10 SIEMENS AG, GERMANY Siemens wanted to use ECG s practical experience to develop a standardization process for combined-cycle power plants. ECG helped to establish this process, which enabled Siemens to offer competitive power plants that fulfilled the customers needs. Thanks to ECG s systematic approach from the hands-on power business experience up to the management of ECG, we were able to combine standardization with our internal, market, and customer needs. 11 ANSALDO ENERGIA S.P.A., ITALY ECG supported Ansaldo at the expiration of its gas tur bine license agreement to define a new market strategy and assisted them in various implementation projects. ECG helped us to find a successful market strategy in a challenging situation and gave us excellent support during its implementation. G. ECG supported Groupe E in the whole process from the feasibility study to the acquisition of a participation in a modern combined-cycle plant. 12 CIMO, SWITZERLAND ECG advised CIMO by managing the whole sale process of two distribution networks. Besides project management, the mandate consisted of establishing all the documents necessary for the tenderers to conduct due diligence, clarifying legal issues, and elaborating the sale contract. ECG also assisted the client during contract negotiations, assets transfer, and transaction closing. We appreciated the effective support of ECG during the whole M&A process, especially for the negotiations with the numerous parties involved in this rather complex project. The distribution networks could successfully be sold taking into account all the requirements of the stakeholders. 13 KAHRAMA SPA, ALGERIA ECG designed and commissioned a thermodynamical simulation model for the MW gas turbine power plant Kahrama in Algeria including a desalination facility. ECG set up an interdisciplinary team to supply this turnkey service. We selected them based on their good experience and references in Algeria. They keep their promises and are very responsive. Within a very short period of time, EKZ in fair collaboration with ECG managed with Energy for Business to launch the first electricity proposal offered in all of Switzerland. 14 ELEKTRIZITÄTSGESELLSCHAFT LAUFENBURG (EGL), SWITZERLAND EGL decided to develop and build gas-fired power plants in Italy to serve its customers. ECG advised them during the development and realization of two 800 MW power combined-cycle power plants. On the basis of expertise and vast experiences in the field of combined-cycle power plants and the personal engagement by Rolf Kehlhofer, ECG significantly contributed to the successful realization of EGL s two 800 MW power plants in Italy. EMANUEL HÖHENER Former CEO ENAW, VUE AND EWZ, SWITZERLAND The Business Energy Agency (EnAW) mandated ECG together with ewz and the Association for Environmentally Sound Energy (VUE) to run the pilot project for generating efficiency certificates and establishing the energy efficiency marketplace. The project management of ECG succeeded in leading the various actors through the pilot project in a goal-oriented manner and in developing the efficiency market into market-based structures. Especially, ECG was covincing with its expertise on energy efficiency and the political and economic experience of the con sulting team. DR.
