2 What is IntelleView/SB? IntelleView/SB is an Intellex digital video management system with the IntelleView application and transaction database installed. This provides a cost-effective solution for customers that need to monitor 16 or fewer terminals, or customers that need to monitor exceptions only on a large number of terminals. The IntelleView/SB system allows both the Intellex and IntelleView applications to run simultaneously, but independently. This allows for switching between using the IntelleView to monitor transaction video and Intellex for general surveillance purposes. IntelleView/SB Model Numbers Nine IntelleView/SB models are available. Model numbers are based on recording type, hard drive capacity, and network card. Type/Capacity Ethernet Token Ring Store Loop Record All/ 480 GB Record All/ 320 GB Exception/ 320 GB AD6IV31D048E AD6IV31D048T AD6IV31D048L AD6IV31D032E AD6IV31D032T AD6IV31D032L AD6IV31DX32E AD6IV31DX32T AD6IV31DX32L This document abbreviates references to the models based on recording type, hard drive capacity, and network card in the following manner: AD6IV31D048E/T/L AD6IV31D032E/T/L AD6IV31DX32E/T/L Note: You can identify which model you are using by opening the drive access cover on the front panel of your unit. Live Transaction Receipt Display IntelleView/SB displays the transaction data for the selected terminal in the slip panel. This allows you to see the details of the transaction in context with the video. Saves All Transaction Data IntelleView connects to the transaction system network and saves all transaction data. The transaction data is stored in a relational database on the IntelleView logical drive. Real-Time Exception Monitoring IntelleView compares the transaction data to Exception Definitions, which are entered using the Administrator application. Exception Definitions relate to transaction system activities, such as purchases, voids, returns, price adjustments, item numbers, account numbers, and miscellaneous events. IntelleView can also monitor all transactions from specific associates or terminals. You may also choose to override recording of specific cameras to selected video recorder channels. 3 Data Mining with Link to Digital Video IntelleView allows you to investigate (data mine) all transaction data, up to 90 days. By selecting the date or range of dates, and entering data mining criteria, you can locate the transactions that meet the selected criteria. Each transaction may have a link to associated video on an Intellex recorder that can be reviewed. Easy-to-Use Graphical Interface IntelleView provides a graphical user interface for simplified administration, control and monitoring of the system. Review live transaction data in the slip panel. View live video in the video panel. See the results of a data mining operation in the Data Mining List with color coded transaction types, or view it in a bar or pie chart format. Identify problem associates with the click of a few buttons. Click the video icon to retrieve stored video instantly. Real Time Exceptions List IntelleView provides Real Time Exceptions List, which displays transaction exceptions as they occur (based on the defined Exception Definitions). While live video is monitored or archived transactions and video are reviewed, the Real Time Exceptions List continues to display Exceptions from any terminal in the transaction system. Intellex Operator Administrator By holding the Alt key down and pressing the Tab key, you can select which application to use. When the box appears around the icon of the software you want to use, release the Alt key and the window associated with the software becomes active. In this example the box appears around the IntelleView/SB Administrator icon. The Administrator and Case Management icons will not appear if you have not previously opened them from the Operator window. See Figure 2 on page 5 for the location of the Administrator and Case Management tools. IMPORTANT! You cannot switch between IntelleView and Intellex applications with IntelleView/SB models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L. You can only switch between the IntelleView applications. If passwords are enabled, you must enter your user name and password. Click OK. Case Management Starting the Operator Application The Operator application starts automatically whenever the IntelleView/SB system is started. The Operator application is intended to run continuously. However, if you have switched to a different application, such as the Intellex application, use Alt+Tab to switch to the Operator application. If you do not know the user ID and password, DO NOT CANCEL this prompt. Wait until an authorized user with the correct password arrives. The IntelleView system collects the transaction data and video even if the operator application is not running. Switch to the Intellex application to review the activity at the terminals. Continue with Overview of the Main Window on page 4. OPERATOR S GUIDE 3 of 18

4 Overview of the Main Window The IntelleView Operator Main Window (Figure 1) contains the menu bar, tool bar, transaction slip panel, video panel, and a tabbed control for viewing data mining operations, charts, reports, and real time exceptions. 6 Video Recording Modes Two video recording modes are supported: Record All and Exception. The Recording Mode can be independently set for each terminal. This is done in the Rec. Mode column of the Register Definition tab of the Administrator application. If the recording mode is set to Record All, all transactions from the terminal will be video recorded. If the recording mode is set to Exception, only transactions containing exceptions will be video recorded. In either case, all the transaction data will be stored in the IntelleView transaction database for the designated Archive time period. Models AD6IV31D048E/T/L, and AD6IV31D032E/T/L Models AD6IV31D048E/T/L and AD6IV31D032E/T/L support both Record All and Exception recording modes. Up to 16 simultaneous recordings may take place when using models AD6IV31D048E/T/L and AD6IV31D032E/T/L. Record Video for All Transactions If the recording mode is set to Record All, all transactions for the terminal will be video recorded. As with Exception Monitoring, all of the transaction data is stored in the IntelleView database for a designated time period. Record All should be designated for a terminal if a video recording of every transaction is required. Recording video for every transaction uses more disk space and results in fewer days of stored video. Record Video for Exceptions