1 Key Switch R10S Key Switch R10S.3 The iloq R10S.3 Key Switch has been developed for the easy control of peripheral systems by the iloq K10S key. The same iloq Key used for opening lock cylinders is used as an identification object, to activate additional applications, such as elevators, parking barriers and alarm systems. Key Switch R10S.3 controls an electrical device through a potential-free relay output. The relay outputs are activated, when a valid key is inserted into the Key reader. You can format and program the key switch in the iloq S10 Manager software. Key switch R10S.3 consists of two products: Programmable Relay card A Key reader A10.56 or A The distance between the Key reader and the Relay card can be up to 100 m. In this way, the controlling sensitive relay parts can be installed in a secured place inside the building. The Key Switch records the audit trail of lock events. The product versions are: Table 1: Key Switch R10S.3 Versions Version Description R10S.3.1 Relay card with A surface mounted Key reader R10S.3.2 Relay card with A surface mounted Key reader R10S.3.3 Relay card with A10.42 flush mounted Key reader R10S.3.4 Relay card with A surface mounted Key reader If necessary, you can expand the configuration with the components below: Relay module A00.11 (8 outputs) 2x Relay module A00.11 (2x8 outputs) Relay module A00.12 (16 outputs) Lock cylinder C10/D10 Opening button Parallel Key reader A10.42 / A10.56 Real-time clock A00.9 In all configurations, you can use the flush-mounted Key reader A10.42, instead of the surface model Key reader A In that case, the LED indications will remain unconnected and the Key reader will be connected to the Relay card KEY READER connectors 1-WIRE (red) and GND (black). Key readers can also be connected in parallel. 2 Quick Guides This chapter lists the most common Key Switch use cases and their configuration instructions. Key Switch also enables other special configurations, which you can implement by reading the entire manual.

2 Quick Guides Controlling an Electric Lock This section describes how to control an electric lock, magnet lock or electric strike plate, and so on, by a Key Switch. In this scenario, you program the Key Switch as a lock, which has its own access rights. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Relay card, during the first programming. Proceed as follows. 1. Set the MODE SELECT 4 dip switch OFF. 2. Add, format and program the Key Switch on S10 Manager software, see Adding a Key Switch on page 12. Select the type of lock cylinder as R10S.3.X. Select the type of relay configuration as Basic. Select the relay mode as Impulse. 3. Mount the Relay card. 4. Connect the Key reader and a power supply to the Relay card according to the connection diagram, see Appendix 1 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 Basic on page Mount the Key reader. 6. Connect an electric lock control to the relay output K1, according to the electric lock manufacturer's instructions. 7. Test that the installation works. 2.2 Controlling an Alarm System This section describes how to control an alarm system by a Key Switch. The alarm system state can be indicated on the Key Reader. Select the relay mode as Impulse or Toggle according to the alarm system. 3. Install the Relay card into a tamper-protected alarm system cabinet. 4. See Appendix 1 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 Basic on page 17 to connect: a) The power supply, or use the alarm system power supply, to power the Relay card. b) Relay output K1 to the alarm system state change input, according to the alarm system manufacturer's instructions. c) Key reader to the Relay card. d) The alarm system state information, if wanted, to control the Key Reader's lowermost led, to indicate whether the alarm system is armed or not. In this scenario, you connect the alarm system state information to the Key Reader connectors STAT2 GRN, STAT2 RED and GND. 5. Mount the key reader. 6. Test that the installation works.

