Housed in a rugged metal enclosure, SV9000 series drives are shock and vibration resistant, and meet the requirements of UL, cul and CE. They are available in a complete range of enclosure styles chassis (IP00 and IP20), NEMA 1 (IP21), and NEMA 12 (IP54). The compact design and installation flexibility of the SV9000 make it the logical solution for new or retrofit installations. The drive may be installed vertically or horizontally, and the control panel may be remote mounted using an RS232 cable. Cutler-Hammer understands that if it takes too long to program or use any product, you re losing valuable uptime. That s exactly why we developed the SV9000 series AF drives. A Unique Control panel Makes Interface Easy and Convenient Interfacing with SV9000 drives is intuitive, due to its easy-to-use control panel design. Large, tactile buttons with verbal and visual cues ensure there s no confusion when operators need to make quick decisions. Its large illuminated LCD screen leads the operator through the decision-making process. Program Through the Control Panel, or Through a PC with SVDrive Whether you re programming your drive with its control panel, or through your PC with SVDrive, configuring the SV9000 is simple. With SVDrive you can set all parameters on your PC, control and monitor the drive online, save FOR OEMs, UPGRADING CUSTOMER PARAMETER SETS IS AS EASY AS SENDING A NEW PROGRAMMED SVGraphic CONTROL PANEL. ONCE THE CONTROL PANEL IS SNAPPED IN PLACE AND THE NEW PARAMETERS ARE UPLOADED, THE SV9000 IS RECONFIGURED TO YOUR EXACT SPECIFICATIONS. parameters to upload to other SV9000 drives, print copies of the parameter list, and view and print trending reports for all parameters. With the optional Graphic control panel, you can move programmed parameter sets from one drive to another in seconds. Unhook it from one drive and snap it into place on another and you ve done everything necessary to begin to transfer the configuration you need. 6 With SVReady, Built-in Applications Get You Up and Running Quickly. The SV9000 comes preprogrammed with selectable applications that are tailored for a wide variety of uses including material handling, packaging, extruders and mixers, pumps and fans, and cranes, etc. For unique requirements, our SVEngine software can be used to create custom applications. The Basic application includes a single fixed set of 18 parameters (all with default values). Speed reference can be set with current or voltage signals, with a potentiometer, or from the control panel. This application is suited for most installations. The Standard application has the same control connections and signals of the Basic application, however all digital inputs and outputs are programmable. SVReady BUILT-IN APPLICATIONS ENSURE YOU LL GET UP AND RUNNING QUICKLY. JUST SELECT THE ONE THAT BEST SUITS YOUR APPLICATION. The Local/Remote application is useful when the drive is controlled from two operating locations. The active control source is selected with a digital input. The speed reference source and all outputs are programmable. The Multi-Step Speed application is selected when a number of pre-set fixed speeds are needed. A total of nine speed settings are available: basic
7 speed, seven multi-step speeds, and a jogging speed. Speed selection is accomplished with digital inputs. The PI-Control application features two control inputs. Input A goes directly to the PI controller while input B is a direct speed reference. The set value of the controller can come from an analog input, a SVEngine Block Programming potentiometer or from the control panel. The actual value may be an analog input or a mathematical function of the analog inputs. This application is useful where temperature and pressure must remain constant. The Multi-Purpose application is the most flexible configuration for WITH CUTLER-HAMMER S SVEngine SOFTWARE YOU CAN MODIFY EXISTING APPLICATIONS, OR CREATE NEW APPLICATIONS FOR YOUR SV9000 DRIVE. controlling the drive. Frequency reference can be an analog input, joystick, potentiometer or a mathematical function of the analog inputs. Multi-step or jogging speeds can also be programmed. The Pump/Fan application can be used for single or multiple pumps or fans. Control the speed of one pump or fan while automatically starting and/or stopping up to three other pumps or fans. The PI control application is used to regulate the speed of the controlled pump.
8 Sensorless Vector Control. Precise Control for Demanding Applications. Advanced Motor Control The heart of the motor control of the SV9000 is formed by the sensorless vector control, the adaptive motor model and the highly developed ASIC circuit. The vector control is done in a system of stator flux coordinates. Control is not affected by changes in the parameters of the motor. Measurement of the motor current is controlled by ASIC to avoid current ripple. Motor voltage values are obtained directly from the ASIC. Torque value and magnetizing current are calculated every millisecond TORQUE VALUE AND MAGNETIZING CURRENT ARE CALCULATED EVERY MILLISECOND BY THE VECTOR CALCULATION AND SENT TO THE MOTOR CONTROLLER. by the vector calculation and sent to the motor controller. Using these values the controller will form the set values for the ASIC circuit that controls the drive s IGBTs so the motor runs at an optimum operating point, and produces the right torque and precise speed.
9 Sensorless Vector Control Vector calculation is activated every millisecond using measured momentary values. These values are given to the motor model that calculates torque and flux. The calculation does not include integrators that could cause problems due to drifting (inaccuracies in parameters and measurements or WITH THE SV9000 SENSORLESS VECTOR CONTROL, THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF CLOSED LOOP MOTOR CONTROL IS VIRTUALLY ACHIEVED WITHOUT THE NEED FOR FEEDBACK FROM AN ENCODER. changes in component values).
