6 JTC 1/SC 38/SG 1- Study Group on Cloud Computing Study Group on Cloud Computing Create: May, 2010 The Convener Dr. Seungyun Lee (Korea) Secretary: Mr. Zhou Ping (China) Goal: Provide a taxonomy, terminology and value proposition for Cloud Computing Assess the current state of standardization in Cloud Computing within JTC 1 and in other SDOs and consortia beginning with document JTC 1 N Document standardization market/business/user requirements and the challenges to be addressed. Liaise and collaborate with relevant SDOs and consortia related to Cloud Computing Hold open meetings to gather requirements as needed from a wide range of interested organizations. Provide a report of activities and recommendations to SC 38.

8 Study Group Report on Cloud Computing Goal: This document intends to provide an overall review on the specified topics of Cloud computing in terms of exploring standardization opportunities. This document deals with: reviewing current concepts, characteristics, definitions, types and components used in Cloud computing; a comparison of Cloud computing to related technologies; reviewing business perspectives on Could computing, and threats related to Cloud computing; analysing standardization activities for Cloud computing in other standardization organizations; and,

14 Modification of Study Group Report on Cloud Computing Submit the modifications & comments to the report to SC38 on March 7, 2011 Add introductions of organization OW2 and it s standard work on cloud computing.

15 Future work of SC38 SG 1 The SGCC requests 2 1/2 days to meet during the April 2011 SC 38 meetings in Paris, France, in order to review the draft Study Group report, the report of the Standards Analysis work team and to determine a further revision plan for the Study Group Report.
