At the end of the project design, the program will outputs a professionally designed project proposal. Best of all - Strand System Builder is a free to download and use! Strand System Builder has been updated with new products, new design tools and additional product information links.

4 Older Versions Of Strand System Builder? Strand System Builder V4.0 will read project files generated by all previous versions. When you save a file from a previous version, it will be updated to the V4.0 file format. If the file contains legacy products that have been retired, they will be removed from the bill of materials by Strand System Builder.

5 S21-LED Distribution Wizard A new tab has been added to the Loads page of System Builder for the addition of S21-LEDs to a project The S21-LED consists of three slots that can take on any of the four available module types (IGBT Dimmer, Relay, Low Voltage LED, Blank 18-Jun

6 S21-LED Distribution Wizard This wizard allows for the editing of several attributes that correlate to the S21-LED Unit: Editing of individual S21-LED strip names Editing of the name of the current Daisy chain of S21- LEDs Dragging desired module type to specific slots Editing connector types by Module slot number Selecting of DMX universe per Daisy chain Editing of individual S21-LED Strip DMX value range Changing default DMX value range calculated for each module type Editing DMX Data Cable Length Editing Mounting type, and number of mounting brackets While this wizard gives the user the option to edit all of these things, it will also automatically populate all of these areas based on a default numbering and naming system.

7 Interaction with DMX Universes With the addition of the S21-LED, SystemBuilder has begun to integrate DMX Universes into a considerable amount of its calculation. The current system can only accommodate 4 DMX Universes. Each Universe contains 512 channels of DMX. Although the selection of DMX universe values is mainly limited to the S21-LED wizard, there are a couple of areas where the user can affect these values outside of this wizard: Each load added to any of the other tabs on the Load page is inadvertently calculated as 1 DMX value. This is taken into account when the S21-LED wizard automatically populates the DMX values. When selecting a console, all loads and DMX values are added up in order to determine which console would be the best choice for the created project. This section also allows the user to increase and decrease this value based on the needs of the project. The system is also able to recognize when interfaces are required in order to translate the DMX throughout the entire project system. This also required making the system recognize when the DMX values should take precedence when selecting a Console.

8 Addition of Edison Connection Type The Edison connection type has been added to all applicable distribution types (R21, Connector Strip, Outlet Box, and Floor Pocket specific modules for the S21-LED). This allows for the selection of fixtures with an Edison connection, which is increasing the current database in several areas.

9 Addition of Lighting Fixtures With the update to v4 of SystemBuilder, several new fixture types become available. Most of these fixtures pertain to the new LED lines that are currently being developed. The PL1 LED, PL3 LED, and PL-Cyc fixture types are designed to be connected to a Relay module of some type. Depending on where the fixture is selected from, SystemBuilder is set up to warn the user of this, or to make the necessary adjustments automatically. With the addition of these fixtures we have also added in a new Smart fixture selection option. With the show all available connector types box unchecked, SystemBuilder will review all distribution units in the current room or space, and only show fixtures with connector types matching those found in any of the available unit. Checking this option will list fixtures with all connector types.

10 Contacts / Address Book A new option has been added to the Project page, allowing the user to save and use outlook contact information. Once information has been entered, the user can choose to save the contact information. This information can be recalled under the Browse button, bringing up a list of saved contacts, and contact information that has been saved within Outlook. The user can preview and edit previously saved contacts from within the contacts browse window. Any changes made to Outlook contacts will can be transferred back to the Project page, but will not be saved to the Outlook contact information. Any additions or changes to Outlook contacts must be made from within outlook. Outlook contact retrieval is based on contacts created on Outlook 2010, from a desktop computer. Selecting Add to Project will transfer the selected information to the corresponding slots on the Project page.

11 11 x 17 and A3 Page Sizes Due to popular demand, print out options for 11x17 and the A3 (297 x 420mm) have been added to the Drawings / Spec page in SystemBuilder. This allows for larger project print outs. Dimming Rack Sound Suppression On the optimize screen, if a C21 cabinet is in use, the project gives the user the option to add the noise suppression unit to the cabinet. This is done by stating whether the unit is in a sound sensitive room / location or not. Yes adds the noise suppression, No either removes the unit from the Bill of materials or does not add it at all. This unit can only be added when the project is configured with C21 cabinet(s).
