3 Introduction Introduction The Manual describes information about functions, recommendations for use, technical support, maintenance, packing, transportation, storage, as well as connection diagrams to electrical grid and digital interfaces. Read this manual carefully before using the device. Typical users Engineers, personnel who refers with setting, operations and maintenance. 5 General information 1 General information Figure 1.1. ENMU front and side panels. According to IEC ENMU belongs to SAMU (Stand-Alone Merging Unit) class. ENMU provides Sampled Values (SV) data transmission according to Implementation Guidelines for Digital Interface to Instrument Transformers using IEC LE. ENMU has three optical fiber Fast Ethernet 100Base-FX interfaces. «Lan A» and «Lan B» and can be configured to operate as a PRP node to provide seamless failover. ENMU digitizes the analog input signals and transmits synchronized SV data to Process Bus via optical interfaces (max. 4 streams). SV stream is used as an input signal for protection devices, power meters, PMU etc. In addition, ENMU supports data transmit via IEC and IEEE C ENMU manual. Rev

6 Features 2 Features ENMU transmits synchronized SV data according to IEC LE SV80 (sampling rate 4000 Hz (50 Hz) or 4800 Hz (60 Hz) 80 samples per cycle), and SV256 (sampling rate Hz (50 Hz) or (60 Hz) 256 samples per cycle). ENMU supports up to 4 SV streams (2 SV80, 2 SV256) with configurable data (PT voltage, measuring CT current, protective CT current). ENMU is connected to Process Bus via fiber optic Ethernet 100Base-FX «Lan А» and «Lan B» interfaces. IEC and IEEE C data transmission available via «Lan А», «Lan B» and «Lan 1». ENMU supports redundancy technology PRP according to IEC for SV streams. Unpacking ENMU, check the package contents. Compare characteristics in passport with label on front side of device. ENMU operation should be as manual only. Before connect/disconnect ENMU to digital interface or measuring inputs, make sure that all sources of power supply are disconnected. ENMU connects only to current and potential transformers with suitable characteristics. Connection to IEC LE Bus carried out in accordance with the operational documentation. Do not use ENMU in explosive or corrosive environment. Save ENMU from heating above 70 С, large temperature variations and strong electro-magnetic fields. 4.3 Mounting For safety, you must read the instructions in this manual before performing mounting and operation. Only qualified personnel should be allowed for installation. ENMU has 2 bracket for cabinet surface mounting. Allowed mounting ENMU device at any angle to the horizontal. The last version of configuration software you can download here: You need PC with Windows XP or newer and.net Framework 4. Download.NET Framework 4 distributive from the official site here: To install the program, just copy and unzip downloaded archive file in some folder on your PC. For launch the program, just run the executable file ESConfigurator.exe. After launch, you will see the program main form (see Figure 4.2). ENMU manual. Rev

15 Maintenance 5 Maintenance Maintenance should be according to this manual. Only qualified personnel should perform it. Repair of defective device produced by manufacturer. Do not open the housing during operation. Opening the ENMU voids the warranty. For preventive maintenance, follow instruction bellow: Disconnect power supply, digital interface, measuring inputs; Remove dust; Check device for defects; Check mount; Connect power supply, digital interface, measuring inputs. For cleaning use nonabrasive detergent or 70% ethanol-water solution. ENMU manual. Rev

16 Transport, packing and storage 6 Transport, packing and storage ENMU is transported in any covered transport (railway, car, aviation). Transports conditions temperature is ⁰С, relative humidity is 95 % at 30⁰С. Save ENMU from impact during the transport. ENMU is delivered in packaging case. Package has content according to page 11. Net weight up to 3 kg. Gross weight up to 4 kg. Store the device in dry and clean location. 17 Warranty information 7 Warranty information The manufacturer offers the customer a 36-month functional warranty on the instrument for faulty workmanship or parts from date of dispatch from the distributor. In all cases, this warranty is valid for 48 months from the date of production. This warranty is on a return to factory basis. The manufacturer does not accept liability for any damage caused by instrument malfunction. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for the suitability of the instrument to the application for which it was purchased. Failure to install, set up or operate the instrument according to the instructions herein will void the warranty. Only a duly authorized representative of the manufacturer may open your instrument. The unit should only be opened in a fully anti-static environment. Failure to do so may damage the electronic components and will void the warranty. ENMU manual. Rev