Only If the recording mode is set to Exception, only transactions containing exceptions will be video recorded. Every transaction containing an Exception will be video recorded. Models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L Models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L supports Exception Recording Mode only. Exception Monitoring is provided for situations where there are many terminals to be monitored, but there are not enough Intellex channels to record every terminal. In this situation, IntelleView compares the information within each transaction against the user defined Exception Definitions, configured using the Administrator application, to determine which transactions will get video recorded. Only two simultaneous recordings can take place. WARINING! IntelleView/SB models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L are restricted to recording video on two channels even though 16 channels are available. Attempting to use the remaining 14 video channels could result in loss of video, transaction data, or both. Viewing Live Video Live video is handled differently depending upon the IntelleView model used. Use the Register Select and Recording Status window to select terminals to view live. The appearance of this window differs depending upon the model. See Figure 3 (page 7) and Figure 4 (page 8) for examples. Note: You may also use the View->Register Select menu to open this window. In addition, you may also use the Quick Register function to select the terminal you want to view. See Using the Quick Register Function on page 9. Understanding Recording Status When viewing the Register Select and Recording Status Window, the Rec (record) Status column shows the current recording status of each terminal and Intellex recording channel. 7 Figure 3: Register Select and Recording Status window (models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L only) Active registers and associates Active switched registers with exceptions Recording status Models AD6IV31DX32E/T/L Register Select and Recording Status Window The Register Select and Recording Status window (Figure 3, page 7) lists the configured terminals, active associates, recording status, and connection type. In addition, the terminal number and recording status can be identified for each Intellex Recording Channel. There are two parts to this window: Register Select and Recording Status (left side of window) and Recorder Channel Select (right side of window). In this configuration, all cameras are switched (represented by ). An Intellex recording channel can be assigned to the terminal by using Video Override. This function records all terminal activity on the channel regardless of exception status. When the override is active, other terminals cannot use the channel for exception recording. Stop Override is used to resume normal recording. See Starting a Video Override and Stopping a Video Override on page 8 for more information. To view video from any active Intellex recording channel, click the terminal number from the Recorder Channel Select section of the window (right side of window). When IntelleView assigns an exception to the selected channel, the transaction data from the offending terminal appears in the Slip Panel, and video from the terminal appears in the Video Panel. If no exceptions are assigned to the selected channel, no video appears in the Video Panel. IMPORTANT! While using the Register Select and Recording Status window, you may notice terminal information being assigned to recording channels. These changes are associated with exceptions that occur simultaneously and are recorded on other channels. Exceptions that are assigned to channels that are not selected do not appear in the Slip Panel or Video Panel. However, both the transaction is saved and video is recorded for data mining purposes. Starting a Video Override Connection method To assign a specific terminal to a specific Intellex recording channel, use the Video Override feature. This ensures that all terminal activity is recorded. 1. Click the Register Selection button in the tool bar. The Register Select and Recording Status window appears. 2. Locate the channel that you want to use for the video override in the Recorder Channel Select grid and select the channel number. 3. Scroll through the list of terminals/associates until you locate the one that you want to monitor and select the terminal number. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each video override you want to set. When finished, click the close button ( ), located in the upper right corner of the window. OPERATOR S GUIDE 7 of 18

10 Investigating Suspicious Transactions Because all terminal transactions are stored in a database, you can investigate transactions that occurred days or weeks ago. This activity is called data mining. The days of available transactions may range from 7 to 90 days, which is set by the IntelleView Administrator application. If associated video is available on the Intellex system, you can review the archived transaction in context with the associated video. The Data Mining Criteria Filter window (Figure 7) allows you to select specific event types and enter the criteria for investigating transactions in the database. To display this window, click the Data Mining Criteria Filter button. Note: You may also use the View->Data Mining Criteria Filter menu to open this window. When the Apply or OK button is clicked, a database query is performed. This query is also based on the current date, or range of dates, selected in the Data Mining Date Selector window. See Using the Data Mining Date Selector Window on page 13. Figure 7: Data Mining Criteria Filter window If the related data in a transaction exceeds the criteria entered in the Data Mining Criteria Filter, it is recognized as a data-mined exception. These transactions are then listed in the Data Mining List tab of the main window. See Figure 8. When the transaction list appears, you may: Sort the list by clicking the column headings. To print the Data Mining List, click the Print Active Tab button on the tool bar. Display the transaction slip information by clicking the + symbol in the EX (expand) column. This displays the transaction information in a separate window. To print this information, click the Print Slip button in the tool bar. Note: You may also use the File->Print Slip menu to perform this function. If video of the transaction is available, the symbol appears in the Video column. Click this symbol to play the video segment. OPERATOR S GUIDE 10 of 18
