3 1. Introduction 1.1 Document Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide participants with information on how to use the Clearing module in the TCS BaNCS system via the font-end interface. It describes each of the account functionalities available to users within the Depository module and how to use them. 1.2 Intended Audience This document is intended for use by Clearing & Settlement Participants. 1.3 Document History Version Date Nature of Amendment Aug-2008 Initial draft Oct-2008 Enlarge screenshots. 4 2. Accounts Overview The BaNCS system facilitates the creation and maintenance of accounts and balances for both securities and money. Users are able to query their money and security balances and transactions in the Depository module of the system. Users cannot create accounts themselves. Users are able to transfer cash and securities between their own accounts and to other participants (See User Manual 9 for further details). Transfers between accounts are processed in real-time. 2.1 Account Types The account types that can be held in the system for participants are as follows: Own Account Type Omnibus without details Omnibus with details Client Settlement Collateral Cash Description The account is created for participants to hold proprietary holdings This account is used for storing client s holdings as non-segregated holdings This account is used for storing client s holdings as segregated holdings This account is used to maintain balances for the clients linked to an Omnibus with details account This account is used for settlement events This account is used to maintain the security collateral balances of the participant, and is also where borrowed stock is credited. This account is used for maintaining cash balances 2.2 Balance Types Accounts have a number of associated balance types. These are split between security and cash. There may be multiple balances for a single account type. Relevant balance types are: Balance Type Normal Lendable Lent Borrowed Anticipated Debit Collateral Given Anticipated Entitlement Cleared Description Represents the normal security balances in an account Represents the quantity that can be lent by the Participant from the account Represents the quantity lent by the Participant Represents the quantity borrowed by the Participant Will be used by the Settlement component to block securities / cash during the Settlement process Represents the collateral given for the purpose of SLB, Derivatives or Clearing Represents the entitlements that the account owner is expected to receive as a result of a Corporate Action Represents the money balances available ACCOUNTS 4 of 11

Balance Queries 3.1 Security Balances The security balance in a depository account can be queried in the Depository module as follows: 2) Select Security Holdings from the Menu Bar 3) Select the Query -> Instrument Balances option from the Menu Bar to bring up the Instrument Balances screen Users can then populate one or more parameters in the query screen then click on the Search button to view the results within the chosen parameters. 6 3.2 Money Balances Money balance details can be queried in the Depository module as follows: 2) Select Money Balance from the Menu Bar 3) Select the Query -> Money Balances option from the Menu Bar to bring up the Instrument Balances screen Users can then populate one or more parameters in the query screen then click on the Search button to view the results within the chosen parameters. 7 3) Select the Query -> Registry Balances option from the Menu Bar to bring up the Instrument Balances screen 4) Select the Enquiry Type from the drop down box Users can then populate one or more parameters in the query screen then click on the Search button to view the results within the chosen parameters. Shareholder balance This is a real time NZ / Owned CSN or Australian shareholder balance enquiry Users can query any shareholder or Owned CSN Origin field must be set to CSN for shareholder or owned CSN balances, and SRN for Non CSN account balances Users can query Australian registry holdings by entering the Branch Code into the Branch Code field in conjunction with SRN in the Origin field. Relative branch codes are: o RML: AUS o Computershare: NSW or VIC ii. Transfer Account balance This is the Participant s registry FTA account real-time balance. iii. Participant Daily Reconciliation This returns EOD FTA balances for all instruments at all registries. User can query for own FTA account only Date can be a past date Date is the day of the balance, not the date of the enquiry iv. Holding Balance This is a real-time shareholder or owned CSN balance enquiry for all securities across all registries. User can query for any NZ owned shareholder CSNs Origin field must be set to CSN ACCOUNTS 7 of 11

8 4. Transaction Queries 4.1 Security Transactions Through the query menu, security transaction details can be queried. These are historic transactions, not anticipated transactions. 9 4.2 Money Transactions Through the query menu, money transaction details can be queried. These are historic transactions, not anticipated transactions. 10 2) Select Transactions from the Menu Bar 3) Select the Query -> Transactions Registry option from the Menu Bar to bring up the Transactions Enquiry screen 4) Select the Enquiry Type from the dropdown box 5) For Transfer A/c History and Unnotified queries: Enter BPID Enter Security ID Select Date 6) For Transfer Reference: Enter BPID Enter Security ID Enter Subscriber Ref or Transfer Ref and Transfer Type Transaction Enquiry screen Enquiry Types The enquiry type defines the nature of the query. Enquiry types for registry transaction enquiries are as follows: i. Transfer A/c History A transaction history of the transfer account ii. Unnotified Queries Shows notification from the registry of successful registration of long form COTs and any transfer applied to the FTA that the participant has not created (E.g. Corporate Actions, Pending COTs etc.) iii. Transfer Reference A query of a specific transfer to check if a long form COT has been accepted / rejected ACCOUNTS 10 of 11
