SPECIAL TO THIS PRODUCT: INCLUSIONS: All Loadbuster Disconnects are equipped with attachment hooks for use with Loadbuster, S&C s portable Loadbreak tool. All Loadbuster Disconnects are furnished with tinplated terminal pads as a standard feature. Crossarm Vertical and Crossarm Style Disconnects are supplied with a backup member and hardware, suitable for single- and double-crossarm mounting. EXCLUSIONS: Disconnects do not include connectors. Various connector arrangements are available separately as listed in the tables on page 7. Branch-Feeder Style Disconnects do not include backup member and hardware, or dead-ending brackets. Backup members and hardware, and dead-ending brack ets for these disconnects are available separately as listed in the tables on page. Overhead Pole-Top Style Disconnects do not include a mounting bracket. A mounting bracket for these disconnects is available as listed in the table on page. SPECIFICATION DEVIATIONS: S&C Loadbuster Dis connects in Branch-Feeder, Main-Feeder, and Station Styles are offered with a choice of Cypoxy m or porce lain insulators as found in the tables on pages 2 and 3. The standard insulator color is gray. For special insulators or special connectors, consult your nearest S&C Sales Office. m Cypoxy is the S&C trademark for S&C s cycloaliphatic epoxy resin system. Cypoxy is nontracking, self-scouring, nonweathering... there s never a compromise of insulation integrity. How to Order a Complete Loadbuster Disconnect 1. Obtain the catalog number of the desired disconnect from the tables on pages 2, 3, and If connectors are required, select the desired connec tor arrangement from the tables on page 7. Add the indicated suffix letter to the catalog number of the dis connect selected in Step For Branch-Feeder Style Disconnects, select the desired backup member with mounting hardware and/or deadending brackets, if desired, from the tables on page. Add the indicated suffix(es) to the catalog num ber of the disconnect selected in Step 1. For Overhead Pole-Top Style Disconnects, select the mounting bracket, if desired, from the table on page. Add the indicated suffix letter to the catalog number of the disconnect selected in Step 1. How to Order Handling Tools Obtain the catalog number(s) of recommended handling tool(s) from the table on page 5. Refer to Specification Bulletin A NOTE ON CONNECTORS The Loadbuster Disconnect connector options designated C and -A are suitable for hot-line tool handling. The ter minal-pad hole design prevents the connector attachment bolt(s) from turning, and the saddle member of the connector is held against, and loosely keyed to the terminal pad by the retaining washer(s). The clamping member of the connector is, in turn, keyed to the saddle. The connector can be easily loosened and tightened by means of the hex nut(s) without either connector member turning in place. Although the bolt and the connector saddle are held cap tive, they nevertheless float so that when the hex nut is tightened all mating parts are subjected to the same high clamping pressure. With connector options -G and -K for disconnects rated amperes continuous, and with connector option -H for disconnects rated 00 amperes continuous as well as overhead pole-top style disconnects rated amperes con tinuous, the attachment bolts are similarly held captive by retaining washers and are prevented from turning by the terminal-pad hole design. a S&C Loadbuster Disconnects are manufactured in accordance with a quality system certified to ISO 1:2000. 8 The Loadbuster Disconnect connector options desig nated -C and -A (see tables on page ) are suitable for hotline tool handling. The terminal-pad hole design pre vents the connector attachment bolt(s) from turning, and the saddle member of the connector is held against, and loosely keyed to, the terminal pad by the retaining washer(s).
