3 Windows Service Pack Support Policy Specified Windows versions have been successfully tested by Business Objects. The compatible service pack releases of the specified versions will be supported as they are made available, but may not have been tested by Business Objects. Eceptions in support will be documented. Business Objects and Microsoft Critical Patches Business Objects supports and recommends installation of all Microsoft critical patches for the operating systems listed above. Minimum Software Requirements BusinessObjects Metadata Management XI 3.0 can only be installed on top of BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 FP1 Minimum Hardware Requirements Windows support is limited strictly to AMD/Intel chipsets. BusinessObjects Metadata Management software for Windows is not warranted or supported for use on other chipsets. BusinessObjects Metadata Management is supported running on 32-bit versions of Windows running on 86 and 64 CPUs made by AMD and Intel. BusinessObjects Metadata Management is supported running on 64 - bit versions of Windows running on 64 CPUs made by AMD and Intel if it can reference the 32-bit operating system libraries as well as the 32-bit database and application client libraries. Single machine installation Minimum hard disk space on the installation drive: 500 MB Minimum RAM: 1 GB Hard-disk space on the user home directory drive (c:\ drive) : 5 GB to 50 GB depending on the CMS size, this space is used to download the reports to metadata parsing. 9/18/2008 Copyright 2008 Business Objects. JDK Version Support Policy JDK major versions are specified to ensure the use of correct version when there are multiple choices provided by the vendor. Information on metadata sources or tools supported by the MIMB can be found on the Meta Integration Technologies Inc (MITI) website: Business Objects Metadata Management supports all the metadata sources supported by MIMB ecept those for Business Objects products. Metadata integrators for Business Objects products are created by Business Objects and bundled in Business Objects Metadata Management. 9 Metadata Management Connectivity Notes Metadata Management Database Connectivity Support policy BusinessObjects Metadata Management RDBMS support is defined by the version of the database client interface. Any database client interface supported by Metadata Management will be supported in any clientserver combination which is supported by the database vendor. If a vendor announces that they will discontinue support, Metadata Management must discontinue on-going support for that database. Metadata Management supports all client interfaces listed in this document and client interfaces that are compatible with versions listed. Unless eplicitly stated otherwise, all database versions refer to the generally available versions provided by the vendor for an "." release.
