DAISY: Impact Analysis and Cost Benefit Analysis of Countermeasures on Airport infrastructure Project Title- EN Description of the project Maximum EU grant awarded in EUR The main objective of the DAISY project is to provide Infrastructure (CI) Security Managers and Airport Manager with an instrument which will help in defining the risk their infrastructures are subject to, in order to assess the vulnerabilities and identify/implement the most appropriate integrated non-invasive inspection countermeasures. Moreover, the most valuable target of this project is to provide the end-users with an instrument that will help them in evaluating which non-invasive inspection systems are the most effective , NATIONAL INTER- UNIVERSY CONSORTIUM FOR TELECOMMUNIC ATIONS and Cloud Computing: understanding cross-sectorial criticalities and security practices (CI2C) CI2C project will be focused on enhancing the security & resiliency of CC and Information (CIIs) by assessing and evaluating cross sectors criticality that could amplify effects and impacts in case of failures. The CI2C project would create the foundation for securing and protecting CIIs with intense use of CC (CI2C systems) , EUROPEAN STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE COMPANY BE Terrorists Targeting Railways The project will produce three readily available and operational deliverables: a threat assessment tool (analysis grid) and related scenarios of potential attacks; a simulation of the consequences of an attack based on a scenario chosen by end-users and developed by a 3D simulation tool; finally, the project will develop and conduct a role-play crisis management exercise. Building on the lessons learned, the project will deliver a user-manual for future exercises ,07

DE PL ES Risk-Based Approach for the Protection of Land Transport Infrastructure against Extreme Rainfall Strengthening of the potential of services responsible for critical infrastructure protection in the water sector in crisis situations Secure User Authentication in Control Centres for (SUAC3I) Ensure the availability of transport infrastructure with regards to natural hazards, especially extreme rainfall, through a risk-based design of the former. The main objective of the project refers to strengthening of the potential of services responsible for CI protection in the water sector in case of crisis situations including terrorist attacks. The main topic addressed by the project is user authentication and traceability in control centres for critical infrastructures. The project will propose a new user authentication solution specific for control centres which permits a simple integration within current infrastructures and a fast adoption , , ,69

THREATS will specifically tackle these needs to timely prepare EU MS to such devastating new types of terrorism, preventing loss of lives and associated economic burden , CINECA University Interconsortium GAINS: Geopolitcs-Aware INternet Strategies The aim of the project is to enhance the prevention of and the preparedness to cyber-attacks against the European Internet infrastructure, promoting and supporting the definition of cyber-strategies to reduce risks and to upgrade security , POLECNICO OF MILAN FOUNDATION Resilience Capacities Assessment for Disruption READ is intended to boost the resilience capacities required to manage cross-border CI disruptions. The main assumption of the READ project is that current emergency management practices generally fail to address the challenges raised by cross border CI disruption , TLP, SPOL. S R.O. CZ Infrastructure Protection Against Chemicals Attack The aim of the project is to concentrate on critical infrastructure (CI) protection against adversary using high-risk chemicals or dangerous goods. The objective is to develop a set of tools, enabling critical infrastructure operators, security experts, security systems architects and designers the quantitative assessment and evaluation of effectiveness of current or planned physical protection systems of critical infrastructure sites in the context of adversary attack mounted onto these assets using industrial strength chemicals or dangerous goods ,50

ES Infrastructure Risk Assessment Support (CIRAS) The CIRAS project will provide a novel approach to security management in critical infrastructure protection (CIP), taking into account typical CI effects of interdependencies of systems, cascading and escalation of incident consequences. The approach provides a holistic assessment of all aspects of a security measure, including the expected risk reduction, cost and monetary benefits as well as the large numbers of socio-political factors which need to be regarded in security planning and decision making , "SAPIENZA" UNIVERSY OF ROME Assessing the economic impacts of Terrorist Threats or Attacks following the Close down of public transportation Systems The ATTACS project aims to build a tool to support decision making in the transport protection field. The tool will enable transports operators and authorities to estimate all the economic and societal implications of a forced close down of part (or the whole) of their public transport system, so to be able to make better, informed, security related decisions , CENTER FOR SECURY STUDIES (ΚΕΜΕΑ) GR European Surface Transport Operators Forum The specific questions that will contribute to achieve EUSTO's objectives are related to: Supporting the identification and analysis of European sectorial and cross-sectorial criticalities (including facilitating the implementation of Directive 2008/114/EC) Supporting Member States by enhancing communication in order to strengthen cooperation between the public and the private sector (regular meetings to discuss issues of common interest) as well as by improving international cooperation and a cross-border exchange of information between these stakeholders and the relevant institutions at European level Interdependency analysis on a multi-sectorial level Increasing the security awareness of critical infrastructure operators Increasing mutual knowledge of the Member States' security capabilities specific to terrorist crises in view to enhance preparedness and response capabilities in case of terrorist attacks requiring mutual assistance at EU level ,63

MEDUSA will therefore open new horizons in the area of port security, through producing and sharing knowledge associated with the identification and assessment of cascading effects in the global ports' supply chain, with a view to predicting potential problems but also to minimize the consequences of diverge security incidents , UNIVERSY OF ROME 3 Unified Risk Assessment Negotiation via Interoperability Using Multi-sensor data The expected results of the project are the development of a common framework for the effective protection of Infrastructure at EU level and the development of methods, techniques and instruments for operational or training use in this particular field , TECNALIA Research and Innovation Foundation ES TAC - Threat Assessment framework for protection The OBJECTIVE of TAC will be the definition and development of a framework for the assessment of risk and impact of cyber-attacks in smart grids. The framework will be used in the risk analysis and assessment phase of CIP and will support the simulation of the relevant cyber-attacks to smart grids, in order to better design the reactive measures in these infrastructures ,44
6 FORM FOUNDATION European Cooperation Network on Infrastructure Protection EUCONCIP project aims at setting the ground for a European partnership between critical infrastructures stakeholders to strengthen public-private international cooperation, planning, networking and cross-border exchange of information.
