1 Specifications/price list CMA CNC controlled gantry drilling machines type RAPID-DRILL GRD CNC and GRD 60Z CNCZ This newly concepted drilling machine is designed for the fully automatic execution of drilling work in products with rather big outer dimensions. The X- (longitudinal), Y- (perpendicular) and Z-(vertical) movement (RPM, feed-rate and drill depth) are programmable on the centrally placed touch-screen control. The spindle delivers a wide range of variable speeds by means of an 8.9 kw A-synchronic motor. All axes are equipped with double, over-dimensioned, top quality (INA - THK), hardened and precision ground linear guides. The drilling-head movement is executed by an a-synchronic motor through an over dimensioned ball-screw system (The full head moved in Z-direction, not the spindle) with a stroke of 500 mm (19.685"). The drill head's feed-rate is variably adjustable. Because of this, short cycle times go hand in hand with long tool-life (for optimal cutting -conditions). Beside a standard drilling cycle, other sequences can be programmed like: jump-feed drilling for tube & profiles, deep-hole drilling with chip-breaking, counter sinking, tapping and flow-drilling (low feed-rate during warming up and subsequently a high feed-rate). 5 OMRON TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL Dialogue & DIN/ISO Programming, the best of both worlds! The control, in multiple aspects, is the heart of the machine. Because of that, it has to offer a combination of ease of working, precise and reliable. Programming: Easy to program means several things: All applications have to be completely programmed in a simple fashion. During the programming, the operator should not be burdened by hundreds of possibilities to choose from and that he doesn't need for the job or that he needs to enter as routines that are superfluous because they don't play a roll. The control should only show the required functions that are needed and ask for the data needed to perform that function. In short: Just the required data, no more no less. To realize that, the software that lies behind the "interface" has to be open. This means that CMA, the manufacturer of these NC drilling machines, has the possibility to configure the software to a make a great fit for the operator. Based on specific operator suggestions, the software can be optimized. (Example: to add a function symbol, or a routine for a particular product run) The OMRON Control offers you these possibilities. Therefore, OMRON is not only CMA's preferred system, but also the end-user's preferred system. The OMRON control offers these possibilities. Dialog programming for coordinate and standard work-cycles Simply enter the required data and save it under a logical name. The complete work cycle of the part (or different parts that are clamped on the machine simultaneously) are entered in a sequence list and stored. The programmed parts can be worked in a serie of parts at once or, for instance, be worked in a pendle-mode. Load-unload on one side while working the other side. Page 5 of 17

6 Dialogue programming of coordinates and standard working cycles Simply enter the data in the macro and save under a (logical) name. The complete job (even several different work pieces clamped simultaneously) can be programmed in a sequence. The operator can choose to produce all parts in 1 run or work in 2 areas (loading new parts while machine is producing in the other area). Page 6 of 17

8 Free programming in ISO (G-codes) at the machine: Standard cycles like drilling, tapping, countersinking, flowdrilling, circular and oblong milling are programmable through macros. Cycles which are not included in the macros can be programmed in ISO (G-codes). In ISO it s possible to program complex shapes with interpolated X/Y-movements. The system offers 3-axis (X/Y/Z) interpolation for helical milling and Thread-milling. Page 8 of 17

9 External Programming: Drillcam Package from Vandenbussche The Drillcam Package is an ideal solution for programming more complex parts. Besides converting DXF, DWG, DSTV data, the CAM3000 software offers a drawing packages A special feature of the software is the possibility to increased automation and optimisation by means of smart macro s. - Programmed items like material, thickness and hole diameter are automatically recognized at future, similar jobs. This means that in those cases no additional programming is required - Surface heights of claming systems are already known. Just enter where you want to place the part: on the table, at the base of the vice of at the recessed pockets of the top of the vice. Enter the approach feed-rate an work feed-rate and the Z-axis movement is automatically set. - A variation of holes: blck hole, through hole, tapped hole, countersunk hole, through and through hole are automaticall recognized by their specific color and the right tooling is automatically being programmed as well (one tool or a combination of tools) plus the positions as well as the Z-axis values are automatically being programmed. - Multiple (different or identical) parts can simply be allocated to already defined zero-points or clampingsystems. 11 Executions: The GRD 25, 28, 32, 38 and 42 respectively drill a max hole diameter of 25, 28, 32, 38 or 42 mm and have a max RPM of resp. 5000, 4000, 3000, 2400 or 2000 RPM.
