7 Posted by briandrys - 24 Oct :38 Your computer is underpowered. You could try using the internal proxy, to see if this works. It's described on P138 in the V14 User Guide found in downloads > documentation. These are smaller resolution files, which makes editing easier for the computer, but then the export is made using the full resolution source files. These are the recommended system specs for Lightworks: Intel i7 chipset or faster, fast AMD chipset 3GB RAM or higher Two high-resolution displays (1920 x1080) or above PCI Express graphics card (NVIDIA or ATI) with 1GB or higher and support for DirectX 9 (Windows only) Separate media and system drives (these can be internal or external as long as the the interface is suitably fast Compatible sound card 200MB Disk space for Lightworks installation However, users have i5 processors and good RAM, which works for them. 8 You can try, I've edited on an underpowered computer in the past, it's very limiting. Imovie only works on a Mac, you could check out Windows Movie Maker, my understanding is that they are less demanding in computer power. Posted by hugly - 24 Oct :53 It's not very likely that if Lightworks doesn't work fluently other software will work fluently. Try it and tell us.... but, before diving into toys or fake-ware, you might wish to follow Brandrys suggestion using proxies. It s a way to decrease load and to improve performance, and set output format in project menu to 720p. 8 / 8
