Some people have had difficulty in getting Khaver's Assistant apps to work (Particularly in LW 64bit). I now have no trouble whatever and consequently in case it helps I add this link to a post I made some time ago when I recommended a member to first try the Australian Techlife's magazine deshaker. 3 first of all: Thanks for this great forum which is a big help for new-comers like me Regarding this stabilization tool I am facing some problemes even if I dit it in the way described here. Can some put the latest data s as download links together and write a short how-to install? (for example where to place plug-in s...) One big point for me is that virtualdub is always crashing (different versions tested). I can jump with arrow keys within the movie but if I like to add a filter oder play the movie it crashes. Does someone know if there is probleme with Intel HD graphic cards or whatever. OS is Win 8 64 bit / i5 processor / 8GB RAM... Tested with different video codecs... What I'd do first (if you haven't already tried this) is to download the Australian Techlife Deshaker which runs as a standalone in Win 7 (as a 32bit program) and should do the same in Win 8. If this runs without problems then go from there getting khaver's VDAdssistant app installed in LightWorks, but try this first! 3 / 6

Unfortunately, all the systems that work well that I've come across use VirtualDub which is, of course, a Windows utility. If fact, now that LW for Linux 11.5.d is working so well for me, this is the only stumbling block for me in changing over from Windows LightWorks to Linux. Much of the video I capture is in local National Parks with a 36X optical zoom and even with very stable mounting support for the camera, the result is immeasurably improved by using the VD Assistant app of Khaver's. I did once try to get VDub to work using Wine but got nowhere at all! Posted by conualfy - 10 Dec :25 Thanks for the answer! Maybe there's some solution on the way... 5 Of course you are right. I really did not expect Wine to provide a solution. We've successfully used Wine to run Tin2tin's Eyeframe converter however to provide a interim solution to allow the conversion of video into a format suitable for importing into LightWorks for those of us unfamiliar with terminal processing in Linux! Posted by conualfy - 10 Dec for converting you can use the other tools (Avidemux, Openshot, PiTiVi, etc.). I will try stabilizing in Cinelerra (also a great software), although it is not nice to use multiple software for one thing. But I Know KDenlive has one. It would be really nice if someone could write an extension for Lightworks that would use the video stabilization solution, the one that is used in Kdenlive is open source and is(was?) a standard in the libraries that KDenlive is built on and should be publicly available. Posted by brdloush - 05 Jan :43 Once again the Blender seems to provide. But in this case you obviously need to stabilize your clips before using them in LWKS. Currently the problem is that LWKS's (pixel shader based) effects don't allow any external data to be fed 5 / 6

6 into the effect. Effects only accept values from effect settings and the actual video feeds as inputs. Theoretically under current limitations one could create: 1) assistant app for LWKS, which would open the clip in Blender. 2) a script to Blender which would output the stabilization data (X shift, Y shift, zoom level,?rotation?) in a form of image sequence 3) a FX file for LWKS which would expect actual video clip in one video input and stabilization data in form of images (created in step 2). I think it might be doable, and such workflow might actually be even relatively effective. But it's questionable how would the final result look. For example, LWKS doesn't work with pixels, but with 0..1 interval.. 6 / 6
