2 Hi Tech Systems overview Hi Tech Systems is a UK based manufacturer of control systems for the broadcast television industry, and has been designing and building control systems since the 1990s. The company was established by its founder and managing director Tom Favell who continues to lead the organisation. Target customers are TV broadcasters, service providers, and cable and satellite operators. Products are operator focused and designed to be flexible, reliable and scalable. A range of control systems are available from simple 1 or 2 channel control to facility wide solutions. The company s innovative solutions manage ingest and multi-channel playout workflows around the world.

AVITA SUPPLIES A FULL SET OF FEATURES THAT HELP ENABLE PRODUCTION COSTS TO BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. ISO CAMERA RECORDING OF OVER 20 CHANNELS PREVIEW ISO RECORDINGS ON PLAYER CHANNEL. PRE-SHOW, THE SERVER IS LOADED WITH VIDEO AND AUDIO CLIPS WHICH CAN BE TRIMMED USING AVITA. CLIPS CAN PREVIEWED IN THE AVITA GUI WITHOUT USING A SERVER CHANNEL. API SUPPORT TO STORE CLIPS IN DIFFERENT FOLDERS, ADD METADATA TO CLIPS, FILE FLATTENING, FILE SPLITTING AND AUDIO TRACK SWAPPING. EACH CLIP CAN BE ASSIGNED TO ONE OF SEVERAL PLAYLISTS. 5 Hi Tech Customers Three Angels Broadcasting Network Three Angels Broadcast Network US based faith broadcaster uses Avita in a busy control room to manually playout clips during shows and to combine multiple video clips into one. Three identical Avita systems each comprising of a hardware control panel (transport control, jog/shuttle wheel, programmable keys and clip navigation joystick) with integral computer for the Avita software making a compact control system with no other boxes required. Each panel is capable of controlling up to 8 channel ports (via API) in any configuration of record or playback. One interesting aspect of the workflow is that during the show recordings are marked to create points of interest creating individual sub clips. These individual sub clips can then be combined into a single clip using the server file flattening (or clip merging) feature. Avita gives the operator the option to choose the sub clips from the channel list (re order the list if required), then name and store the flattened clip in a particular directory. While the clips are being merged the operator is able to use the same channel for other purposes. Council of the European Union The Council of the European Union purchased a Hi Tech Avita production control system for use at the EU Parliament in Brussels. Controlling twenty video server channels - a mixture of Harmonic Spectrum and Imagine Communications Nexio - the Avita is used to provide easy to use recording and play back of parliamentary sessions either manually or scheduled up to three months in advance. The Avita system was configured to display the status and playlists of over twenty server channels across two monitors for optimum clarity for the operator, and provided an Array configurable control panel for ease of use. Operating in a multilingual environment, Avita s ability to swap audio tracks for play back of server channels is a particularly useful feature of the system, and the provision of As Run Logs essential for demonstrating what was played out and when. 6 Hi Tech Customers MBC Egypt MBC Egypt uses Avita Lite in a busy control room to control two channels of an Avid Airspeed to manually playout and record clips during shows. Avita Lite comprises an intergrated hardware control panel (transport control, jog/shuttle wheel, programmable keys and clip navigation joystick) with integral computer for the Avita software making a compact control system with no other boxes required. Each panel is capable of controlling up to 4 channel ports (via VDCP) in any configuration of record or playback. CJE and M Korea I Craft Korea purchased several Hi Tech Avita production control systems Multi Record application for ISO camera recording in studios controlling Imagine Nexio servers, for use at CJE and M in South Korea. Controlling upto sixteen video server channels - the Avita is used to provide easy to use recording and play back of studio recordings. Customers

8 Hi Tech Systems Technology Avita is a system of software applications encompassing ingest, play out, scheduling, News & Sports and works with any professional video server. Array control panels can be fully integrated into an Avita system. Ancora is a facility wide system for controlling, managing and monitoring production and infrastructure equipment. Features a software package to design workflow, GUIs and hardware panel controllers as well as provide a common user interface for all connected equipment. Array is a range of control panels that can be combined together to form a control surface to suit a multitude of workflows. Works with Ancora and Avita software and with third party applications. Using IP technology to reduce production costs and complexity by adopting remote production control, transporting audio, tallies, talkback, serially controlled devices, and equipment needing GPIOs at the remote location. The Altus HT252 and HT262 hardware control panels feature compact control of two server ports with clip management tools to make the most of a server s record and replay capabilities.
