8 Building a Resilient Infrastructure At the onset of Tusculum s distance education program, bandwidth topped out at 45 Mbps A complete reinvention of the network infrastructure first began in August of 2011 Information Systems began exploring how to increase the bandwidth level. Decided to replace the three different bandwidth providers with one managed solution This solution gained us four times the bandwidth. It also brought the monitoring and reporting of our bandwidth usage under one roof, allowing for detailed reporting of usage statistics Tusculum partnered with ENA to increase our bandwidth to 100 Mbps. Due to the increase in our online enrollments, we then upgraded to 200 Mbps. In Fall 2016, Tusculum became a 1 Gbps college campus. This solution also brought our off-campus Tusculum College sites onto one network, allowing us to extend more managed services to Morristown and Knoxville campus locations.
