1 [Reference esign 62] 9.6 MW, Traditional IT and OC-compatible, Indirect Air Economizer, m 2 ESIGN OVERVIEW ata Center IT Capacity 9.6 MW Target Availability Tier III with 2N power distribution and less-redundant generator configuration Annualized E at 100% Load 1.29 in Beijing, China 1.28 in aris, France 1.40 in Singapore Total Racks and Average ensity 480 traditional racks at 10 kw/rack 480 OC racks at 10 kw/rack INTROCTION The planning process of most projects can be iterative and thereby expensive. ata center projects are burdened with these challenges and can benefit greatly from simplification and time savings. Schneider Electric s data center reference designs help optimize the planning process by providing validated, proven, and documented data center physical infrastructure plans. The use of these designs has a positive impact on not just the project itself, but also on the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the data center over its lifetime. This reference design was developed for companies planning medium to large data centers that are using traditional and Open Compute roject (OC) or similar server and rack designs. This data center include eight rooms with 1200 kw of IT capacity that contain traditional and OC racks, with integrated power supplies within the rack, along with an air-to-air cooling system serving each IT room. IT rooms can be built in pairs for scalability purposes, so together these rooms and systems constitute the building blocks for the data centre. Each data center expansion, therefore, can occur in increments of 2400 kw of IT load. Reference esign 62 includes information for three areas: facility power, IT space, and facility cooling. Combined together, they comprise the integrated power, cooling and structural systems required to meet the design s specifications in this overview document. ata Center Overall Space Min m 2 Regional Voltage and Frequency 400V, 50Hz ABOT THIS ESIGN IT Space and power distribution designed to accommodate traditional and OC equipment EcoBreeze air economizers provides energy savings Fault-protection power on one power path only allows for cost savings (optional) 10 kw density racks with hot aisle containment

Two remset switchboards, each rated at 17.5 kv, 1250 A and 25 ka (3s), make up the distribution, providing A and B side power downstream to IT and cooling equipment. Backup power is provided by nine diesel generators in an N+1 redundant arrangement, where each generator is paired with an / step up Trihal transformer (6% impedance) and connected to the distribution network via a remset switchboard rated at 17.5 kv, 1250 A and 25 ka(3s), with automatic transfer built into the design. This generator plant is shared across the facility, allowing capital costs savings from additional switchgear and over-sizing. The distribution for each IT room is made up of two Trihal 2500 kva transformers (6% impedance), each coupled with an Okken lineup, rated at 400 V and 65 ka (1s) with a 3200 A bus, providing power to the main and alternate power paths. One of these Okken lineups feeds three 500 kva Galaxy 7000 Ss on side A, while the second Okken lineup also feeds the IT load from side B, to guarantee 2N distribution. This arrangement allows for cost savings, while still maintaining a high reliability level. As an option, another set of Galaxy 7000 Ss can be placed on the alternate path to provide the IT load with both A and B-side S backup. Cooling systems and auxiliary loads for all IT rooms also receive power from the section, providing A and B-side distribution to two additional Okken lineups, rated at 400V, 65 ka (1s), with a 1600 A bus, which is designed to automatically switch between feeds. The facility power system is designed to also support integrated peripheral devices like fire panels, access control systems, and environmental monitoring and control devices. ower meters in the electrical path monitor power quality and allow for predictive maintenance & diagnostics of the system. These meters also integrate with StruxureWare ower Monitoring Expert. Every component in this Reference esign is built and tested to the applicable IEC standards. Further design details and schematics are available in the engineering package available upon request.
3 [Reference esign 62] 3 Facility Cooling FACILITY COOLING BLOCK IAGRAM (1 OF 5 Shown) ECOBREEZE COOLING NITS The facility cooling design is comprised of eight identical stand alone cooling systems with a total of 40 EcoBreeze indirect air economizers that deliver clean and conditioned supply air to the data center. There are five EcoBreeze units serving each IT room, with N+1 (by frame) redundancy, which are mounted on a side wall of the room. Warm return air from the IT equipment is ducted to a common ceiling plenum, from which each EcoBreeze draws air and, when ambient temperatures are favorable, supply the data center with a flood of cool air through grates at the perimeter of the IT room. When ambient temperatures are less favorable, the EcoBreeze units supplement the free cooling with indirect evaporative cooling, which removes heat from the IT air by evaporating water on the outside of the heat exchanger channels. Also, in circumstances of extreme ambient temperatures, the refrigerant loop in each EcoBreeze module activates, using direct expansion cooling to maintain the desired IT space temperature. Regardless of which cooling mode is being used- air-to-air free cooling, indirect evaporative, or direct expansion- the EcoBreeze units always prevent the outside air from coming in contact with the data center air. In the case of a primary water supply failure, an optional 1 m 3 water storage tank for each EcoBreeze unit can supply water for 30 minutes of evaporative cooling. Air in all electrical rooms is conditioned by N+1 niflair perimeter X cooling units. This design is instrumented to work with StruxureWare Cooling Monitoring Expert. Further design details such as dimensions, equipment placement, temperature set points, pipe sizing, flow rates, and pressure drops are available in the engineering package. FACILITY COOLING ATTRIBTES ESIGN OTIONS This reference design can be modified as follows without a significant effect on the design s performance attributes: Reduce redundancy to the module, not frame, level Eliminate secondary water supply tank size, or change its size se water-saver mode to rely more on direct expansion and reduce water consumption Name Value nit Total cooling capacity 2240 kw Mechanical redundancy Outdoor heat exchange Air, water, and/or R-410a depending on conditions N+1 at frame level Indirect Evaporative Cooling with EcoBreeze Storage tank size 1 m 3 Ride through time 30 mins Economizer type Air-to-Air and Indirect Evaporative

Each of the rooms is comprised of 12 rows housing 10 racks each, for a total of 120 racks per IT room. Each rack is capable of 10 kw for a total of 1.2 MW per room, with 9.6 MW worth of IT capacity in aggregate. This design allows for the use of both traditional IT equipment in Netshelter racks and OC equipment in OC V2 racks. The IT equipment composition in this design is set at 50% traditional IT equipment and 50% OC IT equipment, with the flexibility to accommodate any desired composition. Each pod, or pair of racks, is powered by two 277 kw floor mounted Remote ower anels () providing A and B-side power to each row. Every traditional rack is configured with two metered rack-mount power distribution unit (r) to enable remote monitoring of the units for efficiency and capacity management, while OC racks contain one OC V2 rack s for each power feed. Within each OC V2 rack, there are two power shelves populated with power supply units (S), for 2N redundancy at the rack level. Energy storage for OC racks is provided by the Ss upstream in the architecture, so battery backup units (BBs) are not required in the power shelves in the rack. Hot air containment system is provisioned for each pod to increase the cooling efficiency of the N+1 economizer units The security of the room is maintained at multiple points. At the rack level, access is controlled by a door lock and sensor. At the room level, security cameras are utilized for monitoring. ist. A IT od ist.