3 Relay Modes Controlling an Elevator with Relay Module (8 Outputs) This section describes how to control an elevator by a Key Switch, by defining building floors to access rights. In this scenario, you program the Key Switch as a lock, which has its own access rights. For this, you have to connect the power supply and a Key Reader to the Relay card, during the first programming. Furthermore, you will use an additional Relay module to use more than two relay outputs, one relay for each floor. Optionally, you can connect the Key Switch to the S10 Online System for a remotely manageable system. Proceed as follows. 1. Set the MODE SELECT 4 dip switch OFF. 2. Add, format and program the Key Switch on S10 Manager software, see Adding a Key Switch on page 12. Select the type of lock cylinder as R10S.3.X. Select the type of relay configuration as 1x8. Select the relay mode as Impulse. 3. Let a certified elevator installer connect the Key reader, Relay Module, and a power supply (unless available from the elevator electricity) to the Relay card according to the connection diagram, see Appendix 3 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 A x8 on page Let a certified elevator installer connect the appropriate relay outputs of the Relay Module to control the elevator, one relay for access to each locked floor. Optionally, you can connect the Key Switch to the S10 Online System for a remotely manageable system. See Connecting a Remotely Managed Lock Cylinder. Connect the Relay Card NET BOX connectors GND and DATA to the Door Module CYLINDERS inputs GND and L1 (DATA). 3 Relay Modes You can select the behaviour of the relay outputs, that is, the relay mode, with the Relay card dip switches as described in the table below, or in the iloq S10 Manager software. The relay mode selection in the key switch programming package overrides the relay card dip switch selections 1-3, in which case the dip switch positions 1-3 have no significance, but dip switch 4 must be in the correct position on the Relay card. There are four relay modes: Toggle In the toggle mode, the relay output is activated with a valid key. The relay remains active, until the next valid key is read. Impulse In the impulse mode, the relay output is activated for a certain time with a valid key. The default length for a K1 relay is 8 seconds, and for a K2 relay 30 seconds. The default impulse of the Relay card relays is 8 seconds. The length of the impulses can be changed in the S10 Manager software. Key hold In the key hold mode, the relay output is active for as long as a valid key is in the Key reader. Roller door In the roller door mode, the relay outputs are activated with buttons when a valid key is in the Key reader. With this mode, you can use different buttons to control, for example, a roller door to move upwards or downwards. Table 2: Relay Mode Dip Switches Mode Dip 1 Dip 2 Dip 3 Dip 4 Toggle Off Off Off Off

4 Relay Configurations 7 Mode Dip 1 Dip 2 Dip 3 Dip 4 Impulse On Off Off Off Key hold On On Off Off Roller door On On On On 4 Relay Configurations You can select the relay configuration in the S10 Manager software. The following relay configurations are available: Basic 1x2 1x8 2x8 1x Basic With the Relay card, you can control one or two devices through the relay outputs K1 and K2. The available relay modes are: Toggle Impulse Key hold Roller door In this configuration, a valid key always activates both relay outputs K1 and K2, except in the roller door mode, which is a special connection (see Roller Door on page 9). Relay outputs can also be activated with a potentialfree contact signal (for example, a push button) to input Button1. In this case, relays K1 and K2 will behave according to the selected relay mode in the same way as with a key. A practical example for the impulse mode with default delay times: a motorised lock is controlled with an 8 second impulse of the K1 relay, and the K2 relay is used to bypass the magnetic switch of the door, for 30 seconds. When exiting the premises, the user presses a push button, whereupon the motorised lock is opened and the door s magnetic switch is bypassed for 30 seconds. See also Appendix 1 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 Basic on page x2 With the Relay card, you can control one or two devices through the relay outputs K1 and K2. The available relay modes are: Toggle Impulse Key hold Roller door In this configuration, it is possible to specify the relay outputs that a particular access right has the right to control. A valid key can, therefore, activate either both or only one of the relay outputs K1/K2.

4 Relay Configurations 8 In the impulse relay mode, the impulse length is reset, if a valid key is read in the Key reader again, even if the previous impulse is still active. In other words, the calculation of the delay starts from the beginning. Note: You cannot use button inputs BUTTON1 / BUTTON2 in this configuration. See also Appendix 2 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 1x2 on page x8 Relay module A00.11 is connected to the Relay card RS232-1 bus, whereupon you can use eight additional relay outputs. A key can simultaneously control 1-8 relay outputs of the Relay module. The available relay modes are: Toggle Impulse Key hold In the impulse mode, the default length of the Relay module impulse is 8 seconds. In this configuration, it is possible to specify the relay outputs that a particular access right has the right to control. A valid key can, therefore, activate 1-8 relays of the Relay module. In addition, a valid key always activates both relay outputs K1 and K2 of the Relay card. When the relay mode is impulse, and if a valid key is read in the Key reader, while the previous impulse is still active, the Relay module s relays will be set according to the relay combination of the last valid key. In other words if, for example, relay output 3 has been activated by key 1 when the control is still on, key 2, which controls for example, only relays 4 and 5, will be read. In this case, relay 3 will stop activating, whereupon only the relay combination of the last key, that is, 4 and 5, will be activated. The Relay card outputs can also be activated with a potential-free contact signal (for example, a push button) to input Button1. In this case, relays K1 and K2 will behave according to the selected relay mode in the same way as with a key. The Relay module relays cannot be controlled with button input Button1. See also Appendix 3 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 A x8 on page x8 Relay modules A00.11 are connected to the Relay card RS232-1 and RS232-2 buses, whereupon you can use 16 additional relay outputs. A key can simultaneously control 1-16 relay outputs of the Relay module. The available relay modes are: Toggle Impulse Key hold In the impulse mode, the default length of the Relay module impulse is 8 seconds. In this configuration, it is possible to specify the relay outputs that a particular access right has the right to control. A valid key can, therefore, activate 1-16 relays of the Relay module.

