2 Provisioning Oracle SOA Cloud Service Introduction Before beginning this portion of the tutorial, you should have already completed these OBEs: Creating a Secure Shell (SSH) Key Pair Creating Storage Containers for Backups Creating an Oracle Database Cloud Service Instance In this activity, you provision your Oracle SOA Cloud Service Instance. You will need to use the values you supplied in the OBEs listed above. Be sure you have the following information available: The name of the SSH public key file you created earlier The name of the database instance you created earlier The database administrator password you provided earlier The name of the Oracle Storage Cloud container you created earlier The name and password of the Oracle Storage Cloud administrator you provided earlier Creating an Instance 1. Open a browser window and go to Oracle SOA Cloud Service: 2. Sign in to your Services Console using your identity domain, user name and password. 3. On the Oracle Cloud My Services page, In the SOA section, click the menu icon and select the Open Service Console link. 2

3 4. On the Oracle SOA Cloud Service page, click Create Service. Providing Basic Service Instance Information 5. Enter the basic information for your instance. Click Next. Instance Name Description Notification SSH Public Key firstdaysoa Optionally describe the instance. Enter your address. Click Edit. Select Key file name and click Choose File to select the file you created earlier that contains the public key for the secure shell (SSH). Click Enter. Cluster Size 1 Note: SOA Cloud service always creates a domain with one or more servers in a cluster. Choose the cluster size. Choose between 1, 2, or 4 virtual machines. If you configure more than one node, it is highly recommended that you enable the load balancer on the next page. Software Release Oracle Version

4 Specifying Service Details Select the various details required for your service instance. Select Service Type 1. Select SOA Cluster as the service type. WebLogic 2. Enter the WebLogic parameters. 5 Backup and Recovery Configuration 3. Enter the backup and recovery parameters. Storage Container Name Enter the name of the Oracle Storage Cloud container used to provide storage for your service instance backups using the format: Storage-identity-domain-name/container-name Storage User Name Password Create Cloud Storage Container The name of the Oracle Storage Cloud Service administrator. The password of the Oracle Storage Cloud Service administrator. Check Note: The provisioning wizard automatically creates the storage container. 5

6 Database Configuration 4. Enter the Database parameters. Name PDB Name Administrator User Name Password SOA12cEEDB Provide the instance name you created earlier in this tutorial. Enter an optional Pluggable Database Name. If a Pluggable Database Name is not specified, the Pluggable Database Name specified during Cloud Database Service provisioning is used as the default. SYS This value must be set to a database user with SYSDBA system privileges. You can use the default user SYS or any user that has been granted the SYSDBA privilege. Use the database administrator password you specified when the Oracle Database Cloud Service instance was created. 6

7 Load Balancer Configuration 5. Enter the load balancer parameters. Provision Load Balancer Load Balancer Policy Compute Shape Check Round Robin This option passes each new request to the next managed server in line, evenly distributing requests across all managed servers regardless of the number of connections or response time. Confirming Your Subscription Selections The Selection Summary popup and the confirmation page display the configuration values you choose in the provisioning wizard. Review the service details. If you need to change the service details, use the navigation bar or Previous button at the top of the wizard to step back through the pages in the wizard. Click Cancel to cancel out of the wizard without creating a new service instance. 1. To review your choices, click Selection Summary. 7

8 2. Click Next. The provisioning wizard validates your entries and presents you with your choices on the Confirmation page. When you are satisfied with your choices, click Create. Note: It takes about an hour and a half to create the instance. You are notified by when it has been created. 8
