1 Minutes of the Annual General Meeting Held at Canterbury Christ Church University 6 th September Welcome and Introductions Denis Edgar-Nevill welcomed both BCS members and non-members to the AGM being held as part of the programme for the 6 th International Conference on Cybercrime Forensics Education and Training (CFET 2012). He reported that the announcement of the AGM had been circulated to all members of the SG in early August He confirmed the form of the agenda was following the guidance from the Peter Buchanan (Chair Membership Board and Policy Committee BCS) received in an of 28 th July Apologies for Absence Apologies for absence had been received from Alastair Irons, Professor Margaret Ross, Professor Nigel Jones and Geoff Staples. 3. Minutes of the Previous AGM 1 st September 2011 The minutes of the previous AGM of 1 st September 2011 which had been previously circulated were accepted for accuracy. 4. Matters Arising from the Minutes There were no substantive matters arising which were not to be considered as part of this agenda. 5. Report from the Chair on the Year s Activities Denis Edgar-Nevill reported on the developments within the SG since the previous AGM which included: Membership Rise in the membership of the SG from 1400 members in 2011 to presently standing over 1,550 members; International Conference Successful CFET 2011 international conference in 2011 and the present CFET 2012 international conference, sponsored by the SG with the AGM forming part of the programme;

The newsletter has been generally well-received with a number of universities re-sending to their students and recirculation by a number of online sources. Current Developments Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law, agrees to publish selected CFET conference papers on an on-going basis ECENTRE (England s Centre of Excellence Network for Cybercrime Training Research and Education) bid submitted in October 2011 which was supported by the work of the SG was approved for funding by the European Commission. The funding together with 10% partner funding results in a 20 months development of just under 1 million euros.

The group will develop software tools, case studies, lectures, training materials and share collective expertise enhancing and developing practitioner training in this field. ECENTRE joins a growing European network of national Centres of Excellence in Ireland, France, Estonia, Spain, Romania and Greece; sharing expertise, educational materials, research and best practice in the fight against cybercrime. The meeting accepted and approved the SG Chair s report on the previous years activity 6. 4 7. Election of Chair, Treasurer and Committee Members Denis Edgar-Nevill confirmed all posts for the Committee of the SG were vacant and available for election. He explained that only members of the BCS would be eligible to vote in the elections and called for nominations as follows: Election of Chair were called for Chair of the BCS Cybercrime Forensics SG: Denis Edgar-Nevill nominated by Dr Richard Overill FBCS Seconded by Dr Man Qi FBCS approve Denis Edgar-Nevill s nomination with 32 members indicating approval. Election of Deputy Chair/Secretary were called for the Deputy Chair/Secretary of the BCS Cybercrime Forensics SG: Alastair Irons nominated by Denis Edgar-Nevill FBCS approve Alastair Irons nomination with 32 members indicating approval. Election of Treasurer were called for the Treasurer of the BCS Cybercrime Forensics SG: Dr Abhaya Induruwa nominated by Denis Edgar-Nevill FBCS approve Dr Abhaya Induruwa s nomination with 32 members indicating approval.

5 Election of Other Committee Members were asked for the remaining Committee Members of the BCS Cybercrime Forensics SG: Paul Stephens FBCS, Membership Secretary and Webmaster Dr Richard Overill FBCS, Committee Member Dr James Uhomoibhi MBCS, Committee Member Dr Bernd Carsten Stahl MBCS, Committee Member Professor Margaret Ross MBE, FBCS, Hon. FBCS, Committee Member Geoff Staples FBCS, Committee Member Professor Liz Bacon FBCS, Committee Member Professor Nigel Jones MBE, FBCS, Committee Member Professor Bill Buchanan FBCS, Committee Member nominated by Denis Edgar-Nevill FBCS approve the other members of the committee nomination with 32 members indicating approval. 8. Any Other Business There being no other business the meeting concluded with the invited presentation as indicated below. 9.