5 Other Connections 9 The Relay card outputs can also be activated with a potential-free contact signal (for example, a push button) to input Button1. In this case, relays K1 and K2 will behave according to the selected relay mode in the same way as with a key. The Relay module relays cannot be controlled with button input Button1. See also Appendix 4 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 A x8 on page x16 Relay expansion A00.12 consists of master and slave Relay modules, both of which have 8 relay outputs. The master is connected to the Relay card RS232-1 bus, and the slave is connected to the Master with a connecting cable. In addition, a valid key always activates both relay outputs K1 and K2 of the Relay card. When the relay mode is impulse, and if a valid key is read in the Key reader, while the previous impulse is still active, the Relay module s relays will be set according to the relay combination of the last valid key. In other words if, for example, relay output 3 has been activated by key 1 when the control is still on, key 2, which only controls, for example, relays 4 and 5, will be read. See also Appendix 5 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 A x16 on page Other Connections This chapter describes the other connections that the Key switch has. 5.1 Roller Door By using relay outputs K1 and K2 the Key switch can be used, for example, to open and close a roller door. In this scenario, select the Roller door relay mode with dip switches. Connect the door control buttons to the Relay card using inputs Button1 and Button2. With a valid key in the Key reader: The activation of input Button1 activates relay output K1. The activation of Button2 activates relay output K2. The activation of both Button1 and Button2 at the same time does not activate neither K1 nor K2. See also Appendix 6 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 Roller Door on page 27.

6 Interfaces Lock Cylinder You can control relay K2 with a lock cylinder connected to the Cylinder interface of the Relay card. Relay K2 is activated when a valid key is successfully read in the cylinder. A cylinder can only be connected in the Basic configuration and in the Impulse relay mode. You do not have to program the Relay card; relay K2 indicates a valid opening also in the factory state and in the formatted state. The connected cylinder can be an S10 or Privus. An S10 cylinder does not need to be programmed in the same S10 system as the Relay card. The default impulse of the K2 relay is 30 seconds, and it can be changed on iloq S10 Manager, but this requires the programming of the Relay card. If the Relay card is equipped with the Real-time clock A00.9, and is formatted or programmed, the cylinder receives the time from the Relay card. See also Appendix 7 - Wiring Diagram for R10S.3 Cylinder on page Interfaces This chapter describes the different Key switch interfaces. 6.1 Key Reader A10.56 Interfaces The Key reader is connected to the Relay card KEY READER connectors, whereupon a green light in the Key reader indicates when the device is powered up (ONLINE LED). The red or green key symbol indicates whether the key, inserted into the Key reader, was approved or rejected (STAT1 G and STAT1 R). The Key reader also has inputs STAT2 GRN, STAT2 RED and GND for status indications of the device under control. You can bring feedback information these inputs from the device under control in the form of VDC. If no feedback information is received from the device under control, the Relay card can also be connected to control the STAT2 GRN LED. In such cases, the STAT2 output will follow the Relay card relay output K1 status (except when in the Roller door mode). In cabling, use a data transfer cable, such as MHS 5x2x0.5, should be used. The maximum distance between the Relay card and the Key reader is 100 metres. 6.2 Key Reader A10.42 Interfaces The Key reader is connected to the Relay card KEY READER connectors 1-WIRE and GND, in such a way that the Key reader red wire is connected to 1-WIRE, and the black wire to GND. The Relay card also has a mating connector for the Key reader wire connector, which can be used, for example, in the programming stage. In cabling, use a data transfer cable, such as MHS 5x2x0.5, should be used. The maximum distance between the Relay card and the Key reader is 100 metres. 6.3 Relay Card Interfaces This section describes the Relay card interfaces.
