4 Printer Basics Select copy, scan, or fax Enter the feature menus Access the address book Power Saver on, off Enter the system menus Select scan to Redial a fax, or enter a pause Clear all changed settings Clear a character Power On, Off Arrow buttons scroll up, down, forward, and back through the menus Manual dial Cancel the current job OK button accepts the menu selection Start a copy, scan, fax, or print job Back/Return button goes up one level in the menu 4

5 Xerox Easy Printer Manager USB Ethernet Wi-Fi CentreWare Internet Services Ethernet Wi-Fi Printer Basics You can access printer settings, maintenance, diagnostic features, and the User Guide using the Xerox Easy Printer Manager. You can also scan from the printer to your computer. You can find the Xerox Easy Printer Manager in Start > All Programs > Xerox Printers in Windows, or on the dock in Mac OSX. CentreWare Internet Services enables you to access printer configuration details, paper and supplies status, job status, and diagnostic functions over a TCP/IP network. You can also manage fax, , and network scanning address books. To connect, type the printer's IP address in your computer's web browser. The IP address is available on the Configuration page. 5

9 Scanning USB Ethernet Wi-Fi Loading the original g/m 2 (16 28 lb. Bond) X Y X: mm ( in.) Y: mm ( in.) When connected with USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi you can send scanned files from the printer control panel to a connected computer. You can also scan from a connected computer. To set up scanning for your connection, see the User Guide > Installation and Setup > Scan to PC Setup. Scanning 9

10 Scanning to a Computer USB Ethernet Wi-Fi Press the Scan button Select Scan to PC, then press OK Scroll to select a destination, then press OK Scroll to select a profile if desired, then press OK 5 6 Scanning Press the Start button Navigate the menus to select scanning options The Clear All button restores default settings. 10

11 Scanning from a Computer using Windows 7 USB Launch Windows Fax and Scan application, then click New Scan 3.1 Click Preview, and confirm or change settings Confirm the scanner Click Scan Scanning 11

13 Scanning from a Computer using Macintosh 10.5 and later USB Launch Image Capture application Click Overview, and select the scan area Confirm or change other scan settings Click Scan Scanning 13

14 Faxing Loading the original g/m 2 (16 28 lb. Bond) X Y X: mm ( in.) Y: mm ( in.) You can enter fax numbers manually or store them in an address book. To set up an address book see the User Guide > Address Book. You can send a fax directly from a computer. See the User Guide > Fax > Fax from PC. To set up fax, see the User Guide > Installation and Setup > Fax Setup. Faxing 14
