WiFi Access across 33 Parks, Plazas, and Recreation Centers WiFi Access to 2500 Residents, Small Businesses, and Government Personnel on Treasure Island A municipally owned system designed, developed and maintained by DT employees This project builds on a larger vision to bring free WiFi access to every resident in San Francisco, in every corner of the City Launched a unified citywide brand - #SFWiFi, which is now being extend to libraries and museums. Soon to include Public Schools.

7 #SFWiFi By selecting the Wi-Fi network (SSID) named #SFWiFi and then launching a browser, citizens will experience: Ad-free connectivity and one click access Seamless mobility with no requirement to reconnect Access to City services, news and information, and thousands of applications dedicated to improving the quality of life of all San Franciscans, while accommodating small businesses and tourism : Average performance: Download mbps Upload 7-10 mbps Industry Standard: Download 10 mbps Upload 5 mbps The speed performance will vary from site to site depending on topography, green scape density and for indoor spaces facility construction materials

8 Real World Community Benefits This project will help to close the digital divide, provide local community groups with wireless internet in community zones where it was previously unavailable Download mobile apps like SF311 to can access city services such as finding the nearest library or looking for jobs Access City specific mobile apps like the official SF Rec and Park App that offers maps, park news or even reserve a picnic table Students can research information on the internet before an exam Access Muni Bus stops and arrival times Access Ride-Sharing Service Apps like Uber and Lyft Lost in SF? Access Google Maps Mid-Market small businesses that offer outside seating can take advantage of the service to its customers Find a store for holiday shopping

9 Next Steps Focused on the user experience Unifying all current City WiFi hotspots under the #SFWiFi brand which will also expand to libraries, museums and other cultural institutions Today, we are currently developing a strategic plan to further expand connectivity for the public benefit in various locations across the City Welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with organizations and members of the public in ensuring that high-speed internet connectivity is accessible for all our residents.
