In particular we are very well placed to support the more high-end and complex projects. We are also authorised to independently review LEED models in Canada and serve as LEED reviewers through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), have been involved closely in the development of LEED V4, sitting on the LEED Steering Committee, the Indoor Air Quality Working Group and chairing the Implementation Committee. We are also LEED Automation partners and creators of automated LEED modelling, analysis and process management tools. 4 FOR LEED CASE STUDIES DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL DALLAS TEXAS HARBOR COLLEGE SCIENCE COMPLEX LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA IES s Atlanta office served as the LEED Facilitator and Commissioning Authority for this project. A LEED Gold New Construction project, it sits on a project site area of 252,221 square feet, is housed in a building comprised of 23 stories totalling approximately 929,620 gross square feet, and occupies a building footprint of approximately 141,407 square feet. IES s Atlanta office was responsible for the composition and compilation of documentation for LEED certification as well as the entire commissioning and enhanced commissioning process. This included verification of acceptance phase functional performance testing for energy-consuming systems included in the commissioning scope. We commissioned all the buildings systems including the HVAC Systems and the Sensors, Valves and Local Control Devices, associated with the Building Automation Control System. LEED Gold Accredited 252,221 square feet project site 141,407 square feet building footprint 23 stories IES Consulting carried out detailed analysis to achieve a 49.1% reduction in energy cost from the ASHRAE baseline on this project. A 67,000 sq. ft. science classroom building with 22,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space, this detailed analysis was achieved on a tight project schedule with a design-build project delivery. Natural ventilation, photovoltaic panels, sub-meters, daylight dimming with light shelves, complex solar shading, and energy recovery devices are some of the strategies which were modeled in detail and implemented into the final design. Analysis models include renewable energy, thermal loads, daylight optimisation, solar shading, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), occupant behaviour, and energy end-uses. 49.1% reduction in energy cost from ASHRAE baseline 67,000 square feet science classroom building 22,000 square feet of lab space Detailed analysis achieved on a tight project schedule BRICKELL FINANCIAL CENTRE MIAMI FLORIDA ABU DHABI FINANCIAL CENTER ABU DHABI UAE IES s Atlanta office served as the LEED Energy Modelling Consultant and Commissioning Authority for this project. Awarded LEED Platinum Certification, the project is a 1.1 million sq ft, 40 story mixed use retail and office building in the bustling Brickell Financial District in downtown Miami, Florida. The building was developed by Foram Group and was designed by RTKL and Associates. IES s Atlanta office was responsible for the LEED Energy Modelling of the project and ensuring all criteria for LEED Energy Credits were met. They also took care of the LEED Commissioning and Environmental Smoke Control Testing. Sustainable measures implemented include, the capture and re-use of storm water, plus plumbing fixtures to reduce water consumption; building systems commissioning and energy optimisation to reduce costs and energy consumption; and an Indoor Air Quality Management Plan to increase outdoor air ventilation in occupied spaces. Platinum LEED Certification 1.1 million sq ft 40 story mixed use retail and office building Designed by RTKL and Associates Predicted savings of 1.3 million gallons of potable water per year The building will use around 19% less energy than current energy efficiency standards IES Consulting carried out detailed energy modeling analysis of a 6,100,000 sq. ft. development in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Abu Dhabi Financial Centre consists of eight buildings in total: four office towers above 30 stories, a retail podium, two parking garages, and a central stock exchange. This energy model is compared against ASHRAE (LEED Gold) and has a slew of innovative features. Energy conservation measures include ventilated double skin façades, external shading devices, automatic blind control, dynamic daylight dimming, occupancy sensing lighting, desiccant dehumidification, high-efficiency elevators, PV panels, and various HVAC systems including demand-controlled displacement ventilation.
