What is TPMS The principle behind tire pressure monitoring systems Direct and Indirect systems Direct-measurement tire pressure monitoring systems measure the tire pressure and temperature in each tire. A direct system can recognize both slow leaks and fast tire pressure losses, and, depending on the vehicle manufacture features, displays this information on the driver's information system. This system is more precise than an indirect system which calculates pressure by evaluating signals form wheel-rotation sensors. How direct systems TPMS works TPMS is fitted to the valve in the rim of the wheel. Each of the four sensors measures the temperature and air pressure independently for each tire and sends the data via radio signals to the vehicle's central control unit. How TPMS warns The TPMS sensor notifies the driver accurately and instantly with a light on the dashboard when the pressure in the tires is too high or low and which tire is incorrect if the vehicle is equipped with this feature. The legal situation regarding TPMS Legislation in the EU. In Europe, ECE-R 64 stipulates that all new vehicles registered for the first time from November 2014 onwards must be equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems. They began to be installed from January 2014 onwards. Legislation in the USA Since 2008, every newly registered vehicle has had to have a tire pressure monitoring system fitted (THREAD ACT). Around 70 million vehicles are now equipped with them, 98% of these with direct-measurement systems because of the benefits. Korea and other Asian countries Legal regulations are in the process of being developed there. Tire pressure monitoring systems are expected to become mandatory equipment in new vehicles from 2015 onwards. 3

4 2. Safety Instructions. To prevent personal injury or damage to TPM tool, read this instruction manual first and observe the following safety precautions: Avoid contact with water or other fluid. Avoid mechanical shock. Must read instructions before use. Do not use or store the tool in an area where it is exposed to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. Only qualified personnel may repair this device. This device is a radio transmitter and receiver. WARNING: This equipment emits electromagnetic and electronic waves that may interfere with the safe operation of pacemakers. 4

Charger not connected: - Green blinking: Battery Ok. - Red blinking: Battery discharged. Blinking Red/Green: Diagnosis or Sensor programming in progress. - Green fixed for 10s if Sensor diagnosis or sensor programming Ok - Red fixed for 10s if Sensor diagnosis or sensor programming problem. Power Button: Press Power Button to turn on device. When is connected Usb cable to charger or PC the equipment power on automatically without press Power Button. Trigger Button: For activate the wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor. This button must first be activated by software in settings menu. 6 4. Bluetooth configuration. 4.1 Windows Turn on Tpm Tool pressing Power Button. Turn on Bluetooth on your Windows 8.1 device. Go to PC Settings and then to PC and devices. Select the Bluetooth section where you will see a switch for turning on the Bluetooth chip on your Windows 8.1 device. Set it to On and Windows 8.1 immediately starts looking for Bluetooth devices. After a couple of seconds, Windows 8.1 displays your TPM Tool. The name is RG????, where???? are the last 4 numbers of serial number. Windows 8.1 says that the TPM Tool is ready to pair. Select the newly discovered TPM Tool and press Pair. You won't see this button without selecting the mouse first. Then enter de security code

7 4.2 Android Turn on Tpm Tool pressing Power Button. In Android phone/tablet go to Home, Menu, Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings. Select the Bluetooth box/switch to turn on enabling. Open IntelliSens app: Select Settings and tap the button to begin the search of Tpm Tool: When the Tpm tool is found and paired (if is required some code for pairing is 0000) the BT Address, marked on label of TPM Tool, must be in the box XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. Tap Save button to save all settings. 7

Activation of auto power-off. Button for save the settings. Is necessary reboot the software to applicate the new settings Settings Menu Exit or cancel the changes Button for Equipment Hardware Test. Only authorized personal. Configure Bluetooth Com Pot Number. The HC1000 must be power on and Bluetooth paired with windows before to make this operation.(point 5.1 of this manual) Configure USB Virtual Com Port Number. The drivers will be installed with this function. If drivers are installed, not perform the drivers installation. HC1000 must be connected by USB cable. 12 5.3 Vehicle Selection Is possible select vehicle searching tests made previously and were saved, by Plate number, VIN number, Customer name or Sensor Part Number. Otherwise is the car to test is selected by Brand Model Year 12

13 When car is selected, is showed the different options to perform: Vehicle History Show tests made previously and were saved in this car selected. The saved tests can be of complete vehicle check, individual sensor check, clone/replace sensor To show the saved data, select the test and press. Also is possible delete saved records selecting the record to delete and press 13

14 When saved data is showed, is possible again perform operations such as check/clone sensors in car selected. 14

15 5.3.2 Vehicle Test Vehicle Test: To check all TPM sensors installed in vehicle Change presentation format Hexadecimal or Decimal Operating Frequency of the tool. USA (315Mhz) EUROPE (433Mhz). Save Test. Print Vehicle Test. Check Sensor, select check button depending Wheel to test. Clone sensor, in necessary check sensor previously. 15

16 5.3.3 Sensor Check Sensor Check: To check individual sensor. If tool receive correctly the data from valve, sounds a beep and display Identification code, pressure, battery condition and temperature. When the Sensor information it has been read, can be cloned pressing Clone button and following on-screen instructions Universal Sensor Universal Sensor: To clone an old sensor using universal sensors and OBD reprogramming Controller is avoid. To program, select universal sensor brand select mode ID number generation, it can be: Copy Sensor ID: The ID is copied reading from original sensor Generate Random ID: The ID is generated by TPM Tool. Manual ID: The ID is input manually (this ID was read from original sensor) Then select the wheel position and press Start Button (put sensor near of TPM Tool). When finish will be displayed a message if the operation was performed successfully or not. 16
