The purpse f a virtualized server infrastructure is t imprve the Custmer s Return n Investment (ROI) and Ttal Cst f Ownership (TCO), make better use f server hardware, and increase verall flexibility and reliability acrss servers. Befre making an investment in a virtualized infrastructure, the Custmer shuld have a clear understanding f hw the infrastructure will lk, the initial investment required, and the ptential cst savings t be achieved. HP Server Virtualizatin Slutin Planning & Design service prvides infrmatin based n data cllectin and analysis f the Custmer s current servers, using HP tls that perfrm agentless data cllectin frm remte ndes. Three levels f the Slutin Planning & Design study are ffered t meet ur Custmers varying requirements. Level 1 prvides preliminary infrmatin needed fr the Custmer t make an infrmed decisin whether t prceed tward a virtualized envirnment, by presenting a high-level descriptin f the prpsed envirnment, industry-standard csts, and ptential cst savings fr the Custmer. Levels 2 and 3, targeted fr Custmers planning t prceed with server virtualizatin, prvide a mre in-depth study f the Custmer s envirnment t determine the business and virtual server envirnment architecture requirements, in additin t mre precise csts and cst savings ptential. Level 2 and 3 studies begin with data cllected remtely n the current servers. In additin, additinal infrmatin is gathered thrugh interviews and/r a Wrkshp cnducted with Custmer s key stake hlders, including data center wners, infrastructure supprt, applicatin wners, IT managers, and finance persnnel t explre current csts and ptential cst savings, applicatin details, types f data; strage infrmatin, and data prtectin and peratinal plicies and prcedures. Analysis f the findings leads t a better understanding f the Custmer s current and future needs highlighting the additinal custmizatin and functinality required in the prpsed virtualized envirnment, and the related csts. Upn cmpletin f these studies, a frmal review is cnducted with all invlved parties t present the identified needs alng with a detailed, prpsed server virtualizatin architecture, investment csts, prjected cst savings, and a radmap t migrate frm current state t the prpsed infrastructure. Hwever, cllectin frm multiple physical sites requires custmized price quting. Levels 2 and 3 nly: Wrkshp and/r individual interviews are included. Only thse services clearly specified in this service descriptin Custmer respnsibilities The Custmer will: Prvide access t a nn-prductin Micrsft server t install data cllectin sftware. Grant HP Cnsultant the necessary access t nn-prductin Micrsft Windws server t install data cllectin sftware fr SV Planning & Design. Prvide HP Cnsultant with lgin credentials and netwrk access frm data cllectin server t all servers t be analyzed as part f this service fr data cllectin purpses fr SV Planning & Design. Respnd when cntacted by an HP service specialist t schedule, within 90 days f the date f its purchase, the delivery f the service. Assign a designated persn frm the Custmer s staff wh, n behalf f the Custmer, will grant all apprvals, prvide infrmatin, and therwise be available t assist the HP Cnsultant in facilitating the delivery f this service. Ensure that all service prerequisites as identified under Service eligibility are met. Allw HP access t all lcatins where the service is t be delivered. Assure participatin f key persnnel as described in previus sectins t participate in discussins f the Custmer s business and peratinal bjectives, plus any special requirements. General prvisins / ther exclusins HP reserves the right t charge, n a time-and-materials basis, fr any additinal wrk ver and abve this service package pricing that may result frm wrk required t address service prerequisites r ther requirements nt met by the Custmer. HP reserves the right t re-price this service if the Custmer des nt schedule and prvide fr its subsequent delivery within 90 days f purchase. The ability f the HP Cnsultant t deliver this service is dependent upn the Custmer s full and timely cperatin with the HP Cnsultant, as well as the accuracy and cmpleteness f any infrmatin and data the Custmer may prvide t HP. The service is nly available during lcal HP business hurs. Any service delivery utside these hurs will be subject t additinal charges. Applicatin cnslidatin is nt included as part f this service.
