for electrical equipment on your drilling rig. The Canrig power house provides a high-quality solution for electric power distribution on land and offshore drilling rigs. In addition to PLC controlled VFD units, the Canrig power house includes all of the required power support components such as a main switchboard, generator control, motor control center, small power distributions and transformers to power up all of the electrical consumers on your rig. Each power house has a customized assembly due to differing rig equipment requirements. The system is designed with flexible PLC input/output that can be expanded to accommodate any size rig and may be easily assigned and configured for varying equipment requirements. The main components such as the generator control, main switchboard, and VFD units are field proven and driven by Canrig s own developed firmware for drilling which ensure a perfectly matched and highly reliable system with no interfaces to third-party equipment. All components are specially developed or selected for harsh drilling and environmental conditions. On request, a remote access client can be installed in the power house. In case of failure, a Canrig service technician can log into the system and rectify the problem, wherever the operation is based in the world, without any need to travel.
