I am a true beginner

3 and the videos that come with this are FABULOUS! I am a visual person and so NEEEEED the videos. Once I have watched the video I go to the chapter and it has even more to show you but because you have watched the video you know what they are talking about =D I truly wish I could give this 10 stars!!!! This is a text book for a college course in image editing. I love the Digital Classroom books! I always buy these books for class instead of using the online versions on the university website so I can continue learning these Adobe products on my own time after I finish the class. The included DVD tutorials really help and unlike some other instructional books which provide only online tutorials, these tutorials do not expire. While I like the way thew various topics are presented, I do have some difficulties following the examples presented here. Some intermediate steps are taken for granted leaving one to check into other chapters to find out how it is done. This hampers a continuous learning flow. Apart from a few shortcomings to my limited knowledge about 'Photoshopping,' I think it is a wonderful teaching aid. I broke down and bought the latest version of Photoshop. It was not cheap, but worth every dollar spent. I had always heard that Photoshop was difficult to learn. I was prepared for the worst. This book makes something that might be almost impossible to learn on your own seem to be easy. If you buy Photoshop CS6 buy this book. Very detailed and well written, and coupled with the video tutorials it is an excellent learning tool. I have the Dreamweaver Digital Classroom as well and I think that they are best instructional media that is available. I used this book for my beginners photoshop class this past semester. Most of the lessons in this book can be completed in two hours or less, depending on how skilled you are, and how well you pick up on things. I personally used Photoshop 5.5 for the class, and was able to do most of the chapters, except two or three which were more focused on the CS6 features. The book comes with the cd with all of the lessons, as well as video lessons to teach you through video as well. Good luck and happy photoshopping! Overall I am very satisfied with this book. The How-to videos the book comes with really complete

4 the teaching experience. The book has a nice mix of photography and graphic tips. While I found the chapters on graphics to be a good overview, I wish there were a couple extra chapter included about photography. I am impressed with this book. There are several books on the market which teach the readers how to use Photoshop, but this one is easiest to understand. I am now able to use Photoshop effectively because of this book. When I come up with questions, the answers are easy to find, read, and implement. I was amazingly disappointed in 's 2-day shipping, which took 9 days to get to me.
