2 Program Overview Problems Addressed intelligent distribution of information based on its semantics Integration of multiple disparate information sources Solution Java Framework for systems integration. Kage to support applications with analysis, translation, and repository functionality, Application of an UML technology to leverage existing resources to provide knowledge engineering capability. Duet to support visualization, application and management of ontologies using the UML/MOF engineering standards, Articulation components and services that facilitate the integration of disparate sources. Artic to support using multiple ontologies concurrently by finding and codifying relationships between their concepts. Intelligent information publish and subscribe applications. DART Artic DMIR DART - provides a foundation for mapping and analytical functions. Import Meta-Data from Oracle DBMS, MS Access, ER/Win, Oracle designer 2000, SQL Scripts, XML, UML Comparative Analysis supports Database Mapping, Data interoperability, Migration and Integration Codip - provides an Articulation Service for further analysis of meta-data. for the description of relational databases and articulations between. Rule based identification of candidate mappings between subjects, tables, and elements in RDBMSs. DMIR - provides a web portal with tools for further analysis and a repository for past results. Web based access to analysis and reporting tools. Shared repository for RDBMS meta-data descriptions and comparisons between RDBMS systems.
11 ODKD in GLC2S Combating Data Overload Information routing service Real-time publication to subscriber clients based on subscriber preferences -based content-defined publication channels Topical Repository hierarchical archive of information CSSOC CSSOC MEB OWL is used to mark-up the logistics support requests. This mark-up is done by hand for the prototype, but would be incorporated into the messaging systems in the field in the long run. For example, a Marine would generate and send the appropriate support request from their Digital Communications Terminal with appropriate markup and contextual information generated automatically. MCSSD MCSSD ODKD then routes the messages based on a subscription channel definition query. The queries are run against each message using a rule engine, with the matching content routed to the subscribers of the channel. Using ontologies and queries dynamic routing relations can be expressed, such as deliver to 'my currently supported units' or 'subclasses of heavy units'.
