2 What is the GreenPoint Simulation Tool? The GreenPoint Simulation Tool is an interactive online design and verification tool to help you easily generate and validate an electronic design. This tool is comprised of a series of modules. The first module is dedicated to LED Lighting drivers in AC-DC, DC-DC, or linear applications. LED Lighting Module Simply select a part (step #1) and enter your design requirements (step #2), such as input voltage and LED parameters. The tool automatically generates an application circuit (step #3) complete with all of the correct component values required to meet your requirements. Your customized schematic is displayed online (step #3), and can then be simulated to show circuit waveforms for analysis (step #3). You can change component values to see the impact of component changes on circuit performance. Once a schematic has been analyzed and components selected, components are selected from a distributor database (step #4). If you wish to change one of the components selected, you can use the search features to easily select alternate components. Once a design is complete, a design summary is generated which lists all of your design inputs, finalized schematic, bill of materials, and waveforms (step #5). A PDF file is also available to allow designs to be stored or distributed to other interested parties. You can save your designs (step #) for later analysis, or even share your designs with other users who also use the tool so that they can load your design for further analysis. LED Driver Generation, Summary Saved s 1 2 Analysis Select a LED driver from a range of available device depending on desired topology Simply enter your design requirements, such as input voltage and LED requirements The GreenPoint Simulation tool selects appropriate components for the schematic and allows you to analyze your application in a virtual test bed. A BOM is generated from the distributor database using component values from the schematic. Alternate components can be selected from the searchable database. Once the design has been verified, the tool generates a comprehensive design summary including design parameters and analysis results. The design can be saved for future analysis. 4 Generation, Summary Saved s Simply enter your design requirements, such as input voltage, LED parameters, or # of LEDs in series. Your inputs are checked against the performance parameters of the part and a customized schematic is generated based on your inputs. Should an invalid input be entered, you will be prompted with an error message on what parameter is invalid. 5 Generation, Summary Saved s Your design is displayed in an online schematic, which allows you to test your application in a virtual test bed. Depending on the part selected, different analysis buttons may be available for the part. AC, transient, and steady state analysis may be available. Clicking on the results link will open the waveform viewer. The schematic is initially populated with components based on your design requirements. To change a component, click the component to pull up a dialogue box. Parts are selected from a database of preferred components. Custom parts can also be defined. 9 Generation, Summary Saved s 1 Interview 2 Analysis Saved designs are displayed in the Open tab. The Save tab will save your current working project. The Share button allows you to enter an address of a user to share this design with. An will be sent to that user to notify him or her that a new shared design is available. If this user has never used the tool before, he or she will be required to register to view this shared design.
