2 Core Removal Core & HDD 1. Open the door. 2. Perform shutdown procedure. 3. Turn the ups power switch off. The switch is located on the left side of the UPS. 4. Disconnect all of the cables from the top of the Core. 5. Remove the cables from the front of the core. 6. With a 3/8 nut driver or socket wrench remove the four nuts securing the core. Hard Drive Removal and Installation Figure 1G Note: Hard drives are static sensitive devices. Before handling the hard drive discharge any static electricity that may have built up. 1. Loosen the four thumbscrews on the sides of the hard drive. 2. Lift the hard drive out of its mounting bay. 3. Hold the hard drive by its sides and remove the Power and IDE cables. (When removing the cables pull from the connectors to prevent damaging the cables.) 4. Note polarization of connectors and insert the Power and IDE cables from the new Core to the hard drive. 5. Slide the hard drive into the new Core s mounting bay. 6. Tighten the thumbscrews. Core Installation 1. Place Core on four mounting screws. (Be sure that there are no connectors under the core.) 2. Install four nuts on mounting screws. 3. Connect the cables to the front of the Core. 4. Connect the cables in the top of the Core. 5. Turn the Core power switch on. 6. Turn UPS power switch on. Figure 2G - Computer Core Module Amplifier Removal TO MONITOR TO AMP Amplifier 1. Disconnect amplifier power cable from the UPS marked AMP or SURGE outlet. 2. Remove the power cable from the cable clamps. 3. Disconnect all of the cables from the front of the amplifier. 4. Loosen the four phillips head screws holding down the amplifier. 5. Carefully lift the amplifier out of the jukebox. Amplifier Installation 1. Slide the amplifier into place making sure all four screws are in the mounting slots and that there are no cables behind the amplifier. Tighten all four mounting screws. 2. Route the amplifier power cable through the cable clamps and connect it to the UPS marked AMP or SURGE outlet. 3. Connect all of the cables to the amplifier. G - 2

3 Monitor Removal Monitor Be sure machine is completely shut down and monitor power cord is unplugged from the power in transfer box. 1. While supporting the monitor from the outside of the door, unscrew and remove the 4 metric screws and washers that attach the monitor to the monitor bracket. Monitor Installation 1. Remove the factory monitor mounting brackets. The monitor is shipped with tow factory-installed mounting brackets at the top and bottom edges. Remove and discard the factory brackets and hardware. 2. Install the 4 monitor holding brackets saved from the previous monitor removal step. As shown in Figure 4G. 2. Ease the monitor out of the opening in the door just enough to disconnect the monitor cables. 3. When the monitor is built out, remove the four brackets (2 long and 2 short) from the sides of the monitor. Save the hardware and brackets. 2 machine screws fasten each bracket Fig. 4G - Mounting monitor brackets 3. Connect supplied power cable to the monitor. 4. Press the monitor power button. Monitor power button Fig 5G - Monitor control buttons 5. Verify that the monitor displays the No Signal message. 6. While on, remove power cable from monitor. DO NOT touch power button. Fig. 3G - Building the Monitor out of the Door 7. Hold the monitor up to the outside of the door and connect the monitor power cable, VGA cable and the serial cable. 8. Place the monitor in the door, and loosely screw in the 4 metric screws and washers. 9. Align the monitor to cover the opening and to be flush, then tighten the 4 metric screws. 10. Power up and calibrate the touch screen monitor (see page B-4). G - 3

4 UPS UPS Removal 1. Perform shutdown procedure. 2. Turn the UPS power switch OFF. The switch is located on the front of the UPS. See picture below. 3. Unplug the UPS power cable from the power box. 4. Remove the power cable from any cable clamps. 5. Remove the cables from the top of the UPS. 6. With an 1/4 nut driver or socket wrench remove the two screws shown. 7. Remove the UPS hold down bracket. 8. Slide the UPS forward off of the mounting bracket. UPS Installation 1. Slide the UPS on the mounting bracket making sure the two shoulder screws enter the slots on the back of the UPS. 2. Install the UPS hold down bracket. 3. Install the two screws securing the UPS. 4. Route the UPS power cable through any necessary cable clamps and donnect to the power box. 5. Install the three power cables in the outlets. The monitor and amplifier power cables plug into the SURGE outlets. The CPE and Core power cables are plugged into the BATTERY SURGE outlets. 6. Plug the Jukebox. 7. 5 Dollar Bill Acceptor Dollar Bill Acceptor Removal 1. Turn the power off by pressing the power button located on the rear of the jukebox. 2. Open the door. 3. Remove the bill stacker from the DBA. 4. Gently remove the harness plugged into the DBA. 5. Using an 11/32 nut driver or socket wrench, remove the four nuts on the DBA bracket. 6. Remove the Dollar Bill Acceptor. Dollar Bill Acceptor Installation 1. Remove the bill stacker. 2. Set Dip Switches 1, 2, 3, 6 On 4, 5, 7, 8 Off 3. Slide the DBA into place. 4. Install the four 11/32 nuts securing the DBA. 5. Install the DBA cable noting the polarization of the 30-pin connector. 6. Slide the bill stacker into place. 7. Restore the power by pressing the power button on the back of the jukebox. 8. Enter Hardware test in service console to test. Fan Filter Maintenance It is recommended to check the filters monthly. If the filters are dirty follow these steps to clean them: 1. Disconnect the fan harnesses from the core. 2. Release the fan and filter. Push up on the fan bracket clip to release the fan and filter. 3. Replace the fan filter inserts. To open the filter assembly, bend it until the top pops out of the filter case. 4. Remove the old filter to clean (Step 5, below) or replace with a new one. 5. To clean the filter: Rinse filter under water. When the dust is removed from the filter, squeeze out the water. Dry the filter with a paper towel. Place the dry filter the in the filter frame. 6. Replace the filter-frame top. Snap the frame together. 7. Install the filter assembly in the bracket. One side of the filter unit has countersunk holes to accommodate the heads of the mounting bracket screws. Snap the filter into place with countersunk holes covering the heads of the mounting bracket screws. 8. Install the fan in the bracket in front of the filter unit with the grille facing out. The fan and filter should both fit within the guides on each side of the mounting bracket. Take care that the guides do not enter the fan unit! 9. Clip the bracket holder over the two parts to secure them. 10. Remove and replace the second fan and filter in the same manner. 11. Reconnect the fan wiring to the main power harness. 12. Verify fan operation on the service console: On the main screen, select System Settings and Diagnostics Then select Diagnostics Select Test Hardware Signals G - 5
