It can be used to control dimmable 0 to 10V fluorescent ballasts (Advance Mark 7 or equivalent), dimmable 0 to 10V LED drivers, or compatible line voltage shades. The is shipped from the factory with the 0 to 10V dimming mode enabled. The can be changed to shade control mode in the field using a simple operating mode selection procedure. The must be used in conjunction with power packs by Watt Stopper/Legrand (refer to wiring diagrams). The also has an input for connecting a sensor for automatic operation. Top Dog Wireless Communication Wireless devices use radio signals to communicate with each other to control lighting and other types of electric loads in selected areas. These wireless devices use the 900MHz band for high-speed control communication. Using Watt Stopper frequency-agile Top Dog technology, these wireless devices avoid interference with other 900MHz devices, such as cordless phones and baby monitors. Environment and Orientation Do not locate the close to any device that may cause radio frequency interference or behind large metal objects that can block radio reception. Avoid TV sets, computers, refrigerators, microwave ovens, range hoods, safes, etc. APPLICATION ASSISTANCE The functions as part of a network that may contain a variety of wireless devices. Instructions for installation, binding operations, and use are included with the relevant wireless devices. Application support information and installation guides are available online. Installation Instructions

2 INSTALLATION The is a Class 2 product. A low voltage cable with the appropriate number of conductors must be installed. For ease of installation, manufacturer recommends use of a deep wall box. 1. Disconnect power to circuit by turning circuit breaker OFF before installation. 2. Remove the existing wall plate and switch, if one is present. If there is an existing line voltage switch the wiring must be converted to low voltage in order to use the original wall box location for the. Alternatively, the existing line voltage switch may remain, however a new wall box must be installed for the according to NEC requirements. 3. Install power pack(s) as appropriate for your application. 4. Strip existing wires 1/4. If two wires will be connected to the same terminal, both wires must be the same gauge. Connect wires as appropriate for your application. 5. Attach the wall plate. 6. Switch the circuit breaker back ON. INSTALL IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES & STANDARDS. Failure to follow these instructions may cause personal injury or equipment damage. Using the in a Miro Wireless system To use the in a wireless Miro system, it must be bound to the same house as the other devices in the system. It can then be used in a group and/or scene, like any wireless Miro device. See WIRELESS CONFIGURATION SETUP INSTRUCTIONS for instructions on binding the to a wireless Miro system. DIMMING MODE (Hot) The operates in dimming mode as shipped from the factory Ballast After it is powered-up it will 0-10 Ballast respond to inputs and provide outputs according to its terminal connections. Background: Dimming It is a low-voltage DC dimming method, using Class 2 wires. It allows multiple circuits to use the same dimming signal without additional power equipment. When controlling systems, or ON/OFF systems: Use a Watt Stopper/Legrand B or BZ power pack. Dimming curves To accomodate various types of ballasts, the, executes a straight proportional relationship between the internal level and the voltage provided, 0.5VDC to 9.5VDC. Dimming (with ON/OFF option) When the user ramps up, relay 1 output switches from 0V to. This closes the power pack relay to supply line voltage to the light fixtures. When the user ramps down and the output becomes 0V, relay 1 switches to 0V. This opens the power pack relay to remove power to the light fixtures. This allows the ballast to smoothly ramp down and then be turned OFF. NOTE: An ON to OFF transition can take longer than expected (by about 2 seconds) because the is dimming down. The OFF to ON transition is immediate. 6 TROUBLESHOOTING FOR WIRELESS During Set House ID, the LED is not flashing on some wireless Miro devices. If LED is solid green before initiating house ID binding: The device already has another house ID. Reset it to the factory default so that it can be bound to the desired house ID. Resetting to factory defaults is described in the I need to start over issue. If LED is solid yellow after initiating house ID binding: The device may be out of range of the initiating device. Add a MRR2 Miro Wireless Repeater to boost signal range. I made a configuration mistake. I need to start over. You can reset any Miro wireless device to factory default setting by pressing and holding until the LED changes to solid yellow (approximately 10 seconds). During the process, the LED flashes yellow and when complete, it changes to solid yellow. The device can then be reconfigured, exactly like any new device (see the Set House ID section). The Dimmer does not work and the status LED is flashing red. at 1Hz (5 times in 5 seconds): The dimmer has detected an unsuitable load or load below the minimum rated load for the applied voltage. To clear the fault condition, tap and wait for the LED to turn green. Disconnect power, check the load, restore power and try again.
