1 Installation Instructions for Standard* Ford Police Interceptor Utility Does not properly fit instrument panel in an Interceptor Utility with Interior Upgrade Code 65U Upgrade Package Includes: Cloth Seats Floor Mats, Front and Rear Required tools to complete installation. 3/8 Socket 7mm Socket 8mm Socket 10mm Socket T-10 Torx Bit Flat head Screwdriver #2 Phillips Screwdriver File Wire Cutters/Crimpers Plastic Cutting Tool (small air saw recommended) A/V EXTENDER MUST BE PROPERLY CONNECTED TO CHASSIS GROUND 1st And 2nd Row Carpet Floor Covering Center Floor Console Less Shifter with Unique Police Console Finish Plate Includes Console Top Plate - Finish 3 (incl. 2 Cup Holders) Complete assembly in vehicle NOTE: Most OEM hardware that is removed will be reused. Place all unused OEM parts and hardware in bag and box to be returned with vehicle. Keep the protective covers on cable GSM70096 (Red 15 CAT6A) during installation. Remove covers prior to connecting to the Embedded Processor and Audio/Video Extender. When removing or installing plugs in dash panels or any electronic device, make sure to properly depress or disengage strain relief latches prior to pulling on plug and harness. Refer to wiring diagram and other instructions for optional parts not shown in this instruction. Disconnect vehicle battery prior to installation (10mm socket). Installation Recommendations 1. Implement good cable management practices: a. Cables should have gradual bends to prevent damage to cable. b. Excess CAT6A cable lengths should be routed into a circular loop with as large a diameter as possible. c. Zip-Ties should be adjusted loose to snug to prevent damage to cable. d. Use a cable loom over the CAT6A cables run from the processor to the trunk area to provide additional protection. e. Keep the connector covers on the CAT6A cables and VGA/HDMI until installed into the AVX and computer dock. f. Keep cables out of pinch zones 2. If center tunnel plate option is included, route CAT6A cable under the tunnel plate to trunk, otherwise route along door sill to trunk. 3. You can use longer than 3 foot video and USB cables to connect the trunk computer to the AVX if necessary. 4. The AVX Ground wire should be kept as short as possible. 5. Use Strain Relief to prevent cable damage for the AVX cables (CAT6A, Video, USB). 6. Confirm ICS functionality before reassembling the dash. 7. Check SYSTEM application on ICS for any Red Ovals under Power & Link columns. 8. Confirm USB ports (in-dash + console extender) are functioning properly by connecting a USB keyboard or USB stick. 9. Use trunk computer to confirm video settings are correct to display on ICS. If agency s computer is not available at time of install, use any laptop to connect to the AVX and confirm video can be setup to be shown properly on ICS display. 10. Set ICS Date & Time once installation is complete.

2 Havis Integrated Control System Installation Instructions Remove the OEM lower instrument panel side trim panels. Remove the center tunnel plate using an 8mm socket if necessary for new console application or routing wires. Remove center stack side trim panels for access to the control panel. Remove lower center stack panel using a 10mm socket. Disconnect wiring from lower center stack panel as needed. Remove center stack control panel and upper ducts using a 7mm socket. Unplug single connector from the removed panel. 2

3 Havis Integrated Control System Remove the 7mm screws from the display and OEM amplifier, and unplug as necessary. Remove HVAC duct work in order to transfer to the new Instrument Panel using a T-10 torx bit. Then use a flat head screwdriver to unclip the top. Carefully align snap features at top of vent assembly to new instrument panel and snap into place. Reattach duct assembly to the new Instrument Panel using original OEM hardware. (T-10 Torx bit) Tighten to.57 Nm (5 lb-in) Attach USB panel into new Instrument Panel assembly with backing plate and 10/32 nut. (3/8 socket) Tighten to 1 Nm (10 lb-in) If you have the OEM SYNC system (USB & Audio Connection), transfer AUX panel into new Instrument Panel assembly. (Snap fit, no hardware required) If vehicle is equipped with OEM SYNC system, the SYNC module is located behind the center dash panel above the AM/FM radio. Unplug the OEM USB cable from module, attach provided ICS adaptor cable #GSM70091 to USB connector (tape together) and plug into the ICS processor. Connect ICS plug from #GSM70076 or #GSM70111 harness into back OEM audio panel (See ICS wiring diagram). 3

4 For Model Year Utility, remove the tire pressure monitoring system module from the back end of lower IP using a 10mm socket, and transfer to the new instrument panel. Using the supplied plastite screws and a Philip screwdriver, mount the monitoring system module to the lower IP assembly. Tighten to.57 Nm (5 lb-in) WARNING: Do not over tighten screws and do not use power tools. Remove mounting brackets from OEM CD amplifier and reattach to the Embedded Processor, using OEM hardware. (#2 Phillips Screwdriver) Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) New processor is now ready with mounting brackets. To install the Embedded Processor, follow the ICS wiring instructions. NOTE: There may be some variation depending on your specific peripherals. Plug all harnesses into Embedded Processor. (See ICS wiring diagram) NOTE: The monitor is powered through the ethernet cable. 4

5 Install Embedded Processor into the OEM CD amplifier location, using original OEM screws. (7mm socket) Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) NOTE: If vehicle has the OEM Sync system, make sure to tie-off the unused blue tooth cable so it doesn t rattle. All other wiring should also be properly wire tied. Plug harnesses into Touch Screen Display and HVAC controls. Make sure to loop harnesses and wire tie for strain relief. Carefully install display assembly into dash using OEM hardware. 7mm on the top, 10mm on the bottom. Run CAT6A cable, power wires, and customer supplied USB extension cables from Instrument Panel to rear of vehicle/ computer hard drive. Because the CAT6A cable is limited to 15 feet, the shortest route to the trunk is recommended (ie. straight back between the driver and passenger seats). (7mm and 10mm socket) Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) NOTE: You may want to check the display operating functions at this time before the dash is completely reassembled. (Reconnect vehicle battery for testing) Reinstall the center tunnel plate, then the lower instrument panel side trim panels. If you have a printer or other peripheral device that requires a USB connection to the computer, run customer provided USB cables to the rear computer location. USB cable extensions are NOT provided with the Integrated Control System. Run CAT6A cable and any other customer supplied cables from the instrument panel to the rear of the vehicle. Keep the CAT6A protective covers in place until connected to the Audio/Video Extender. The Audio/Video Extender should be located close enough to the laptop to allow proper installation of the 36 USB, Audio and Video cables (VGA or HDMI). Longer cables (customer supplied) may be used between the Audio/Video Extender and laptop if needed. Be careful not to stress any of the cables. WARNING: The installer shall provide proper cable service loop and strain relief at the Audio Video Extender and Laptop. 5

6 Installer shall run a ground wire from the Audio Video Extender (AVX) metal housing to a good chassis ground. Scratching off existing paint and using a star washer under the ground wire connections is recommended.
