3 Features The VAMP relays include all the main properties you have been used to see in the medium voltage distribution systems. Additionally the relays include a number of other innovative and unique features. The following basic functions are the same in all relays. Basic features Comprehensive and versatile setting and programming possibilities. Programmable blocking and output matrix. Disturbance recorder and evaluation software Several communication protocols are available in the relays. Continuous self-supervision. Robust metal enclosure. Wide auxiliary supply voltage range. Two mechanical sizes: 100-serie and 200-serie. User Interface Settings, parameters and metered values are accessible from the front panel. The same values are also available via the PCconnection on the front panel of the relays. The Windows compatible, free of charge, VAMPSET software package can be used with all VAMP relays and the power monitoring unit (VAMP 260). Selective arc Unique features All VAMP overcurrent relays can be equipped with arc sensors. The sensors are installed, for instance, in the cable compartment of the outgoing feeders. Thanks to optional integrated transducers, any measured and calculated values can freely be connected to the ma outputs. 4 Communication protocols, VAMPSET setting, configuration and disturbance evaluation software VAMP relays and the power monitoring unit can be connected to an automation system utilizing of the various communication protocols used in industrial and utility applications. IEC , SPA bus, MODBUS RTU, Modbus/TCP and Profibus DP protocols are supported. Profibus DP protocol is widely used for the process control as well as for the power distribution monitoring and control in the process industry. VAMP relays can be connected to the Ethernet network via the Modbus/ TCP protocol. ABB s SPA bus communication protocol is widely used at power distribution substations in utility and industrial applications. In this example VAMP relays are connected to a MODBUS network. PLC is a master for the system. Configuration and on-line monitoring of the VAMP relays and power monitoring units can either be done via display or using the VAMPSET software. The same software supports evaluation of disturbance recorder files from the VAMP relays. The program is free and can be downloaded from our home page at VAMPSET software is compatible with Windows XP / 2000 / NT / 98 / 95 operating system.

5 Arc Protection System type VAMP 220/VAMP 221 Vamp Ltd is a world leader in supplying arc systems. 6 Overvoltage, undervoltage and frequency relay VAMP 135 The VAMP 135 represents a very cost-effective scheme. The relay includes a combination of voltage and frequency functions and is ideal for power plants, utilities and industrial applications. The line voltages are calculated using the measured phase voltages. The residual voltage is calculated using the measured phase voltages. No open-delta transformer is needed. Line mode The relay is connected to line voltages U 12, U 23 and U 31. The residual overvoltage U 0 > and U 0 >> are not available. Line mode + U 0 The relay is connected to line voltages U 12, U 23 and to a residual voltage U 0. The non-measured line voltage U 31 is calculated using the two measured line voltages.

7 Overcurrent and earthfault relay VAMP 140 The combined overcurrent and earth fault relay VAMP 140 is a cost effective relay for overcurrent, short circuit and earth fault. The possibility to connect arc sensors to the relay and transfer light information to other relays adds a new dimension to the schemes. Pre-fault current, fault type and elapsed time are stored from the last eight events. 15 minutes average and maximum current values are available in the relay. Measured and calculated values can be connected to the freely scalable ma output (option). Integrated arc speedup tripping when light and current criterias are valid simultaneously.

8 Motor relay VAMP 150 Motor relay type VAMP 150 is a cost-effective unit with all the basic functions needed for low and medium voltage motors. The relay is used to protect circuit breaker controlled three phase AC motors. The calculated temperature value, in percentage of trip limit, is available on the front panel display. The estimated remaining time, with constant load, to trip is shown to the user on the display. The relay is optionally provided with one analogue ma output representing any measured or calculated value. 9 Generator relay VAMP 210 The flexible multi-stage functions, many communication protocols and various auxiliary functions make the VAMP 210 perfect for small and medium sized generators. Application example and features The generator relay type VAMP 210 is suitable for solidly as well as high or low resistance grounded systems. The relay combines a selective ground fault, including back-up function, and a busbar earth fault. The selective directional earth fault is used in high resistance earthed systems. Low resistance or solidly earthed systems are using differential earth fault.

14 Power Monitoring Unit VAMP 260 The VAMP 260 power monitoring unit is a compact multifunction monitoring device with extensive measuring and calculation functions. The unit is based on the same hardware and software platform as the relays. The setting and programming possibilities are comprehensive and versatile.
