3 Revision History 03/15/2002 First Edition 05/24/2002 Error correction at Chapter 6.5 Create a Clip (A) with SHOTBOX 1. Scope Playback clips is one of key application with a video disk recorder because of instant access capability and ease of synchronized playback. This document describes how to configure, set up and operate Sony MAV555, MAV555A, MAV555SS or MAV777 and DNF 2034CL-MAV or 2034CL-MAV-PBIO controller. In this document, MAV555, MAV555A, MAV555SS or MAV777 is called as MAV, and 2034CL-MAV or 2034CL-MAV-PBIO is called as SHOTBOX. This document is a supplement to the original product operation manuals that can be downloaded from or 2. MAV I/O Configuration MAV has simultaneous 4 channels of I/O capability, configurable from 1in3out, 2in2out and 3in1out. (A) 2in 2out configuration of MAV 2in 2out configuration of MAV provides independent 2 channels for recording and 2 channels of playing back. When simultaneous two channel recording is needed, such as Key and Fill from a computer, this is it. (B) 1in 3out configuration of MAV 1in 3out configuration of MAV provides independent 1 channel for recording and 3 channels of playing back. Depending on the products of MAV, there is a different way to make right configuration. Hers is a table that describes what is required to make 2in2out or 1in3out configuration. 2in 2out configuration 1in 3out configuration MAV555 1x BKMA510 1x BKMA530 MAV555A None (change of set up) None (change of set up) MAV555SS None (change of set up) None (change of set up) MAV777 1x BKMA720 and 1x BKMA730 2x BKMA730 MAV configuration and required I/O option boards 3. SHOTBOX Both 2034CL-MAV and 2034CL-MAV-PBIO consists of two units, and. The difference between 2034CL-MAV and 2034CL-MAV-PBIO is that 2034CL-MAV-PBIO has P-Bus interface to communicate a production switcher. When you have no idea of P-Bus interface, just think of 2034CL-MAV. With you can recall a file, and search IN point if necessary. Then you can assign it to any button on. A clip name is displayed on the key top of each button
4 4. Wiring 4.1 Video and Audio Please refer operation manual of MAV555, MAV555A, MAV555SS or MAV777 in details. 4.2 can control up to 4 ports of MAV through VTR-1, VTR-2, VTR-3 and VTR-4 port. Each controlling port is independent and capable of controlling any port of MAV. It is not necessary to connect a cable to recorder port of MAV, if all clips exist in the MAV or you are going to record clips using control panel. Here is just a sample. Also please refer fig.1, 2 and 3.
