10 Projected Outlook Waste Water Renovation Partnering with NYS DOC on a Capital Improvement Project which will allow us the use of environmentally friendly UV lights at our waste water treatment facility. State announced they will be providing 2.3 million towards the effort. We need to keep sewer rates fair and current to keep up with operational costs shared by NYS as this partnership is critical to the future of our wwtp. Village of Gowanda Police Department Experienced Leadership Team in place to develop a professional department that will focus on keeping our community safe by understanding our community s needs and making community policing a priority. Code Enforcement continuing to make strides that will continue to add to the quality of life for our residents. Village of Gowanda Public Works Continued effort for shared service opportunities perhaps and consolidation of work force and equipment. Village of Gowanda Office Reorganization of office staff for the first time in over two decades a full time treasurer and clerk will be in place. Utilizing effective methods and technology to save funds 10 Years Village is projected to be debt free and use savings to build general fund. USDA loan will be paid off with revenue from timber at Point Peter. Water revenues to continue to spend down debt. Shared Water Service Agreement with Town of Collins Over the next 10 years this shared agreement is projected to save tax payers over $1 Million. Along with being able to pass a savings onto our tax payers this collaborative effort has given us an opportunity to develop a capital improvement project plan which will allow us to keep our aging water infrastructure safe and updated such as the Water Meter Replacement Project and the 2017 Water Line Improvement Project. Army Corp Study In conjunction with Thatcher Brook Task Force these efforts should provide the needed flood mitigation the village needs to prevent future flooding. GO-wanda on the Move Continued economic development and focus on the future growth of our community. Downtown Revitalization and initiatives such as the WNY Regional Railway Corridor Project that will put Gowanda on the map.
