2 VALVETRAB-SQ The VALVETRAB-SQ product range includes surge protection devices for American power supply systems. These have been specially designed for the American installation requirements. Protection for all installation locations: VAL-SQ SE (Service Entrance - for the main supply) VAL-SQ SP (Sub-Panel - for the subdistribution panels) VAL-SQ CC (Control Cabinet - for the control cabinet) VAL-SQ SI (Small Installation - for the equipment). The common use of protective devices offers complete protection against destructive surge voltages. Protective devices can be mounted next to the control cabinet or directly on electrical devices. The devices have a protective circuit with high discharge capacity of rated surge currents up to 200 ka per phase. The individual fuse for every protective path integrated in the design lends additional safety to the products. The entire product range has been approved as per the UL nd edition Comprehensive protection Cascaded (stepped) use of VAL-SQ protective devices in building installation ensures effective protection of electrical systems. 5 Surge protection devices Device protection for the service entrance The VAL-SQ SE provides maximum surge protection for the service entrance. These units are available with 120, 160 and 200 ka surge current ratings to protect electronic equipment in industrial, medical and commercial applications. The VAL-SQ SE utilizes a hybrid suppression circuit, Sine Wave Tracking, in a single, replaceable module. It provides both transient protection and up to -30 db of noise filtration.
