Setup instructions for any hardware that was not purchased from, and therefore fully supported by, AccuPOS will not be in this guide and will have to be set up separately Page 2 of 57

If anything is missing, contact the dealer where you bought the printer and ask them to supply the missing part. Note that it is a good idea to keep the original box and all the packing materials just in case you need to pack the printer up and again and send it somewhere at a later date. Page 3 of 57

5 c. Hardware Setup and Cable Connection Connecting the USB Cable to the Printer Affix the ferrite core onto the USB interface cable and pass the cable through the cable support as shown. Then, connect the USB interface cable to the printer. Connecting the USB Cable to the PC Page 5 of 57

6 Connecting the Power Cord Note: Before connecting/disconnecting the power cord, make sure that power to the printer and all the devices connected to the printer is turned off. Also make sure the power cable plug is disconnected from the AC outlet. 1. Check the label on the back or bottom of the printer to make sure its voltage matches that of the AC outlet. Also make sure the plug on the power cord matches the AC outlet. 2. If the power is not attached to the printer, plug the appropriate end into the AC inlet on the back of the printer. 3. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded AC outlet. Page 6 of 57

7 Loading the Roll Paper Be sure to use roll paper that matches the printer s specification. 1. Push the cover open lever, and open the printer cover. 2. While observing the direction of the roll, set the paper roll into the hollow, and pull on the leading edge of the paper toward you. 3. Push down both sides of the printer cover to close. Note: Make sure that the printer cover is securely closed. Page 7 of 57

8 d. Software Setup The TSP 100 receipt printer has a USB connection. These are very easy to set up! Simply plug the USB cable into an open USB port on your computer. Windows will automatically recognize that a new device has been attached. Windows should install it automatically. If not, you will be prompted with the Found New Hardware Wizard. Select the option Yes, this time only and select Next. Continue through the wizard until it is completed. If Windows is unable to install the driver automatically, you can insert the driver disk that came with the package. Now the printer has been installed! Once installed, a few settings on the printer need to be adjusted. Go to your printers and faxes window through either Control Panel or from the Start Menu directly. 1. Right click on the Star TSP100 Cutter (TSP143) printer and select properties. (Figure 1-1) (Figure 1-1) Page 8 of 57

9 2. Go to the Advanced tab. Set the Priority to 99. (Figure 1-2) (Figure 1-2) 3. Next, click on the Device Settings tab. Set the FRICTION to 72mm x Receipt. Set Page Cut Type to No Cut. Set the Document Cut Type to No Cut. (Figure 1-3) (Figure 1-3) Page 9 of 57

13 3. Select Star TSP100 Cutter (TSP143). Click OK 4. Click OK again in the Font Window. 5. On Paper Cutter Codes, enter 3 for Count and 27,100 on Codes. 6. Click OK to close the POS Settings. 7. Printer is now setup and ready to use. Page 13 of 57

Open POS Settings Using AccuPOS Management a. Open AccuPOS Management b. Click on Setting in Management Using AccuPOS Point of Sale d. Open AccuPOS Point of Sale e. 33 d. Software Setup The POS-X XP8200 has a USB connection. These are very easy to set up! Simply plug the USB cable into an open USB port on your computer. Windows will automatically recognize that a new device has been attached. Windows should install it automatically. If not, you will be prompted with the Found New Hardware Wizard. Select the option Yes, this time only and select Next. Continue through the wizard until it is completed. If Windows is unable to install the driver automatically, you can insert the driver disk that came with the package Once the driver is installed, this will create a Com Port in your computer s Device Manager. 34 Select Hardware then Device Manager (Figure 1-2) (Figure 1-2) Note the COM Port number on the Prolific USB-to-Serial Com Port (Ex. COM2). This will be use to configure the Pole Display in AccuPOS. Page 34 of 57

35 e. Configuring Pole Display (POS X XP8200) to AccuPOS 1. Open POS Settings Using AccuPOS Management a. Open AccuPOS Management b. Click on Setting in Management Using AccuPOS Point of Sale j. Open AccuPOS Point of Sale k. Login with a user that has Admin rights. l. Press Ctrl + Alt + s 2. Select Epson, using the drop down selection under Customer Display Port. Page 35 of 57

36 3. Enter the port number that has been created during the Software setup. (Ex. COM2) 4. Create a Generic/Text Driver Printer a. Click Start -> Select Printers and Faxes b. Select Add a Printer in the Printer and Faxes window. Page 36 of 57

37 c. Click Next d. Select Local Printer and uncheck the Automatically detect Printer. Click Next. Page 37 of 57

38 e. Select the Com Port that was used during the Software setup. Click Next. f. Select Generic for the Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only for the Printers. Click Next. Page 38 of 57

39 g. Select No to use the printer as a default question and Click Next. h. Do not share the printer. Click Next. Page 39 of 57

41 k. Once the Generic/Text driver printer has been added, open the Properties of this printer. Right click the Generic/Text Only printer and select Properties l. Select the Advanced tab and set the Priority to 99 and select Print directly to the printer. Click Apply and OK 5. Pole display is now setup and ready to use. Page 41 of 57

48 5. Ethernet Interface Setup Guide Step1. Connect the Printer to the Router/LAN Ethernet Cable from Step2. Acquire the IP Address. a. Make sure the printer is OFF b. Hold down the Feed button on the printer s control panel c. Turn the printer ON. Control Power The printer will start printing the test and diagnostic page. If the printer is able to acquire an IP address from your network, the second page of the test page will show the current IP Address of the printer. Note: If the printer did not acquire an IP Address, check your network cable to make sure it is connected properly and that your router is Turn On. Check with your network specialist if you are still unable to acquire an IP Address after making sure that the router is ON and the Network cable is connected. Page 48 of 57

54 Step4. Configure the Star Printer (SP742) Properties. 1. In the Printer and Faxes window, right click the Star SP700 Cutter (SP742) printer and select Properties 2. This will display the Star Printer Properties. Page 54 of 57

55 3. Click on Ports Tab and Click on Add Port 4. Select Stardard TCP/IP Port and Select New Port 5. The TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard will open. Click Next Page 55 of 57
