Implementation of several techniques (such as: Latent Semantic Indexing, Text Summarization, Text Segmentation, Binary Factor Analysis... ) used to extract structural and semantic content from PDF, html, xml and plain text document. These techniques have been implemented in a project planned as a generic information classifier and ontology generator (OntoExtractor). Design and develop of a module used to extract information from a document and convert them in a XML document. The document is processed with the OntoExtractor tool to cluster the documents by their structure. Then the documents in the structure clusters can be clustered by their semantic content, using Ontology (OpenCyc) driven semantic tagging of the text. And the tool produces ontologies and assertions regarding the documents. There is also a trust based system to increase or decrease the value of an assertion which might be wrong by the navigation of the ontology. Design and development of a graphical interface used to display and edit a hierarchy of information in the iphi format. The software allows the user to add, remove and edit categories of this hierarchy, each category contains one or more Tag Map used to bind information from external sources to the hierarchy. Each category can also use a specific method in order to make queries and categorize the information from the data sources. Once the data source is processed the tool produce an XML le describing the hierarchy, this le can be parsed by a JAXB parser in order to rebuild and reuse the complete hierarchy. This hierarchy is used to intelligent management of information coming from semi structured data sources (XML). Basic research on dialog systems, thesauri, sound processing and voice identity verification. The project was developed in collaboration with ST Microelectronics (Italy) and the aims was to realize a voice driven ATM machine. The information coming from the user is in a semi structured format (XML). The software extracts the information with probabilistic and soft computing techniques and executes the actions modelled in a finite states automa.

8 All the information about the configuration and the environment of the system are in semi structured format (XML). The software is easily adaptable to many situations with level of interaction related to small bounded contexts.
